Xuba is so underrated!!! I wanted more scenes from them!! *crying
If my memory serves me well, the Xu Feng character was not even in the manhua. In the drama, they killed off A'Dou early and created Xu Feng to provide company for Qin Lau, and later a nice love interest for Shiba
Guys.. Go to The Blue whisper page.. Its already wrap-up.. We can see another Reba drama soon.. https://twitter.com/dilireba_/status/1401532277255929859?s=19
This is nice! And so nice to see her next to director Chu. This is their third collaboration
Next year, all of us will have a reunion in The Blue Whisper page in MDL!
*tears... remember when she was talking to shuyu about ASun? The many times he saved her and how he’s been there…
I do remember! The clearest one was in E43, when she told Shuyu off, when he was trying to persuade not to trust Asun. She felt that having gone through so much with so many people, she knew she could trust Asun and Mimi.
Walking out together on the red carpet will indeed spark a rumour. Unless, of course, it is the intended message…
They were! And they could care less about any rumour. They were there to do their job, promoting TLB. If they needed to hold hands while doing it, they will
Oh, I did not know this! Anyway, I don't really give too much attention to what he says. I don't quite believe anything he says. What he does is just come up with those numbers. He does not contribute anything meaningful. We can just totally ignore him.
Rewatching gives me different emotions. Not sure if anyone feels this way, but I feel like I'm from the future…
Sometimes, it may not give us different emotions, but it gives us greater understanding. Now that we know the ending and the plot and storyline, when we go back to re-watch previous episodes, we can better understand why the screenwriters asked of the characters to do this and that.
For instance, like why would AS treat CG so harshly why she first arrived at the Eagles's camp?
I do not think this is even mentioned in the manhua, but here in the drama, they made AS treat her badly, so that she will have the will to live. And having the will to live will give her the motivation and drive to survive in the harsh grasslands. AS knows that CG is a though kid. She will survive. But the grasslands is new to her. She just needed an older person (like AS) to guide her.
No one is asking you to come to terms with Khatun. You don't have to. She belongs to the other end of the spectrum…
What happened to her are the results of all the choices she made in her life. She cannot blame anyone. She had no choice, when she was 'shipped' over to the grasslands as a young princess. But from there, everything she did, no one forced her. She made the decision to kill of all her husbands one by one. To take Mimi's brother hostage, and all other schemes. She made them out of her own free will. And toward the very end, she had a chance to say sorry. Her son asked to stop what she was trying to do. Changge offered her a hand of forgiveness right at the last episode.
The sreenwriters wrote it this way, that she was indeed given lots of chances to turn around. But she never did.
I don't think we need to feel sorry for her. But even for such an evil character, she still cared for the one thing that meant most to her, apart from Sui: her son. Before Ding Xiang was taken, she made sure that Sheer would get out of there alive. You could say, her action saved Sheer. Cause when the Tang army invaded Ding Xiang, they could have killed him or at least took him as a prisoner. Now, Sheer got to live free in the grasslands.
I like the light humor added by the director to the series. For examples, shiba's drawing, the Covid-19 inspired…
Yes, a serious drama like this, the director was willing to take some risks and inject some light humour. Apart from those mentioned by the two of you, there is also that scene in E31, around 37min 40s. Earlier, AS claimed that he went there to play chess, but the crown prince said lots of exotic dancers perform there. CG turned to face AS and he had to shake his head as if saying, No no, I did not come here to watch those.
Yup. And I was not even biased against Duolu Continent. Waited for that anxiously, after watching Xiao Zhan in The Untamed. But the story line just could not grip me.
And I watched all the episodes in Sword and Brocade. But found they used lots of usual stuff to just prolong the series. The Long Ballad was just so refreshing, plot wise. And acting and everything was great.
If I were to wager a bet, it will be those animation scenes. If they were replaced by live action or even live action with CGI combination, I think viewership will be much higher. I think the decision to use animation was made by both the producer and the director. They said they did it as a tribute to the manhua author Xia Da. It could also be due to time issue, they were given the broadcast slot by Tencent and they had to stick to it, hence no time to do the CGI. Some of those battle scenes were quite complex. Would have taken some time, even if they did use CGI.
Anyhow, nothing can be done now. Just hope that their national TV channel will air this and help viewership in China to go higher.
khatun's plans for mimi only works bc the story needs it to work lol...like she just sends her along as a slave…
I think it is all just part of storytelling. Like you said, it works because the story wants it work this way.
If we ponder all these little coincidences, we may also ponder, how come Changge got shot so many times by those arrows, and got stabbed once, got cut several times by knife wounds, they were always at non-vital parts of her body? Mimi got shot once, and she was shot at her heart and died. Statistically, not likely. But that is way the story goes.
I suspect, all these other historical dramas, especially those with 55 episodes or more, we may find even more of such unlikely events.
By and large, most of the stuff that happened in TLB were still believeable. Not likely perhaps, but possible.
Even if TLB did hit 3b, and I am sure it did, but the ranking may not change much. If TLB moved up between end April to first week of May, some of the dramas in top six could have increased in viewership too.
Now we just hope that the China Central Television channel will pick it up. That will surely bump up the viewership for TLB.
i drop it on ep 8. tell me why i should continue this show. the pace was too slow for my taste
If your 'pace' refers to speed at which the story moves, this drama is alright. The storyline is quite complex. If the director moves the sequence too quickly, many viewers could be lost, or it may not make sense.
Up to ep 8, we have yet to move to the main plot
It is like taking a long Chinese dinner. So far, you are just taking the appetisers. Keep going. The main courses will be coming soon.
If you keep watching, and you start to understaind the storyline, some of the earlier episodes will start to make sense. You will not find it boring at all.
By now, all the episodes are out, You can watch quickly till episodes 14 or 15. By then, if nothing clicks. very likely this drama is not for you. Maybe you just do not like this kind of storyline.
For many of us here, this is a gem. So, you see people keep going back to do re-watch after re-watch.
This drama is fine wine. Not a bottle of coke. You cannot rush. You need to enjoy every sip, because every sip tells a small story that is connected to the bigger plot.
