I don't get the low rating? This drama deserves at least an 8.7. This drama was amazing! I loved Seok Hee's character as a whole, her weaknesses made her more human to me. She IS a strong woman. She fails, yes, a lot, but the point is, SHE GETS BACK UP EVERY TIME. That's what I define a strong person as. It's not a matter of how many times you win, but whether you are able to get back up when someone keeps pushing you down.
I came here for his latest dramas, only to find out about this. I'm so sad right now. He was my fav japanese actor. Loved him in boku no ita jikan and bloody monday especially. RIP T . T
If this is a "good" lakorn, I'd hate to see what you guys consider a "bad" one. I have been forcing myself to…
Sameeee. I initially liked the first 3 eps before all this hacker BS came about. I doubt a person can change her character overnight and even if that is true, if she's been able to put on a mask of a stupid girl for so long, then she should be smart enough to know that the guy has 0 interest in her. Yes, the guy is an ass too, which is very common in lakhorns but I despise the girl even more. Why can't she take no as an actual NO. He's not even trying to give her mixed feelings, he's been as harsh to her as possible but she kept romanticizing even the cruel things he did. Tying her up, locking her in a room, throwing her into the tiger's den(aka Pondayt) is not smth u do even to a "sister", needless to say, a wife. Well, some might think it's not as harsh as other lakhorns where there's rape, strangling, attempted murder, basically most of the things you see happening to Yada in this drama so they think this is fine.
And gosh, the guy's mother is even worse. She's trying to force them into becoming a real couple when her son clearly despised the idea very much. 10 million baht for a divorce? What a scam. Forcing him to stay with her when he doesn't like her, only makes their married life even worse. She might be happy now, but later she would regret marrying a guy who doesn't even love her.
I'm going to try watching till ep 12 since some say last few eps are the best.
Unexpected find. Went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised at how informative this drama was. Though there were way too many problems happening to one family to be considered realistic, the issues they tackled were mostly real problems. Acting was so-so. Overall, a good watch. Recommended to those looking to watch pregnancy dramas especially among older women.
Wow, it went down from a 8.9 to a 8.4. Did it get that bad? I haven't watch this yet, but as someone who loved both the taiwanese and the korean version, and the couple from The Eternal Love, this is just sad. >.<
I'm looking forward to this! I'm here for Dilraba Dilmurat! One of the best chinese actresses in my list and I really feel she would suit this role perfectly, don't understand why the others are so against it. I'm used to seeing Zhao Lu Si in rom coms or lighthearted historicals, I like her too and am looking forward to seeing her in a different kind of drama :)
Not bad, rather than politics, I think this one is more on the romance. It's about how obsessive and possessive…
Not my first time watching a drama where the main lead is truly evil(Scarlet Heart Ryeo being another example) but here, you can tell the king never loved Li Er. Li Er was just an object of his obsession. You don't force a woman you truly love into coming to you, you never whip the woman you love, you would never attempt to kill her child, you wouldn't doubt her and you would never have her tortured. How can I ship them when all he's been doing from the start till the end is force her to choose him?
*tons of spoilers about story below*
Firstly, her son. Omg, I can understand why he would want to kill the baby but after he promised her he wouldn't kill her son because she would otherwise kill herself, he had been trying multiple ways to make her miscarry. On top of that, he separated her son from her after she gave birth. And then he used her son to keep her in the palace. He treated her son as a hostage. Even at the end when Li Er was in love with the king, she had to overhear the king saying he would make her son the crown prince so that she would be tied to him forever and she would never want to leave him. On top of that, he had no intentions of making her son the heir, in fact he was hoping his real son would kill her son and take over the throne. Whoa, what a bastard seriously.
Secondly, he was keeping her caged. He never trusted her from the start till the end. He had many spies around her, some of which whom she thought were friends but nope, they all betrayed her. When she got pregnant the second time with the king's child, at first the king was happy. But after she miscarried and the criminal claimed that the child could be her senior's and THE KING ACTUALLY STARTED BELIEVING THIS LIE, I was so pissed! Then he no longer was sad about the loss of her child cause the child could have been someone else's. Seriously frustrating man, if you can't trust her, why can't you just let her go live a carefree life? I feel so sad for her. For falling in love with a bastard who will never love her. He claims to love her, but the only thing he had done to respect her was never forcing her to sleep with him. THIS IS OBSESSION NOT LOVE! You don't want anyone to have her so you keep her, but then you don't ever trust her. Is she meant to be just a trophy on your shelf? NO DUDE.
*SPOILERS FOR ENDING*
Because of the reasons above, I was truly happy about the way the drama ended. I could never ship her with either of the guys and I shipped her with the eldest senior who loved her without expecting anything in return and sacrificed his life to save her son's. The senior brother she used to love was wavering with another girl even though he kept claiming he only loved Li Er but I don't believe him anymore. He couldn't even give up his revenge for his wife and child despite knowing he was walking to his death, because too many ppl's blood were in his hands now. He had to at least ATTEMPT to kill the king just so he could justify their deaths. And so he died and Li Er witnessed his death. And so she made the king kill her because she wanted him to experience the pain of losing someone you love. But the thing is, I believe the king never loved anyone in his life. Or if he really did, he's just awful at showing it. There were several instances that showed he regretted some of his decisions but a lot of things he did to his "loved ones" really makes me question whether he loved them at all.
And gosh, at the end when the senior brother was killed by the king and they showed a flashback of how all three of them met in their younger days and the senior brother helped to save the king. How did things become so messed up? If only they had never met when they were young, if only he had killed him back then, if only, if only.... Sigh....
Not bad, rather than politics, I think this one is more on the romance. It's about how obsessive and possessive a guy can be and to what extent he would go to, to make a woman his, even if she was somebody else's.
Also, don't trust the summary. He never treated the son as his. More in my reply.
