I've just started this and I'm halfway through the first episode and came here to read some comments and now I don't know if I wanna continue seeing so many frustrated coz of the lack of fl and ml scenes. Can someone tell me if there is good chemistry and progress of relationship between them? Because I don't wanna watch if the fl lead is gonna be hung up over another guy for the entirety of the drama.

At ep 10 and yang zi's character annoys me to no end. They had made her into such a pathetic character and what makes me mad is how she doesn't learn but also got a temper just bursting out on people who want to help her like god it makes me angry

Oh no, that won't happen for sure. It is a well edited show and too big a production for the time lapse and just narration. It will be a bit tight towards the ending episodes though I feel but hopefully it is executed well.

That I have no idea of, I've not read the novel.

Yeah that's what my worry is, I just want the episodes leading up to ending excuted well and not feel rushed like they are just tryna tie up ends to wrap it up and get done with it. Seen way too many c-dramas like that. Rarely do I come across some that do not leave something to be desired when it comes to the ending. I'll love the whole show and then the ending episodes would be just not it.

Oh I'm definitely enjoying it and I like the show, may be that is why I'm skeptical of how it'll be towards the end coz I want it to do well and also why I feel like 40 episodes are not enough. Whatever happens, I'm gonna like the show to end still. As you said, they can't have done it so well till now just to screw it up bad towards the end so I have faith in that.

Yeah I just hope it is executed well. I always fear for rushed dramas towards the ending so hope they manage it well but it will be tight as you said.

After watching the trailer till ep 32, I don't know how it's gonna go from there to end it properly in a good way in last 8 episodes. Like for some reason 40 episodes don't feel enough. It's like it's still building toward something. Bfx is yet to assume her position as queen feng xiyun, then there is the war, there is the marriage , ywn need to be taken care of too, the other anatgonists as well and all that in last 8 episodes

I've anticipated this for so long. I just know I'm gonna enjoy it however it turns out coz it has yang yang and I'm a sucker for costume dramas. A different kind of role for Zhao lusi too even though she has worked in many costume dramas before. Give me good cinematography, good action scenes choreo and chemistry with the leads and I'll be good.

Watching this and I'm at ep 27 and totally lost coz it's like parts of the episode are missing the way it's edited.
