I didn’t really like ep 9. The biggest reveal to me was that Lian’s family was poor. For some reason I thought…
"And any number of standards hubby pulls out of his ass at any time to keep wifey feeling inadequate. Plus sex whenever he wants it. O.k. This series would work as a parody of the gender imbalances in Thailand except that it wants us to take it seriously."
Exactly. TPTB pulled a fast one on the audience, because is this sort of relationship really desired by anyone? In fantasy or in real life?
"The power imbalance has nothing to do with age."
Another great point. The imbalance in the relationships between Lian/Keau and Yi/Diao has to do with mistrust, deceit, lies, and manipulation. Many things that I still don't get why is soooo "difficult" to not do, towards someone that you profess to "love"!
I am enjoying this series, and I don't need to use the novel as a sort of "bible" to appreciate what has been kept or added in the TV adaption. I am on the ride, for the entire series!!
That was as bad as it could get with some pretty famous and good BL actors. No focus on story, no scene made sense,…
I keep thinking about how some folks really complain about how the majority of episodes from Korean BLs are always less than 20 minutes, and that they can't "ever" seem to be able to flesh out those scripts. Hmm...."Tinted With You", "Color Rush 2", "Behind Cut", "Oh, Boarding House" even "Kissable Lips" had better scripts than this series. Sigh.
But you can't be too good at pretending. Otherwise they will suspect you are gay for real and no more acting jobs…
"Otherwise they will suspect you are gay for real and no more acting jobs for you!!! 🖤"
That part is very important. Yes, we have Earth and Fluke from "Until We Meet Again" that are publicly out gay male BL stars, that have the full support of the production company, Studio Wabi Sabi, that has them hired under their list of performers. Yet, we have Bruce Sirikorn, Porsch Apiwat, Plustor Pronphiphat, and Newyear Kitiwhut, who are ALL out gay male BL actors in Thailand, but none of them are under ANY sort of production company's list of actors. All of them are independent.
A pig's head as a memento. Oh Toh!! I know that it's going to be EXTREMELY hard and difficult for Toh, to really be able to not collect things, but I still have faith, that eventually his need to collect will diminish in time. That being said, I LOVED that the last segment of episode 11 focused on Daisy, and her attempts to "conform" into being the masculine "Day", that she feels and thinks, she should be, in order to keep Touch interested in her. How Toh, Jao, and my sweetie Som cried over seeing Daisy twisting herself into being someone she was never meant to be, broke my heart, yet also made me applaud them, in their love, and support for their friend. The person they love, and adore.
This series, may be hard to accept for a lot of viewers, due to the over the top behaviors of the characters, but I think it's purposely been written that way for a reason. I think that the writers, directors, and certainly the producers want their viewers to understand, that in reality, most people rarely "fit" into the identities that are preferred in these BLs, and that's perfectly fine.
Yuki clocked that tension FAST. We love an observant king! And Ze Shou isnt as oblivious as he likes to pretend…
He certainly did, and it was too funny. Ze Shou is also very observant, whenever it comes to his "friend" Le Gong. He's also very touchy feely, and ramps up the affection, whenever Le Gong attempts to avoid him. Once Ze Shou actually realizes, and accepts his true feelings, Le Gong will not know how to react.
This series looks like fun, and the lead actor, Sota Ryosuke reminds me of both Mean and Plan, aka Tin and Can from the Thai BL series "Love By Chance".
GMMTV really loves using Leo and Leon's house from "Don't Say No", and I think it's the same actress that portrayed those two characters Mom in the series. Here she is again, being a supportive, and loving Mom to her child.
Agree to disagree on that one.My mind checked out on "It's not really problematic..."
But, I guess that it wasn't expected for viewers to pick up on those responses from Lian, and not see his behavior, and actions as troubling. We were just supposed to vibe off on how hot, cute, adorable, sexy, and "meant to be" between him and Kuea.

"I keep recalling that Lian actually told him he could do what he wanted so long as he behaved. He actually fucking said that. I heard him. And yet I still can't quite believe it."
It was a scene, in either the 2nd or 3rd episode. I literally raised up my hands, and shook my head in disbelief.
"Allow, naughty, behave!" This is his fiancé, he is interacting with, and not his parent?!
No post exhibiting hate for this show is anymore unnecessary than love posted for the show. Because ultimately…
You're welcome. I will always continue to wish that there was more to this series, because I know if I had been a fan of the novel, and this was the result, I would be pissed.

"....its weird that their "relationship" is based on fear and guilty."
Agreed, and for me, that the two more focused on pairings in this show, consist of having the status of their current relationships, be based on, lack of communication, mistrust, dishonesty, fear, and guilt, isn't something that can be dismissed, due to "other series being more toxic than this one in the past"! At this point, I'm glad that viewers, who are watching this series, are continuing to point out the things, that are bothersome for them. It's better to acknowledge it, rather than just being wowed by the cutesy scenes.

New fandom name. Now called "ZonZon"
