万 is the Chinese character for ten thousand. Anyone who has studied Chinese will know that. So, if they want to be precise, they should use Valley of Ten Thousand Flowers. But I see that it Twitter, lots of people just shorten it to Thousand Flowers Valley.

I am for precision, when it comes to translation. So technically speaking 万 花 谷 should be Ten Thousand Flowers Valley.

Regarding the official subs, it is an honest opinion. I really feel that it will be out soon. All the signs are there.

No official news, but Croton has released 3 previews on their YouTube channel over the past week or so, thus indicating that the official subs will be out soon.

I have watched all the previews. The subs are of good quality. If we think about it, why shouldn't it be of good quality? They have had this drama in their possession for months. And on their facebook page, they seemed to hint that the subs have been ready long ago. Something else is holding them back, and whatever that is, will soon be removed.

Part 2 will be done airing in China by next Monday, so our wait should not be long. End April??

Not fair for me to comment on the fansubs, as I do not use them. I prefer to wait for the official subs, which should be out really soon.

And my Mandarin is pretty good, so I can tell that the Croton Media subs are fairly accurate.

Nope. You cannot really say it adds zero value to the story. They are using what I call a double hook. On Ji Yunhe side, the hook is from Lin Hao Chin, to show that Ji Yunhe only loves Changyi. On Changyi side, the hook is from that fox princess, to show that whatever she does, Changyi will only love Ji Yunhe. Thus far, that is the role the fox princess is playing, a one-sided love for Changyi, just as Lin Hao Ching is having a one-sided love forJi Yunhe.

The series yet to end, so the director may have even more 'tasks' for the fox tribe and fox princess. Never know, but the fox princess may well sacrifice her life to fight against all the bad guys.

Yes, it seems they made some changes from the novel, but the overall plot should remain the same. If you know all the characters from the novel, it should not be too difficult to guess what is going on, even if you do not understand much of the dialogues.

Seems the subs will out pretty soon. Likely before end of April.

We just wait and see how they will deal with this matter. If they managed to sell this drama to many countries around the region and internationally, they would already make quite a bit of money, and may well release it free for all of to watch. But, maybe there will be advertisements. Those who want to watch free without the ads may have to pay.

But, honestly, we do not know what the arrangement is like. Best just to wait. I think most of us would prefer to binge watch this. This drama is just so good.

To be totally accurate, Wanhua Valley should be transalted as Valley of Ten Thousand Flowers or Ten Thousand Flowers Valley.

Croton is fairly accurate. Wanhua Valley is just taking it directly from Chinese, the sound of it. But the actual meaning Wanhua is Ten Thousand Flowers. So Flower Valley is quite accurate. It tells you that it is valley with lots of flowers, whereas Wanhua carries no meaning, unless you know Mandarin or Chinese.

I did not know that. But, it is not surprising. Nothing comes free. If need to pay, you might as well wait for the official sub. There is a chance that we might not even need to pay for it.

Here is what we suspect. Huace/Croton has the broadcasting rights for international markets. But they could still be negotiating with some countries on the price. We are expecting things to wrap up soon, and they will release this in Croton Media's YouTube channel.

This drama is doing extremely well in China, broadcast solely by Youku. So Huace could using that info to get better price.

I do not think they are intentionally snubbing international viewers.

Very happy for those who are fans of Hu Yi Xuan. She gets to be the FL in a new modern drama that just booted 19 days ago: Hai, Ni De Guo Chan

So the drama will be out by maybe first quarter of next year, which is another opportunity for her to shine. Good that she has at least one drama airing a year.

I respect you for being able to watch it raw. Even though I can understand the overall plot and storyline from the Mandarin they spoke and their actions, some of the conversations do not make sense to me. Still need English subs to fully appreciate TBW.

Reba will need to be careful with playing the role of a villain. Acting wise, she can do it. Not sure if it might impact her image and affect some of her endorsement deals.

Judging from the two previews they have released, the sub is pretty good. For past dramas, their subs also pretty good.

I think this scene is going to be extremely impactful, going to leave a deep impression on all viewers. All the time they spent on making those costumes will be well worth it.
