On Love in the Edge of Divorce Apr 20, 2025
OK hear me out. I’m gonna give it a 9 for fun, crazy, cheesy, romance and chemistry. But I’m removing 4 because the level of toxicity and plot holes in this show are off the charts. The bad guys just disappear or getaway with it. The ML is beyond rough at times. The delulu girls have dumb reasons. The gpa could have easily vouched for FL. The pathological liar that she is was the biggest turn off. She lied so much and that caused her fathers death yet she blamed everything on the fact he wanted nothing to do with his “wife” who quite frankly she made no effort to connect with. She plays a victim card all the way thru. He saves her life or virtue literally a billion times, and she still is rude. Guys if you come across a woman like this, run for your lives. A bit of smarter writing could have made for a better show even with all the funny table jumping, beam me up scotty out of nowhere, cringy lines. 4/10
On Warm Meet You Apr 19, 2025
This is anything but a 9.0 (on viki) rating. It has every single trope known to man. Unrealistic 20 somethings CEOs of all the gaming companies. They seem to have the ability to beam themselves instantly to places in seconds. FL has zero logic at the first sign of trouble. Everyone seems extremely immature and silly. This is the worst example of what real love is about. You always hope with these shows it might get better. Stuck it through albeit with a fair amount of skipping for my own sanity, yeah at best this thing is a 6 and it’ll be forgotten soon.

Personally I don’t think the ratings are high enough for this. Hidden Love it is not, but I got a similar vibe…
I didn’t care too much about the anime/comic plot, even tho I know its probably the whole point. Just skipped those parts, and enjoyed the boarding lol
On Ski into Love Apr 14, 2025
Personally I don’t think the ratings are high enough for this. Hidden Love it is not, but I got a similar vibe from the production styling of this show. The slower pace, the music, the camera shots. The two main leads pulled off the chemistry even though Esther can be real hard to take as a cutesy almost 30 yo, but its who she is and we know that. The scenery is stunning and it was fun to see them include northern culture thats not usually in the average cdrama. Snowboarding is a fun sport, and they shot that part of the story well. The side characters were all fun, though I don’t think it ever gets explained whether her bestie is just obnoxious or she has sone kind of issue with Yan. Would have loved for that sub plot to be padded out. Typical judgy parentals - wish they’d give that trope a rest in 2025. Can ai just acknowledge that while I have no problem with a uber rich FL wearing a different outfit every day on the entire story - assuming these are all Esthers, because the clothing budget must have been extortionate lol- but can we realistically have her travel with the 10 suitcases that would require because theres no way you’re convincing any of us all that fit in one bag 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Also, while I enjoyed all the relationship development- I am so tired of ridiculous break up tropes that have no weight to them. There’s a few that happen here and it’s like watching teenagers with no brains make decisions. Since when are you going to sort your life out better by splitting up? Unless you have space issues, I’m pretty sure you can sort your career and still date or have a simple joint conversation to discuss resolution. It was skippable. Mature adults usually have conversations. I mean at least give us something valid, even the typical no dating rule for training would have been more believable than that!!!!!

HEA - mostly sweet drama, lots of romance, kisses are ok, don’t think Esther moves her mouth once but thats ok ML pulls it off like usual in a cdrama. 🤣

Worth a watch.

It hasn't been finished yet due to ZLS's illness. Be patient, if she feels she can come back to finish it, she…
Sometimes its to do with dialects, and they want a different voice.

Title Undercover High School Spoiler
Was looking forward to this and waited to binge. Disappointed in the lack of romance for a show tagged with that label. It was at times funny and sweet and other times downright annoying filled with plot holes. They didn’t sell me on the Quiznos lol, I’m sure they enjoyed their one bites of a sandwich and the predictable “hmmmmm” selling lol in these shows.

Evil Chairwoman did fantastic in her role, but not believable that a school chairwoman had that much reach to manipulate a whole system, that then eventually prosecuted her, so thats a bit daft. You’re telling me one Director of NIS also had that much pull? I mean theres zero explanation why any of her henchman were doing scumbag things for her.

OK ending but those last handful of episodes were rushed.
On The Potato Lab Apr 7, 2025
Started out fairly decent, and opportunity for some chemistry burn… burned out. There is literally no plot. far too much screaming and angry nonsense from FL and her bestie. I didn’t understand the massive hate for ML with his big reveal, after all he was doing his job, meanwhile the ex scumbag was the cause of the problem and she had no problem meeting with him and talking like a normal person. The comedy is overrated and not even funny. I tried to like this, I finished it. There are some nice moments but literally no sizzle between these leads, and that seems to be the way of things so far in 2025 kdramas. Nothing has hit the jackpot quite like WTPR, come on Korea where is your good writing? Perhaps its pairing, casting, directing who knows but its been a real disappointment.
On My Dearest Nemesis Apr 3, 2025
Geez what is up with the reviews on here lol!!! So glad I took Viki’s rating as reason to watch and didn’t check here at all. I enjoyed this, it kept me bingeing from ep to ep, sure there are annoying parts, all dramas have them - but they kept the parts relatively short which was appreciated. Yes Granny is awful as all get out-its part of the plot.

Not overly strong in the chemistry department but they pulled off a cute love story. Worth the watch.

Title You Are My Lover Friend Spoiler
Not sure how I’m feeling. The pace is horrendously slow the more this developed. Started out slow then quickly gained some fun momentum with a lot of looks and feelings that grew the chemistry quick. Then like some cdramas are prone to slow the heck down like a sloth. This should have been 16-20 ep tops. We could have held onto some realistic scenes of new couples, and ones that behave like 30 somethings not middle school. FL I am such a big fan of but directing and writing was so disappointing. They made her into a frustrating character. Interruptions are funny for about 5 minutes, and the repetitive nature of that was infuriating. Please portray these relationships better China. Both Hidden Love, First Frost and eventually Amidst a snow storm all had very typical loving relationships. Not FL acting like shes 15.

And honestly my fave couple completely dropped off the charts. Dumb. What a waste of time even bothering with it.
On You Are My Hero Mar 25, 2025
Lacking. In reality. Decent writers and plot. Romance. Middle school hugging is not romance Director. Clearly ML knows how to freaking kiss (First Frost) so I am assuming this was an issue with FL or some kind of censorship. Either way this show had way too many fillers and distractions from what could have been a great story. At best 8.

Title The Witch
Started this show due to the name and the premise, and I think it started out strong. This show was about right in length but far too much drag in the middle. We didn’t need so many flashbacks and quite honestly ML could have wrapped his research up faster. I didn’t mind the length of time for them to connect, it weirdly worked out fine for this story. But this drama ended far too quickly with too many unanswered questions at the end.

This isn’t the romance drama you might be looking for. It’s extremely EXTREMELY light sadly, because they could have ended much more satisfyingly. Hence I have given this 7 stars. Interesting concept but a little lacking. Incredible acting by leads.

Well, that wrapped up nicely, and panned out to be a better drama than I was expecting. Mostly because for the…
One big frustration was the netflix subber not giving us those episode titles… I loved them in HL, they fit the episodes perfectly, and I feel like there was something to them here too, however they didn’t get translated and that was ODD.
On The First Frost Mar 17, 2025
Well, that wrapped up nicely, and panned out to be a better drama than I was expecting. Mostly because for the first time in a ZRN drama, she actually kissed her co-star properly-SHOCKER. I was surprised by the qty of kisses and intimacy we got here, all of which felt extremely natural and organic. Theres nothing worse in a romance drama when once the couple agree to date the romance drops out the picture. This one gives very realistic vibes as is the angst they both go thru all those years of longing. They dealt with the difficult abuse scenes sensitively too, and they could be some challenging viewing so be warned if things like that are a trigger to you. It took me a while to not be frustrated Victor Ma was not leading this role, and, I’m not sure BJT ever pulled off the brute behavior that was so adorable as Sang Yan in Hidden Love. But he won me over, already a big fan of him which is honestly why I even gave this a try as the FL drives me nuts in other shows. Both of them pulled off a stellar show. I think the one thing that felt off to me was the side characters Zhi & Jia Xu - while smartly they kept them out of the main core of the drama- didn’t really cast them very well. Jia Xu didn’t look like any kind of college heart throb, cute yes, but not exactly a head turner, that would have been Sang Yan in my opinion, and Sang Zhi was not old enough to fit the timeline of Hidden Love. I understand not casting the same people (though that would have been amazing), but they aged her character weirdly. Especially in the College graduation scenes Zhi still looks like a middle schooler, yet we know she was in High School when her brother graduated. Also wished in the family scene near the end Jia Xu could have been present, because they probably were. For sure this is a heavier themed, slow burn than Hidden Love which felt lighter and fluffier, but it was still a great production. I’m not sure I could “enjoy” a rewatch, for the dark stuff, whereas I’ve seen HL like 4 times already 😆but we’ll see. Nice job.
On Perfect Match Mar 11, 2025
I’m not quite sure why I’m struggling with this drama. I’ve watched it thru ep 14 and just feeling bored and started skipping. It dropped off fast after the first couple getting together, perhaps because of the Netflix cover you have the impression its just about them. It’s certainly not. Well I think I might have to drop this sadly.
