Ding. Ding. Ding. Thank you for pointing out, what some BL viewers, actually do find exciting, and intriguing for them. It is all the toxic parts of BL. The horrible tropes that are written, and drawn in the yaoi, and manwhas, that get adapted for TV series.

That special was really fun. I liked seeing the actors, being able to "swap" roles, even with it just being for fun. Barcode is just absolutely adorable, and I love how his older fellow actors, look after him.

Hallelujah!! Another refreshing thing that's amazing to note about Toh's character. He's an active, willing, and enthusiastic partner, in displaying sexual desire for Nuea, and is learning which buttons he can push, to turn him, and each other on.

In complete agreement with your post. Most of those "issues" are always pertaining to the characters of Jao, and Toh. Especially Toh, and it's just not only about his obessive, stalking behavior. It's about his looks, how he walks, talks, hell even how the character BREATHES bothers some viewers.

People have issues with how long it's taking for Jao to get over his fears, and concerns about Sky's attraction towards him. Someone, who has deep, long term issues with self-esteem, and self-image, are not going to change their view of themselves, instantly once someone else, professes interest in them romantically.

The situation with Daisy is interesting, because she's such a lovely, adorable, and funny (not to laugh at her, but to laugh with her) character, that viewers want to see her happy. She isn't viewed or seen as a joke, which helps to make the other "aunties" that are around her, to also not be seen or viewed as a joke.

I love how Nuea, Sky, and Intouch have been written for this TV adaption. They are emotionally open characters, not scared of pursuing their love interests, who also have the need to get confirmation that their love interests are also into them.

Well, if you didn't have that perspective, I am glad that you voiced your concerns about that scene, and I don't see your concerns as a "complaint". That's something that folks, should bring up and question, because it was an off-putting scene. When Sky explained (which he shouldn't have been put in that position to do so), why he had brought Jao to meet those "friends", those "friends" should have stopped their disbelief, and made them realize and acknowledge, that Sky had grown and changed from the person they new from before.

I also wondered how someone like Sky, could have friends like those, but then I realized that he was probably a totally different person in high school, and those "friends" kept expecting and seeing him as that version of the guy they knew back then. Sky probably thought that they would have been supportive of him, and his connection with Jao, since he brought him to meet them, but as those "friends" kept talking, and revealing their disbelief that someone like him, could ever be drawn towards Jao, he realized that he made a mistake. The only positive thing that came from that outing, was that their disbelief, made Jao realize that he finally needed to be honest to Sky and himself about his feelings for him.

I love how this crazy, little gem of a show, focuses on being true to yourself, having friends in your life, that will be your cheerleader, along with being the voice of reason (when necessary), and that you really do need to love yourself, in order to be able to love someone else. Sky and Nuea absolutely love, and adore who Toh, and Jao are as individuals, and the men, they are in love with. Daisy, has an abundance of self worth, but has never met anyone like Intouch, that sees, her for who she is, wants to be, and doesn't have any issues with being seen as her man. It's really refreshing to see this in a BL!! Very refreshing!!

Your post is wonderfully precise, and brings logic to what could have been an amazing storyline between an arranged marriage, so that both Kuea and Lian could be on the same level in their relationship. Right now, Lian holds all the cards, knows everything, and chooses to keep Kuea in the dark.

Agreed, and as you highlighted above, in another comment, Kuea really hasn't lied about his true self. He just hasn't felt comfortable enough, safe, or at ease in being able to reveal himself, to the folks that should be the closest ones to him, his family, and yes his fiance from their childhood, Lian. To me, it's quite sad that Kuea feels that way, and for his fiance (who is completely aware of Kuea's truth), but continues to put K
him through these mind games, makes it even more of a horrible situation, for Kuea to be in.
Them making love, still doesn't change anything, regarding Kuea still not feeling 100% secure in himself, or Lian's love for him. What happens, when Kuea eventually finds out that Lian knew about him, from the very beginning?

Well, since these issues, are nothing new, IMO I still don't think that folks, who do see red flags, or comment on the "trash" connotations, need to not bring up those concerns, with the BLs that they're watching.

Individuals can choose to ignore those comments, right?
