FL flying solo for a while is the only acceptable ending here. she needs to take some time for introspection on both relationships and deal with her emotions. also idc about either MLs :/
all the characters outside of 2 MLs were very superficially written. esp main FL. only given so much screentime to sell straight romance to audience. this would've worked better if producers stuck to original storyline instead of this hot mess. so much wasted potential here :/
a group of lonely people forming a bond and having a sense of companionship or kinship towards each other is def very heartwarming. this was a good read. props for a lovely article and penguins of Madagascar. haha
majority of viewers being frustated with Ga On is completely understandable. this is problem in writing and execution. Ga On has changed his position way too much in this series for audience to take anything he says seriously. his character should be a lot more practical and resolute in his actions. his outlook seems very unpragmatic. idk how he made it as a judge in this fictional dystopian world. Another thing is that there are valid criticisms to Yo Han's way and it is certainly not going to help in the long term. but what else can be done or what measures to be taken to escape this miserable reality? there has been no dialogue or discussion about that. so far, Ga On and Min Jung Ho has pointed out flaws in Yo Han's methodology instead of doing smth on their own to stand up against foundation or govt.
here's my 2 cents on ep 14 ending- 1). calling a public vote on death penalty is a very bad idea. whether that guy deserves to die or not is a completely different conversation. this will erode the very existence of morality and skew the social mindset. flagellations or absurdly long life sentences and electric chair aren't the same thing. a world where people decide who gets to live live or die by the push of button is damn cold and it'll only get worse from there. 2). President and Yo Han are pretty similar in how they're manipulating public and trying to gain power by selling fear. his fight is with Sun Ah and old guys and the one losing in that is entire public.
Soo Hyun did infact turn out to be nothing more than a plot device in Ga On's arc. the actress playing the role really needs to start picking some roles where she's more than half a character :/
so damn slow. 6 side characters appearing for grand total of 10 mins per ep + no insight into ML and nothing but indecisiveness/procrastinating by FL. all this could be done in half the time. hell, do a 2 hr movie. since this is being stretched out so much, all the flaws are magnified. it looks like even both leads have given up on this series. such bad acting in ep 9 :/
Song kang’s acting during the climax fight scene was terrible, he ruined 9 episodes worth of build up with his…
since the beginning its been so mid. and its for both of them. the girl is somewhat getting away with it coz of voiceovers. so much blank staring holy shit. in ep 9, the guy fell completely flat in rain scene. couldn't express anything. just said his lines mechanically :/
its a thriller short series. yes!!! hope more korean producers start valuing quality over quantity. no more stretched out plot with bs added in b/w to pad run time of 12-16 hrs :/

there was a good article on MDL editorials about it as well- https://kisskh.at/article/underground-nightmares-and-social-anxieties-aum-shinrikyo-on-film
