Till now the writer has unravelled HDS's character in batches. Like being grumpy in first few eps, misunderstanding MKS in few eps, stricken by mysterious disease, acknowledging disease, going full on in recent eps. I can see writer will bring new changes to his character, which will show his other sides(coping with the rejection, fighting with his daughter and than ultimately winning over MKS) in upcoming eps. I think the writer stretched the courting scenes too long to fill the 50 eps 😅 and it doesn't hurt MDS and HDS look cute together.

I'll add one more point. HDS and MKS have spent quite the time together and have seen each-other's best and worst side in various circumstances. They also became fond of each other much before HDS's confession. So this case is considerably different than Seri and Ok Bun.

She was pretty when she was young. She ruined her face with excessive procedures. She is actually from very rich family. She could've have had best beauty treatments of the world. She is a good actress but current state of her face limits her chances of playing diverse characters.

Even people having surgeries don't have IV line on them all of time. The way ML and FL were moving during hospital stay could cause damage with real IV lines. 😅

The fl was also divorced with 3 children so ml had various things to consider before starting a new romance. HDS's children are all grown up and supportive while MDS has no children. Both of them don't have much that can hold them back except MDS's reluctance due to her dead husband. Her mother will gladly give her blessing to this match.
