"Thank you for voting for the Best of Japan 2016. Did your favorites get picked?"
Ummmm, unless we all loved and adored A Girl and Three Sweethearts as much as every Yamazaki Kento fan did, then no.....no, my favourite did not get picked. But, thankfully, seeing that AG&3S was nominated in so much and teen fave of the moment, Yamazaki Kento, was in it I wasn't expecting anything else to win.
Indeed I'm more surprised there wasn't a way found to shoehorn AG&3S into EVERY category thereby ensuring a sweep of EVERY award for the drama in general and YK in particular.
It's obvious that so many people voted randomly, I refuse to accept that a drama as terrible as A Girl &…
Actually NO ONE voted randomly, which is why AG&3S won so much. Imagine a drama site in the west having a teen drama starring Justin Beiber nominated in a public vote awards show? You know ALL those hysterical little beiber bunnies would be voting for HIM even if the drama was nothing but drivel and poop.
Well, same here - block voting by similarly hysterical little Yamazaki bunnies BLOCK voting for him in ANYTHING with his name attached. Jesus, they could have nominated a roll of toilet paper from the show and it would've won. XD Which also explains WHY he's in SO many dramas right now......a couple of years down the road, it'll be someone else. ;)
Yamazaki Kento is an idol? did they vote him best idol to mock him for appearing in so many live action movies?…
It's more to do with the fact that this a MULTI Asian drama fan site - so ALL the Jdrama fans of Yamazaki Kento were going to block vote for him. You can't blame MDL for hysterical little girls voting for their bias.
I understand, No one will be fully satisfied about a result, not now not even after years, there will be always…
It's not a case of mocking - but just seeing the results of a sea of little girls and teens voting for their biases and NOT for the drama. Let's be brutally honest here - if Yamazaki Kento hadn't been in it then it would NOT have won as much as it did.
Little girls and teens girls were basically voting en masse for their bias - NOT the drama itself. That's fine; personal choice and all that - but it DOES skew the results and those of us witnessing that OBVIOUS skewing can voice OUR opinions that we're not happy with them. That's what a democracy is about. It doesn't meant we don't accept the results, only that we don't like them - which we don't have to, so long as we abide by them.
Good to see so many DIFFERENT good dramas and actors winning - in the Japanese poll A Girl and Three Sweethearts pretty much won EVERYTHING. I'm pretty sure if there'd been a category for 'best dog in a drama' they would've won that too even though they didn't have a dog. XD
Only one I'm a bit confused about is DoTS winning 'Best Romantic Comedy'? Sure it had its romantically comedic MOMENTS, but that did NOT make it a romcom (and I LOVED DoTS). There has to be a limit of how things get nominated in sections they clearly don't belong and people then vote for them......
My most favourite win? Train to Busan - hands down, no contest. I watched that movie and thought it was one of the best horror movies I've seen in a LONG while.
another year for the little girls(in heart) ....well, I'm so glad for: -"Best Supporting Actress | Ishida…
Yes, it was a bit o_0 for a moment when you first see the results. But I was chuffed about Ishida Yuriko for Best Supporting Actress and Komatsu Nana winning for Black Devil and White Prince. I would've loved to have seen more grown up dramas like Destiny - Like Love and romcoms like Nigeru wa Haji winning; but it was always going to be a little girls vote.
appart from Kaito Tantei Yamaneko I feel like the other dramas don't really deserve this prize. Nobody watch…
I think we watch a lot more than that - but teenage girls are nothing if not determined to make sure their biases win. The results show this; it's not the drama but who is in it. Just the way it is. Next year it'll be the movie versions of Itazura na Kiss winning everything; or some other drama starring a teen idol.
Teens in the West are as bad - I mean Beiber can SPIT on fans from his balcony, and they STILL adore him. Thank God most teens aren't that stupid; I still remember with a smile the teenage girl getting him to autograph a notebook.........that was a DEATH NOTE. lol!
You know what is unfair? A mediocre drama like AG&3S won TONS of awards (even in categories like best couple-…
Agreed - AG&3S won because a LOT of teen girls voted for their biases and NOTHING else. However, my daughter (19) was outraged though that Nigeru wa Haji didn't win more - especially best first episode. She also said the chemistry between the main leads in AG&3S was laughable, let alone so good they won the best couple award. Frankly I think Fujioka Dean and Tsuchiya Tao from IQ246 had more chemistry than the main couple from AG&3S, and they were NOT even a couple in that drama! Even if you didn't agree about NwH's couple being the best chemistry there were most definitely better couples out there than AG&3S'.
I am the most upset though that NwH didn't win Best First Episode as SO many people have said they were snagged by the very first episode and couldn't stop watching thereafter. Whereas there's NOTHING said even remotely the same about AG&3S. It was, to be honest, a mediocre drama with mediocre acting and an ending so obvious you could be blind and still see it coming from ten miles away.
Still, that's democracy - we have to accept the results. Jinsei towa souiu mono desu ne.... :)
So to recap - a girl and three sweethearts won EVERYTHING? Wow, I didn't even think it was THAT good; I mean it was good, but not good enough to win SO much. o_0
However, it was DEFINITELY a teen show and I think the amount of wins it got showed that teen girls were voting the show for their biases and NOT the show.
