I must say that so far, the attention seemed to be focused on the supporting cast, and they are doing a very very good job. Reba and Allen are not doing anything bad. Not at all. They are the main stars. If they are not good actors, they would not have been chosen for their lead roles.
I have not read the story, so I give you my take purely from watching the drama. So now, many of the supporting character are indeed shining, which is great for the drama itself. All great dramas have great supporting actors and actresses. Even the great Hollywood movie, Titanic, the supporting cast members did a great job, and not just Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet. Billy Zane did a great job; as did Katy Bates. and Gloria Stuart. Cannot totally rely on the two leads to carry the show.
Whatever Reba and Allen have been tasked to do thus far, they are doing a really great job right now. But, they are not yet at the centre of attention. They (the screen writer and director) are giving some of the supporting cast good screen time. They are good actors. They deserve it. And they do form a critical part of the entire story.
Reba and Allen's time to shine big time will come. I am sure of that. This is the way the screenwriter and director want to tell the story.
There are 22 episodes in Part 1. So, they are just building up the story, so that it will peak at the right time. That is when Reba and Allen's acting power will come in. I am sure of it.
People who criticise any of the leads for poor acting, we can either just leave them alone, or push back in a very rational way. So far, I have chosen to leave them alone. But, I can see that some of you are getting nervous. You are afraid that these people who are attacking this drama or the acting will do great harm to this drama.
So, ok, from now, the next person who drops with some unjustifiable negative comments, I will attempt to push back, rationally but politely. I have already watched all 6 episodes, in raw. Let's see how it goes. Just hope it will not turn me into a pit bull.
I have just finished watching E5 & E6 in raw. In the spoiler below, I will not be spoiling the plot details for…
1. In E5&E6, the CGI is really good. We now know why they spent so much time in the post production.
2. The drama is moving in the right direction. By E5 E6, the plot gets serious. That is all I wil say, so you will still get to enjoy it, without knowing any of the details.
I have just finished watching E5 & E6 in raw. In the spoiler below, I will not be spoiling the plot details for you. I will just give you my frank opinion about the CGI and the general direction of this drama (without any details). If you do not wish to know, please do not open and read.
It's likely those anti Raba fans.Anything Raba act, they will drop by to make nasty comments or give a low rating.…
That, is a very good question. What did Dilraba do? Or, what is it about her to warrant the dislike? In all probability, she likely got the role of Ji Yunhe before Allen landed the role of Changyi. Dilraba knows this director so well (this is their third collaboration) and they have so much mutual respect.
I share your curiosity, why this person dislikes Dilraba.
In the novel their relationship is brother and sister. The drama adaptation turn into one side crush
Oh that too! But this was a different poison, so needed a different antidote. But before haoqing brought the antidote, chanyi had already used one of his fish scales to heal her.

Her ethnicity certainly has a role to play in the kind of treatment she is getting. Especially after she got really popular. She became a clear threat to ethnic Han Chinese actresses.
But, we have no need to worry. In China and overseas, numerically, people who like her overwhelm people who don't.
It does. She might have used some kind of hair growth herbs. Or, perhaps, whoever who did those side text should have said, six months later, instead of 1 month later. Good thing, her fast hair growth is not central to the plot. Or else, we may get lots of nasty comments.
Maybe the haters is coming to drop the rating .....
Have no worries. We have seen it happening in other MDL pages of Dilraba's dramas. Once, it even happened right before my eyes. A minute after refreshing my PC, the rating dropped by 0.4. But, slowly, over time, it climbed from 8.1 to 8.2... Eventually, settling at 8.8.
Actually, the main reason why I don't read is that once I read, most of the stuff in the drama, I would already know. It spoils some of the fun for me. Also fear that I get too attached to the novel and start to blame the screenwriter and director, for changing stuff.
But, it is always fun. Novel readers and non-novel readers always approach a drama differently. Just very interesting to exchange notes.
Even for novel-readers, not all of them interpret the novel the same way. So, even they may view the drama differently.
Yes, watching raw, on the unofficial channels. But, will surely re-watch, when the subs are out. I also did that for TLB, because the subs on the official channel lagged one or two days. I could not wait, because it was so exciting.
Same here. With raw, I could figure out about 60-70%, which is more than good enough to help understand what is going on. I seldom try to understand every single sentence, even with subs. Some dialogues are not critical to the plot.
This novel doesn't really have a lot of different sects like in some xianxia dramas
How is your Mandarin and Chinese? If your Mandarin and Chinese are good, you can watch. You will understand the dialogue. And the unofficial channels also has Chinese subtitles. But, if Chinese is your 2nd language (like for me) processing time will still be slow. Mentally, you will feel being rushed, because we will take more time to process everything.
But, this is a Reba drama. I am going to watch it multiple times, so I do not mind being 'rushed' right now. I will re-watch again, when the subs are out.
