Anyone heard about a movie Kim Jae Wook's done, due out this October, called 'Butterfly Sleep'? It's a Japanese movie and I really hope to see it, but it's not listed on his profile here......

That summary should end with '.........umtil she finally snaps, kills her cheating uncaring husband and his…
Yeah, wait until you have outlaws like mine - then you'll be wishing they would! My father in law told me on my WEDDING DAY that he'd split me and his son up if it took him to his last breath. I promised him I'd dance on his grave in a red dress before I let that happen. We're still happily together (with a teen daughter) and he pegged out. So, knowing how I have NEVER broken a promise, he put in his will (that had to be read BEFORE his funeral was arranged) that he wanted to be cremated AND his ashes 'must not be spread in one place' (to ensure I was not dancing on them) and also any red clothing was banned. So I still felt I had to keep my promise even so, so i dyed my hair the brightest cherry red I could find (well, it wasn't clothing) and danced round his kitchen to 'who's sorry now?' So I feel this drama so much it's hilarious!

The last couple of scenes had me a bit confused......The father and son left, but the wolho and the boy (can't…
That makes a lot of sense, but wow that's sad. Thanks for your take on it, it helps to get other fans views especially if you're confused like me.

I do take a bit of issue with the statement " it was only a matter of time before the Japanese remake followed" with regards 'Never Let Me Go' - actually the West adapt a LOT more East Asian drama than the other way round. It's not a big issue, but one that just irritated a bit.

I'm a Westerner and I love Asian drama so I watch both sides - and I'll add this......Western adaptations of Asian drama are TERRIBLE in comparison to Eastern adaptations of Western dramas. Case in point, 'Addicted' - US version, called 'Possession' was changed into a slasher flick (though they did film the original much softer Korean ending too - if you watch the US theatrical release dvd until the alternate ending takes over and then watch that (included on the dvd) then it's pretty okay; as the slasher flick it's terrible).

Another deeply dire offering is the recent US version of Death Note - the ONLY single positive is getting the wonderful Willem Defoe to voice the apple loving Ryuk. Don't even get me started on the abomination that is L; he was my favourite character in the East Asian versions (manga, anime and dramas) and they BUTCHERED him.....just....ARGH!! Seriously......ARRRGGHHHH!!

*Deep breath* and....calm.....so, finally there is the US adaptation of Boys Over Flowers - called Boys before Friends. I cannot find the words to say how truly TERRIBLE that version was - I seriously don't think the English language has a word, let alone a string of words, to describe the truly awfulness of that adaptation. To the point where I really wished a brain scrub was a real thing.

There's MANY others but these are the ones I remember the most. Like I said I do take issue with that one line because it makes it sound like Asia just copies the West - but it's really the other way round and the West should stop it because they're so BAD at it.

Nope, sorry for me Goblin edges it all the way but ESPECIALLY on the OST. Sure Bride is good, but Goblin is HAUNTING.....the music hangs around long after each episode and the drama itself is finished. Round and Round was favourite of all, but Chanyeol and Push singing Stay with Me was brilliant too. So Goblin is the outright winner for me ALL round.....I mean Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook - their bromance was worth first place alone! ❤️

Grey Rainbow.....only watch when you want to die - because you WILL have your heart ripped out. More are, for me at least, Flowers for Algernon; Stairway to Heaven (2003) Grave of Fireflies (anime and live action); Spirit's Homecoming (VERY hard to watch and I sobbed so much), Mountain Cry, Uncontrollably Fond, Return of the Cuckoo (if you don't cry at the end, you're heartless); The Stolen Years, Drama Special 2013: My Friend is Still Alive and Hana-chan no Misoshiru and Itoshi Kimi e (just because I have eyesight issues and I know how I'd feel in his shoes). There's a ton more - but these are the ones that have me sobbing like a stupid baby......and reaching for my bodyweight in icecream.

Madame Antoine - I wanted to kill the male lead; slowly and with great pain. There's a drama I actually liked but, really it is train wreck material just for the plot which is like a smashup of 'I love my president even though he's a psycho' and 'My Secret Romance' (and it starred Sung Hoon as the male lead) - and that's 'Noble, My Love'. It was cute, it was funny but it WAS a train wreck and I should know as I've watched it so often! Definite Stockholm Syndrome! lol!

Apparently being made, with the same name, in Hollywood starring Emelia Clarke (made famous by GoT). This was a simply stunning piece of cinematography and one I truly hope Hollywood does not slaughter as it did the haunting ‘Possession’. Possession went from a haunting love story in South Korea to a slasher flic in Hollywood.

I have to say if you watch it until the alternate ending (included on the dvd) fits in and then watch that, it follows the original story and is okay; however, watch the theatrical ‘slasher’ release and it’s beyond dire.

Hollywood usually ends up completely trashing ALL the East Asian dramas it takes on, let’s not forget the truly terrible Hollywood adaptation of the South Korean serial drama ‘Boys Over Flowers’; America called their one ‘Boys Before Friends’ - I only watched one episode and that was enough, if only brain scrubs were real..... Personally I wish Hollywood would just admit defeat and leave East Asian cinema and tv serials alone. Just screen them AS THEY ARE with subs - we Asian drama fans would thank them!

Okay... this synopsis is telling me the whole movie. What's up with that?
Apparently there is a big plot twist that isn't included in the synopsis. I haven't seen the movie so I can't say what it is or if there is one; but more than one reviewer has said so, so it's probably true.

No.10's my pet hate - the 'I've had a terrible life but remained upbeat and happy and also hardworking despite relatives that hate me and use me, bosses who treat me like dirt and steal all the glory...then, just as I find my soulmate and true happiness, I'm told I'm dyingand only have a short time to live' - the final loathsome cliche trick that's often also used is the 'but I'll survive to make you think it has a happy ending only for my SOULMATE to die at the end! HA!' THAT one drives me absolutely NUTS.

Scarlet Heart Ryeo's by far. Totally unnecessary & the writers ruined the couple & story completely.
There's hopefully going to be a season to of SH:R so hopefully that ending will redeem itself. I suppose they did kind of have to follow history as well which constrains things.

I'll be dead and iceskating in hell before I even THINK of getting over the ending of Cheese in the Trap. But then again the WORST ending of ALL time has to be Potato Star.......
