Thank goodness this wasn’t a cdrama. Going by the % of time the FL two timed and then hooked up with SML, we’d have had to endure 38 episodes of FL x SML relationship.
Far too little guy with the star of the show, and I can’t stand rushed endings like that. Wow, she realized she wanted him as he was leaving her, whoopie lady for taking so long to catch on. At that point I didn’t give a hoot that she was sad. Couldn’t stand her by then.
Clearly from the reviews many are salty about the last episode. It is what it is with time travel dramas, however I will agree the writers could have written some clever plot to go there.
This drama was fantastic for almost the entirety of it. There are some weird edits, when we skip forward a large chunk of time, and its a but jarring. However, the way this was written for the first 2/3 was pretty decnt, The leads are a good match, and I loved that relationship development. All the characters had some great moments in their own right. I didn’t feel the need to skip much. Although I love these shorter cdramas, I am feeling it should have been to resolve this more satisfying. I took off 2 stars on my rating fir the way this wrapped and for the ridiculous sub plot written for the FL when she acts like a self righteous child, accusing ML of the exact same thing she did, but somehow she has a free ride??? She was so frustrating for a little while there.
Can’t tell from the comments but I’m getting the vibe this Romance tagged show is not a romance or it at least failed at one? Wondering if I should even start. There seems to be a trend right now that shows that tag as romance or have a very romance feel poster, turns out mega disappointing. Korea, stop gaslighting and lying to grab the audience numbers you know a romance pulls, without delivering a happy romance. Tiring.
Im having a huge problem with this childish show. Does anything actually become mature in any of the plot or characters?!?! Why are the reviews so high? What am I missing. Ready to drop..
Well , it was nice nothing new , you have probably seen the trope million time so its not going to be a new experience…
Its quintessentially Korean. That is how they are as a people. Especially the younger gens. Wear the same clothes- style their hair the same, whatever the new trend. To an obsession. I don’t get it personally but then I don’t live in that culture. My daughter did for quite a while and she was always been questioned with distaste for not wanting to dress and style like them. she could not help them understand that being different is actually something to celebrate. Thats why its always presented this way in their TV. It is who they are.
Sure, its one of the better military cdramas that have been made, incredible fight scenes for both leads, but the script and plot holes were ridiculous and as this show progressed it was clear something was a little off. I was about to throw hands in those last few episodes and it felt like killing off people hadn’t been done enough so a token one was needed. Nice optics, the FL plays her part well. Just the writing fell way short to make this a 10 star performance.
Quite different for FZX, not so much firey angst, domination etc we usually get from him but still plenty kisses. Swoon.
For once I’d love for him to get a shot at a big budget, he’s a great actor with a massive range in acting and he would be great, but they love giving him the soapy tropey ones still.
OSTs were very knock off some kdramas, especially Cinderella and the Four Knights. I mean come on can’t you do something original?!?!
Its a rough first 3 episodes with the FL so hang in there.
Sad. I thought this was going to be a zinger of a show. Best I can do is 7/10. It got so boring but I needed to finish it. FL role was so terribly written. Turns at the flash of a wim and everything is about her and her own pain majority of the time. And the horrid baby voice when interacting with ML is so obvious compared to when she’s in full on businesswoman mode. Can’t stand that. ML is emotionless most the time. Best part of their whole interaction is when things get tense with the secrets and business stuff half way thru, I was thinking at last we have a story. Second couple were by far the most interesting. Theres moments in this show that are sweet, but mostly theres just a lot of bad acting all round. Shame.
Great show but you will miss a ton of text on screen because I highly believe IQIYI don’t have actual subbers. it must be auto translated from sound with zero editing. They never get the right gender most the time because its the same sound in chinese - just the written word is different between the 2. And when there is no human that means we never get the visual translations either, and there is A LOT in this show, I felt like we are missing out. i know some Chinese but not enough to keep up with that. Shame.
This show got real confusing towards the end and while its ok, it missed an opportunity. Sad.
Excited at first to see a cdrama version of Marry my Husband. Korean or Japanese version this is NOT. This is the short Temu version.
Also figured it might have some great chemistry at least, it’s missing despite our cdrama shirtless hottie in it. He’ll eat your face in a kiss but it ain’t happening with this actress. Zero chemistry.
What to say? Started out SO strong and extremely typical with FZX’s typical character he gets cast as, though we don’t mind, he pulls it off well. I’m always amazed a fairly young actor is giving mid 30s. The FL also was great tho the constant makeup was awful. I feel we got one scene near the end where she didn’t have a face full of makeup. This wannabe soap opera was all kinds of soaping and I hate that so much. Can someone please give FZX a better script! It turned so toxic and trashy real fast. The relationship really lost its zing early on too. They became a little old married couple and felt dead in the water.Still yet to find something as solid as My Lethal Man, but not a bad attempt. I skipped the entire breakup part, ugh leads just went off the rails. For the heck of dragging a script out, writers don’t do it. Either come up with something more intelligent or cut your show down 10-20 episodes. 🤣
Looks to be some conflict in opinion over whether the K or J version is better. I adore the leads of the K version and it was a 10 for me and in my top 5 of the release yr. I love jdramas though so was so excited to see this one. There’s certainly enough differences to not feel like its back to back the same show, some scenerio’s were better in one and vice versa, and this is only 10 episodes so theres plenty cut out. I’m on the fence, if you had to push me, I’d say I liked the Korean one better, the ending is more put together and better written. There’s tons of toxicity in both but a well thought out revenge story non the less. Satoh makes this show though, without him I’m not sure I’d have seen this through. Fantastic makeovers for FL, wow. Worth the watch but only a 8.5 for me.
Despite Korean production-the OST is 100% jdrama lol, can’t be getting away from it.
I had hoped it would place up there with “What Comes After Love” and “Eye Love You” for Korean infused jdrama, sadly it didn’t quite.
Probably unpopular opinion on how others are rating this drama. Best I wanna do is 7. It was so incredibly frustrating from start to finisj. The script for the leads is rough. It’s a hard watch, because its dark and exhausting. Not really my kind of show but I watch. Sometimes they grow on me, this one didn’t. I speed watched almost the entire thing.
Acting is 10/10, story/script wore me out. 5/10. Hence, overall 7/10. Would not rewatch.

Dumb show.

Clever unique suspense filled drama.

Overall its a soapy mess times a thousand.
