Honestly I didn’t particularly enjoy that the romance of this show is so dragged. I do think they should have sprinkled a little more romantic tension as we went, or some light affection. Really she seems to just friendzone prince the entire time until the last minute and by that point it feels weird. Romance for romance sakes. Final epilogue is a gorgeous surprise. Best I can give this is 6 because theres no way i will watch this again. Jae Yi deserved love at the end.
Can someone spoil me .. when did they get together? Any breakup after getting together? Couldnt find the answers…
Yes they break up or attempt to at least. There is a ton of stupidity thats pulled straight from an early 2000s drama of unnecessary angst. of course they resolve it.
Wooden acting, bad script, weirdly paused editing, the memory with immediate flashbacks we didn’t need to get…
Honestly almost every trope was in this show, every little one, apart from granny not writing a check or throwing water, we were almost there. Ridiculous too since the whole reason they were saved from financial ruin was FL. I guess that part got overlooked.
Wooden acting, bad script, weirdly paused editing, the memory with immediate flashbacks we didn’t need to get the point, and ridiculous predictable ex.
I was 1000% shooting for a 10 rating with this show, it was giving high quality in plot and script, all the right…
Also can’t stand it when they make a big deal out of age difference with one couple - that had only 1 yr between them irl, and the mains have a 10yr gap lol irl.
I was 1000% shooting for a 10 rating with this show, it was giving high quality in plot and script, all the right chemistry and tension. And then the weird really off conversation happens post airport and none of it made sense. I’m already a big hater of Netflix subbers. They change the meaning of things all the time. My Korean is intermediate level so I can’t tell all the time, especially when dialogue gets complex but I know enough to get frustrated with the lazy way subs are done on that platform. They throw in swearing when they don’t swear. They throw in “isms” when they aren’t implied. The argument made zero sense in this case, and it off centers the entire story. We then get endless episodes of oddities, and while I appreciate the Dorami stuff was a major part of the FLs story, I wish they hadn’t done that, because those first 6 episodes were incredible. The chemistry disappeared in my opinion the further this dragged on. So much didn’t make sense. But stick with it if you care to see the resolution. I ended with an 8, because you can’t ignore the overall idea and acting. I just wish it had not fallen off so greatly.
I was all set to rate this one higher near the beginning but it totally flatlines for a good chunk in the middle with far too much filler, we hardly see the leads, and the dialogue is a stuck record. Then the ending neither great or awful. Satisfactory I guess but wasn’t for me. Still giving it a 7 for the main concept and leads acting was fantastic for both of them.
Prior to starting this, I came across complaints from some saying this drama was slow and boring. By principal to my sanity I don’t start dramas until the entire thing is dropped because I’m a binger and always will be. Which then makes it really challenging to avoid all the spoilers and whining online. Honestly it was up against Speed and Love which started strong, even while tolerating Esther being well, Esther. ;) But that show tanked for me at 2/3 and went south FAST, and never really recovered from the trash the writers pulled on the ML. So I opened my mind and threw myself into this drama.
Sadly I began to agree early on the episodes were draggy and slow with too much back history and school stuff and our ML nowhere in sight. In stories you need some kind of interaction between your main protagonists, we are just over here wondering when and then it never happens for like loads of episodes. I didn’t feel like this really took off for me until they finally did, and after that it was wonderful. Sure, it feels like the in your face obnoxious sponsors were the Chinese PV industry lolololol, and clearly theres far too much office business yapping, but the writers kept it mature and conflict’s united instead of dividing and I’ve been desperate for that to finally happen in a cdrama.
A little lengthy, and all the big time gaps were daft because no one aged, barely gave them a new hair style, should have been shorter. Your not convincing me SWLis supposed to be 42 lol, good thing they didn’t show the 16 yo cousin they tried to pass off as a college kid at the age of 32 cos that would have been hilarious 😆😆😆😆😆
Still all things considered this was a genuinely lovely show. Not likely to watch again, but thank you china for staying in this pattern of quality romance plots.
This feels just like the vertical dramas, short and tropey, but most of all because the incessant attacks on the fl are never ending one after the other just like the shorts. However, thankfully the ml has half a brain and wises up quickly and the teamwork that pursues is genius. I’m glad however when it finally wrapped. I feel exhausted.
OK here goes. So much of this show in the beginning was so good. The plot, the racing, the location, the cast. The complexity of their past and current situation. The chemistry between these 2 for the first 15 episodes was absolute fire. And then, not long after, quite predictably it went off the rails, excuse the pun. The writers dipped into tired old trope after another. Editing got choppy and confusing. The plot made zero sense and made us all angry. For a really long time. Too long. Even after the resolution it felt hard to believe that things could be patched up. Plot holes, flashbacks. Just when you are so tempted to let the plane wreck go, theres a pull back, though it never quite goes there. Never quite feels like we returned or improved on the past. I mean don’t get me wrong theres a beautiful relationship here too even in the end. But the intimacy and chemistry is no longer there in all the scenes like it does at the start. Far fewer kisses. Maybe thats the maturity they are going for. Biggest gripe, try keeping tabs on how old they are or what time passed. At some point Mumu says they only dated for a week. Like what? That was the longest week that felt like months of our lives lol. Great show, just wish writers hadn’t reverted to boring old stupid tropes 2/3 of the way in. Like for reals can we keep momentum can we keep it fresh can we keep it real? Can we find a solution to problems WITHOUT forced separation for exhaustingly long periods??? Anyone???!!! He Yu is an eye candy king and as long as you are used to Esther, being well Esther, you’ll be fine. Great pairing.
And, for whoever casted Mike D Angelo - thank you!! So good to see him again!!!
Acting is wooden. Script is stolen from the early 2000’s, and theres zero chemistry between them.
What a crying shame.
