Typical Kdrama action show, lots of blood and gore, seemingly impossible fight. Loads of death. Random humor spread out sufficiently to keep us all sane amidst the chaos. Inconsistent policing, and the usual not getting rid of the baddies when you have the chance, because, conscience thus more good people needlessly die…

Great match up with Lee Sangyi and Woo Do Hwan - they carried this show.

Must Watch? Hardly. Tops I’m giving this mess of a drama is 7. Come on you guys, clearly everyone in the viki comments is irritated no end all the way through. Its childish and like a bunch of teens playing office for far too many episodes and finally we get some action to the draggy stare down nothing’s happening romance, and then a pile of silly jealousy scenes, idiotic non communication and well, you know the drill. Wouldn’t watch this again if you paid me. The writers are idiotic and sadly the actors aren’t given much to work with. I’m being generous here. Truly.

Overall a well written drama, the leads for the most part are great, there are a handful of stereotypical nonsense type lines and behaviors I could do without, but overall I felt like they pulled it off well. I was more interested in their story than the side plots thrown in, tho the side stories do feed into the main so they are needed to give the show some depth. Lots of parts were skippable, sadly. I could have done without the poessiveness of the 2FL - really even tho both her and the other ex, the 2ML were both extremely possessive.. hers was irritating and entitled, never a good look. The constant “ownership” mentality thats portrayed in Asian dramas by exes who return demanding to refill the hole they left despite their own earlier choices is just plan obnoxious.

The 2ML however had a fantastic arc, one that i actually found very gripping. He also acted the role with skill. You start off thinking he is just being jealous, and then dangerous, but actually build empathy in the journey as you discover more information and I really found myself emotionally engaged in his side plot. His arc gave me a lot of empathy towards that character. So different from the snotty “I’m so beautiful” mesn girl behavior we got from the 2FL, that was just fake and shallow.

Loved it! Although I'd have loved it even more if they had planned a couple more eps, showing how Su Hyeok becomes…
agreed.

Love! Can we have more of this kind of mature dramas please. Love to Hate You, Business Proposal and now True to Love. 💕💕💕

I gave this show 9.5. I think my only thing that kept me from giving this a solid 10 was the lack of growth was missing from the ML. His moment to actually tell the FL how he felt was perfectly set up there after the final confrontation with her ex. Perfect location at Cheonggyecheon stream bridge, but his response/script given us completely underwhelming. THAT was the moment for him to show his character growth, and express clearly his feelings. That one moment with a better script woukd have strengthened this entire show.

So many momemts of tension and chemistry kind of lost too in the editing and script. Not quite sure why this show was a PG-13 either.

10/10 Drama. Came for Woo Bin. Stayed for the rest of the cast and the plot. Loved it. Last episode was amazing if not a bit rushed.

Not the greatest of dramas and certainly on that list of one time watch only, but it’s got some spunk. It does great at tension building the main romance, but sadly once we got there, the constant interference of 2ML became more silly than annoying. This is a cast of fairly mature actors and I’d like to see more behavior appropriate for their age when relationships are established. If they are in their 30’s and up, we gotta stop the silly childish nonsense, and accept they are going to be intimate too at some point. They are not high school kids and should know ny now how to handle commitment.

It gets uber flat and draggy as we depart from the romance creation to just a really boring story about her job that he does most of the work for anyway. The kisses stop and chemistry goes out the window. They may as well be platonic roomies by the end. 🤣

Could have been edited down to 16, theres some super draggy parts, and the title makes zero sense at all. However the friendships and the mystery that keeps you guessing is great. The evil King is a total rat lol and it’s a very satisfying ending.

Not bad show, easy watch - lots of chemistry and kisses between the leads, so romance lovers will like it. It’s not to be taken too seriously at times though-as it can get a lot silly. There’s some obvious errors too but you can overlook it for a feel good drama that was a needed break while watching a very heavyweight serious show.

someone please tell me this is going to get better.. I’m at ep 25 and this is just one giant toxic circle of crazy. I feel sucked in but thinking I gotta take a break before I loose my mind, and if there’s no happy ending I don’t know if I can handle more of this for 15 more episodes!! 🤣🙃🤪😭😭😭

OK. Upfront I’m just gonna admit that without even watching a minute I was in love because I adored these 2 in Once We Get Married, and had seen a couple tiktok clips and I was just waiting for it all to drop in order to start. QuanQuan the little prince star of the show kiddo is the MAIN EVENT. He makes all the scenes with him extra, and he is the absolute best. He has great lines throughout. Hardy is a total clown but we all love him. The nasty sleezes are as expected and typical cdrama sleezes with the extra bit of criminal on the side. The father son duo is on point throughout. There was not one moment that wasn’t adorbs, or funny, or emotional. Chefs kiss. This show is winning for episode after episode and then CRASH AND BURN the writers loose their total minds and give us endless stupid nonsense of things that don’t matter. You have your typical cdrama female trope if saying their peace then slow-mo stomping off before the man can explain anything, over and over again. They all do it, multiple times. Give it a freaking rest!! The plot takes a total dive, we didn’t need the drama. Honestly its 2023, lets have real life issues and see these leads tackle them head on TOGETHER!!! I loved there was no interfering cdrama parents. I loved that the ML is constant in his love (once he gets beyond his initial issues) throughout and there is no annoying exes. Once we get the script back on track, the drama recovers its earlier feel of a great drama. Theres a handful of plot holes that never get explained. These 2 behave a lot like they did in their other drama, theres lots of kissing scenes and affection. Love this show! It’s a perfect second chance romance story (minus the dive in the middle).

I have seen a few Republican era Cdramas now and I had such high hopes. This drama starts off well, and has a great premise. Then we are fed endless circles of plot and dialogue between the leads, that starts to get irritating. About 2/3 of the way in we suddenly see a change and the plot picks up and gives us something to get excited about again.. a couple of good episodes to yes, you guessed it, return to self pity self righteous nonsense from the FL again. Nothing learned and nothing gained it seems. Ending could be considered nice but hardly. You don’t even know if its real or imagined. What I would have LOVED the writer to do with this, post all the healing, connecting scenes would have the FL act like she learnt something show some trust in her man, and have them together become the power couple fighting injustice they could have been. It would have been incredible and I could have put the first 2/3 of the drama behind me as a learning curve. But nah, we got a return to behaviors of the start and left us feeling disengaged, zero empathy for her cause. ML part was written well. He acted it well, and was for the most part left out on the ledge his leading lady who could care less about ALL the stuff he did for her. He remained true and loyal in his love for her and sacrificed it all for her to stay stuck up and disappear. What a sad and stupid plot. 7/10 is generous.

Despite the severe toxicity of some of the clichéd tropes in this show, it is a classic jdrama through and through. I don’t mind that. They are a league of their own 😎

Was this worth watching, no. Did I watch it through to the end, yes.

It’s the kind of show you can watch if you need to fill time between the shows you really want to watch. Its dumb fluff and thats about it. They mistitled this and should have been called Single Man. Really? My Girlfriend? Maybe if there was a sequel. It’s the show that gives more time to the second lead than the first, and writers drag and drag until the point of exhaustion. You’ll skip smd skip your way through this. Worth maybe a 6/10 for the times it wins.

Also, it put me off ice cream for a while. So overdone 🤮🤮🤮
