You are seriously deranged. The fact that you put rape, bigotry and testifying against someone on a court in a political show trial and sending them to jail on par with being unfaithful to your partner in a relationship shows you are absolutely remote from reality and your total lack of sense of proportionality.

Infidelity is not a crime, you poor little one. It is almost never black and white and one of the most morally grey things to do. It happens in most of the relationships all over the world, sometimes leading to breakups and sometimes to reconciliation, but whoever feels it is something that wrecks them for a lifetime are seriously unfit for life and need help. You are apparently one of them.

There are million times worse and more serious obstacles in life than being cheated on and if you cannot overcome being cheated without feeling the rest of your life is wrecked, you need to seriously consider your mental health and seek professional help.

This "betrayal" and "destroying innocent lives" are ridiculously hyperbolic and most people do not experience infidelity like that (neither did I, for instance, although it happened to me as well, not just once). If you do, that is your business, but don't make it universal for others.

Whenever infidelity is a subject in a drama - especially BL-themed ones - the comment section is always flooded by the morality police SJWs squeeking as if creators owed them to exclude one of the most common occurence in human interpersonal relationships just because it makes them feel uncomfortable and they instantly whine and cry "romanticitzing" when the secret relationship dares to be portrayed as hearftelt and beautiful against their permission. Some dramas - especially BL ones - urgently need more adult audience and less angry bird teenage girls reeking of zero experience in love and life in general, who generally do not mind the protragonists committing loads of crimes up to murdering someone as long as they don't cheat, because they pulled out of their arses that infidelity is the end of the world.

It is particualrly jarring when we see this in terms of a drama set in more than half a century ago when gay people were pressured and forced by their families, friends and the entire society (sometimes their own self-loathing too, as a direct consequence of the forementioned pressure) to comfort into straight relationships and/or marriages and then live their own selves in secret relationships in the shadow.

The most atrocious thing is that these folks no doubt consider themselves LGBT allies only for watching BL-themed dramas while they have zero emapthy or compassion for what these people had to (and in some places still have to) go through to survive.

This series was not hyped at all, especially compared to other Domundi projects. And as quite a few have already elaborated the fact is the show delivers pretty decent views an fares rather well on its platfroms And those define the level of success more objectively, not essays of disapproval from some users on a marginal American hobby site infamous for its bias, peer pressure and inbred nature.

I have zero intention of protecting NP. I am not its fan and it certainly doesn’t need my protection anyway. As I see it is fairly successful on its own and I have learnt long ago that mydramalist has as much relevance to actual quality as farts have in a seastorm. Neither I have denied there aren’t dozens of cliches. My point is that they are mostly excuses which people happily overlook elsewhere.

I have never said NP is particularly original, let alone flawless, but why not going on with the strawman argument instead , for sure. My exact point was that most of the criticisms are vastly out of proportion and people nitpick about everything here and overlook anything there, depending on hype or which bandwagon they fancy to jump on. I personally enjoy it on a moderate level, I am not crazy about it but it is spectacular and quite telling how many people apparently hell bent on whining over it even after 13 episodes rather than leaving it behind if it bores them as much as they claim.

That is another display of the irrationality of the bandwagons of unabashed hate and unabashed adulation.

I love Revenged Love and it has a well-deserved hype for the decent and refreshingly comic-toned perfoprmances of the 4 protagonists but the plot is actually the oldest fuyoshi BL cliché in the universe (straight guy is being transformed into "I am gay only fo you" out of a vengeful scheme to seduce the boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend) and the narrative has been nothing but the most tired rinse and repeat of misunderstandings and miscommunications tarted up with equally tired and camp uke-seme tropes.

Like I said, I enjoy watching it a lot, don't get me wrong, but I find it hilarious how people crucify much smaller narrative flaws in The Next Prince while happily overlook bigger ones in Revenged Love, for instance.

So from now on, could you all

a) scaremongering gloom and doom hobby panic folks who believed China can ban a show over its borders
b) certified and delegated CCP trolls
