Someone posted that some people gave low rating to boost another drama (and I don't understand the logic for this kind of attitude) but I guess if people don't like it because of their bias then 🤷‍♀️
But the douban score for this drama is high, 8 if I'm not mistaken.

This is not the typical rich guy-poor girl or boss-employee drama (in modern c-dramaland).
The ml is very understanding, considerate, & funny too. He's not a jerk who bullies his crush to get her attention. He knows his own privilege & uses it for good things. I really love his banter with the fl & can understand why she falls in love with him. The drawback probably is up to now I don't know what his flaw is. He has the quality of good sml who causes SML syndrome😅
The fl is brave, independent, & have strong sense for justice. She's a bit annoying in the beginning but it's because she misunderstood the ml. She has her own insecurity but she communicates it with the ml so I don't see any potential unnecessary misunderstanding causing them to breakup. I think her character is more balanced with strength & weakness compared to the ml.
The second couple is also lovely. Really love them too.
Supportive parents from both sides.
No love triangle, less angst.

It's hard to maintain good story for 40 eps modern drama, I think. The formula is predictable, the leads will separate at latter ep & make up at the last ep. IF this drama was 40 eps, I hoped it could break free from that formula, something like the leads had a fight (or more) over difference in opinions. They could show us the ups and downs of their relationship but they would stick together til the end and maybe in the last ep it showed both of them in their old age reminiscing their past 😆😆😆

Yes, those in LBFAD comment section explain it too & at that time I saw some clips that Dylan is learning to adjust his accent (?) or some sort so hopefully in the future we can see him as a lead with his own voice.

After I knew that BY soul is gone 🤯🤯🤯🤯😲😲😲 (WHAT? WHEN? HOW???😦) and mama Jin's plan on using BY body for childbearing 😰🤢 (she is indeed one heartless beach 🤬)

Maybe I should rewatch s1 as I have more questions now. 😞

Now I have a (wicked) thought that they wanna do it not to fix the mistake but to milk the viewers/gain profit only. The 2nd cp screentime isn't the only problem. The script, for a start, is below average. Lots of commenters here have already mentioned the plot holes & characters flaws. Then, there's the case of bad editing, which is worse because they cut some relevant scenes of the main cp. Sometimes the transition between stories (of the main cp & 2nd cp) isn't smooth either. And ofc the release of subbed eps which causes frustration for international audience because it's 9-10 eps behind the latest eps.
It's good if there are fans who wait for 2nd season, but personally I think if they wanna redeem it they better change the production team... Or maybe make a completely new drama with new characters (main cp still Esther & Vin, but they are not MR & ZY) & excellent production team too.

Finally the waiting is over & I can finish it. Still I think this would be a more enjoyable watch in 24-eps (or less) format focusing on the main cp. It's a light, full-of-tropes drama which shouldn't be taken seriously. Something to watch to wind down maybe. MR & ZY's chemistry is the only reason I keep watching AROTLF & I really like seeing ZY arc after his return. He smiles, teases, & jokes more compared to his former cold & serious demeanor. Another good point is the love rivals (from both sides) stood no chance at all & no misunderstanding caused by them dragging the plot.
I never thought this before but who is the inventor/maker of FF button? I should thank that person for saving me tremendously from wasting my time on 2nd cp story 🤭

I think so in cdramaland (idk if in rl it's accurate or not). From cdramas that I've watched, if the parents don't approve of their son/daughter's lover then the couple has to convince the parents first. After the parents agree, they will give the household register so the couple can get married. This might be because marriage is a family matter & filial piety is highly valued.

You need your household register to apply for marriage license. Some people steal it to get married secretly/without parents' consent (like what ml's parents did back then). Pls cmiiw
