I actually like Duean's character and can't understand why he would be off-putting to some here. I love his straight-forwardness…
"I love his straight-forwardness in flirting, the way he speaks, and that bit of jealousy there was just human rather than (excuse the ugly misogynistic term) bitchiness. Jealousy can be hard to contain, honestly, and it blinds us to our own behaviour."
This is how real people react. I don't see Duean Yi's behavior as "childish" or "off-putting", because he isn't acting nicely towards Nuea.
A good start. I love how flirty both Duean Yi and Plengrak were being with one another, from the moment they met. None of this, "I'm only interested in the coffee BS!" Duean Yi has put it out in the universe, that he wants Plengrak to be his future boyfriend.
The script for this series is not good at all. I feel that TPTB are trying to replicate the "soulmate" trope that Fluke and Ohm had as Pharm, and Dean in these new characters, Sun, and Khim. It's not working for me. Sun is too absent-minded. He's forgetting his guitar. Forgets his backpack. Forgets to get food for himself. This young man has some sort of illness, but can't take care of his own daily needs?! Khim is too rigid, yet also having a laissez-faire attitude about being on time for his music club?!
I am definitely intrigued by Khim's older brother Rain, because it's clear that ALL the boys want to come to his yard. Except, he's fixated on his Phayu.
Girl, tell them! They ask for new stories and healthy relationships but when you give it to them they hate it…
"they might also see a lot of themselves in Toh and they cant accept it so they'd take the easier way out aka hating on Toh."
Ding. Ding. Ding. Along with the "confusion" of why Nuea could possibly be attracted towards that type of man.
We can have BLs centered on a male college cheerleader, using another male college student (who also happens to be a musician) to be his fake boyfriend, in order to stop another male college student (who is a bit effeminate) from pursuing him, which eventually turns the fake relationship, into a real one. Yet, we cannot possibly comprehend this BL fantasy, of a nerdy, slightly effeminate male college student, being pursued HARD, by one of the most popular, attractive, sweet, attentive, and nice male senior, who is also sexually attracted towards him?!
"I don't like it when people compare this show to being as good as KinnPorsche. KinnPorsche has lots of character development and a really good story so comparing it to this hot mess isn't right."
The fans of this series, have an inferiority complex regarding KP. They've been desperately trying to make it seem like the setting of this series, is comparable to the violent world of KP. It makes absolutely no sense at all.
The hate the female characters in this got was ridiculous. Even the little girl. Like damn, she is just a child…
Yup. The dislike for even the female child character was ridiculous. Jeesh. I've literally never seen so much misogyny, coming from a viewing audience, which a majority is female based. It's weird, on top of an audience not wanting to see a male couple going through internal issues, that have nothing to do with 1) coming out, 2) cheating, or 3) parents not accepting your choices in your life.
When I read about the sequel, I was just glad that we were getting another season. I didn't put any unnecessary expectations/ wishes in seeing those two characters just being happy, in love, with no issues, because then: what's the point of doing a full season, with nothing to develop? If they had really wanted to go in that direction, the sequel could have just been a two hour film.
"Not keeping your characters in a social bubble, where they only interact with each other is a good thing. People have other people in their lives than just their romantic partners. For me, adding more characters, be it female or male, is a good thing. It adds depth and layers to the main ones. They interact differently with different people, we learn more about them thanks to these conversations."
Thank you. We literally cannot have these main male characters, and their storyline develop as a couple, if they only ever interact with one another. They have to be able to grow as individual characters, as well as a couple. So that should mean, that they have separate interests, goals, and friends from time to time.
I find it strange, that whenever a new character (especially if that character is a female), a majority of the viewing audience is immediately threatened by their presence. These main characters/pairings shouldn't solely exist in a bubble.
OMGhssiij season 2 was confirmed!!! This is my fav bl drama so if feels like a dream right now!! so happyhttps://www.instagram.com/p/Cf0roVZLzUz/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y%3D
