Yeah, he's being type cast but I must say he fits the role. I was reluctant to start but it's ok so far. We can just watch it casually together with some other dramas. It's not bad.

I was skimming through because like you said we've seen this story many times before. I enjoyed the main couple's scenes so I went back to watch it properly. They fit their roles and have good chemistry so far. It's so funny how her dad tried so hard to set her up on a date.
I think this drama portrays a different kind of love, it's much more quiet and deeper than the steamy romance…
The truth is they filmed so many hot scenes but I guess they can't show it the way we want. Everything got heavily edited in episode 14. The staff posted all those teasers so we can use our imaginations...hehe. I was anticipating seeing more but was surprised to see everything got cut too.
Finally had time to finish it. Honestly I ended up being more interested in the second couple than the leads.
Yeah, I'm surprised they focused so much on the 2nd couple at the end. They totally overshadowed the main couple. The 2nd couple's scenes always got the beauty treatment too. Their scenes are beautifully filmed. I enjoyed watching both couples but I agree that the main couple lost a bit of the glow at the end.
Ma Hao Dong played the role "Qin Mo". On the surface of indifference and ruthlessness, hidden behind the mask is someone who's heart is delicate. He has 2 contrasting sides. Officially, he made people respect and fear but in love, he'll show his warmth and tenderness.
So expect to see lots of food, love and power in this drama.
The mood for episode 21 is surprisingly light and cheerful. It's a welcome change after some darker episodes.
ML & 2nd ML's conversation is always so funny. ML: Now you want to be my brother in law, right? They have good chemistry too. I always laugh whenever the 2 guys show up together.
There's a good conversation between FL & 2nd ML too. The most memorable line is: FL: I know what it feels like to really like someone, when you can't help but want to kiss him.

ML finally told FL the real story behind what's written in the diary. This takes place in no man's land in Southeast Asia, presumably the area north of Thailand and Eastern Myanmar. Watching these scenes makes me so sad because I know this is real. This happened to many unfortunate people even now.
Anyway, ML met A Nong there. They constantly got beaten up by the guy in charge. They became close and comforted each other. One time she cried too much and that guy put her in that box to shut her up. ML couldn't get to her so he played the harmonica to soothe her. It's really touching.
When the guy in charge found her drawing on the wall, he splashed black paint on her and made her stand there, arms spreaded like a tree branch. ML came and told her to go but she didn't dare leaving. ML splashed paints on himself and became a house to shield her tree. You'll notice the contrast before and after he came. Before he came, she's like a wilted tree. After he came, the tree got revived and is standing tall.
Despite the dark storyline, this scene was impressively filmed. The sun brightens everything and you can feel true happiness when they're together. All the paint colors hide away everything that's dark and ugly. They've been through the darkest days together and formed a special bond.
This is the reason I love this drama. Feelings were expressed through lights & colors creatively. I'm constantly impressed with this production team. They deserved bigger success. Hopefully more people will watch when all the episodes are released.
All these scenes are so touching and totally wiped out all the uncomfortable feelings we get at the beginning of the drama.

Episode 18 is a bit sad. The misunderstanding just reached peak level. Once again, it reminds us what we hear and what we see might not be the truth after all. I had to watch until the last second of the episode to see that kiss while listening to the ending song to calm down :)

I agree. I became so impatient with recent batch of dramas, leaving many unfinished. I like to watch short dramas now because it doesn't have much fillers and we can usually finish it within 2 weeks. The quality for short dramas have improved 10 folds within the last year due to heavy investments after realizing the potential of this untapped market. It's good news for us.
This drama has many good elements but the cinematography is the one that made me glued to the screen. :) I'm constantly re watching scenes sometimes just to look at the lighting, the framing or just the scenery alone.
While waiting for a new episode, I watched a drama called Rival Love. The FL is in that drama and I realized she looks so much more beautiful in this drama than in that one. She's always beautiful but the styling made her much more beautiful and elegant here. I realized that being beautiful and act well is one thing but having a good production can elevate actors to a new level. I guess it came down to luck for all these young actors. They're lucky to be in this drama. After this, they can level up on their career.
