I disagree...sge may not be tge most likable character but they now deserve everything that comes their way. Consequences…
Yeah, consequences are a bitch. Methinks that BHR will not be a happy camper at the end of this, whether we have a Season 3 or not. Seo Ban and his brother are the only characters rich enough to satisfy her money-grubbing heart. Highly doubt that she will end up with either of them. (I think she's disgusting for going after Seo Ban because he's the older brother when she's sexually attracted to the younger one).
There are lots of younger women on this board who love her for being vicious and greedy. Sad.
Sorry folks are so delusional. Hye Ryung doxing her husband is just what his whole family gets. The entire time…
You have a very fixed idea of masculinity - as if it's PSH's responsibility to fix BHR's narcissism. As if clear communication would have saved this marriage.
I think Seo Ban sees right through her. What's more, her co-workers are starting to as well. People reap what…
The sneaking around all happened in Season 1. In Season 2, SW and PSH acted honorably. The SW and PSH haters would crucify people for their entire lives for one sin. Sorry, I don't believe in wearing a hairshirt. I believe in making amends, rectifying mistakes, making life better for as many people as I can, and moving on.
I think Seo Ban sees right through her. What's more, her co-workers are starting to as well. People reap what…
Thanks, Xia. Pepop and I are old friends by now because we know what the other will say :) I think BHR is pond scum and Song Won is my favorite character. Pepop would say I have it ass backwards.
Long story short, what BHR did can be considered nothing. Any other woman in her place would have bashed that…
Victim? What exactly did she lose? She got the apartment she wanted and the chance to marry up. She's spiteful and petty. PSH and his parents did well to get rid of this viper/parasite.
We need one more season, so Boo Hye Ryung can get what she has coming to her. That character is a complete narcissist.
I think Seo Ban sees right through her. What's more, her co-workers are starting to as well. People reap what they sow (not "sew") indeed. BHR is duplicitous as well as narcissistic. She might have her gorgeous apartment with the view of the Han River, but she seems destined for a lonely life.
The first time I saw Yoo In Na was in You Who Came from the Stars; I didn't like her character, because who could possibly compare to Jun Ji Hyun? But I find Yoo in Na utterly charming in her own way, from Quen In Hyun's Man to this drama. I now get why she has such a big and loyal fanbase.
BHR didn’t know about her fertility issues until they tried for a baby and she found out she couldn’t get…
This was the couple (SW and PSH) that struggled the most about their relationship. They both tried to do the honorable thing after their mistake. I hope you have more grace for human frailty in real life.
Also, let's not minimize emotional abuse by calling it a difference of "personality". Mental well-being is just as important as physical safety.
I don't disagree with your basic point about honesty and communication in a committed relationship. But people should stay together because they want to, not because they have to.
Girls the mother-son relationship is so toxic! How can she ask him to choose between her and his ambitions???!…
Yongsik and his mother have the same kind of relationship that Dong Baek is creating with Pil-gu (or Gyu-tae and his mother, for that matter). By making their sons their "god", their reason for living, they make it hard for another woman to come along later and claim their heart.
Watching ep 18 now, and getting angry that this worship of motherhood precludes Dong Baek from having both kinds of love. Maybe this will be resolved in the next two episodes, but I hate that Kdramas always put mothers in that bind.
My heart was captivated by Kang Haneul in this drama. He plays the role perfectly as the goofy and honest Yong…
I love how his mother put it - Yong Shik is a pure heart because she took the bullets for him, cleansed off the stains of the world. (And I could fully understand why she wasn't thrilled about having Dong Baek as her daughter in law).
Yes. Do you know the movie Monster with Charlize Theron? About Aileen Wuornos, the sex worker who killed her clients? I was in a class that examined childhood trauma, how many serial killers experienced multiple traumas growing up. Aileen Wuornos did, and so did Ashin. From a trauma lens, everything Ashin does makes sense. I'm mystified by the people on this board who think that she's crazy or illogical. In the world constructed by the writer, the alternative to avenging her family's fate would be to remain a slave (in all senses), and somehow shut up and bear it. The way she chose, she gets to have agency.
Glad I found this board. I found this on Amazon Prime and loved every chapter and the overall arc. Having lived in Seoul and only visited Tokyo, learning about the neighborhood demographics was a bonus.
