it's still Moon chae won best acting in drama for me. She is also great in The Princess Man... but this is her…
I’ve seen her in Flower of Evil and Goodbye Mr Black. She is so cold in this role - hard to reconcile with those other roles. Hope her character becomes more humanized soon!
So I finished it because Lee Jin Wook is too attractive. It was longer than it should have been and the final plot twist was unnecessary. Too many helpless females. What I liked was LJW’s tenderness and expressions of love. Also appreciated the redemption of two characters. Lots of love portrayed in this drama - almost everyone ended up with a partner
Wanted to find something that to counteract my melancholy over Misty. I love a good revenge drama as much as anyone else, so thought I would try this because I loved Moon Chae won in Flower of Evil and Lee Jin Wook in Miss Granny.
Someone below said it best - Lee’s acting looks really forced, so unlike the open-minded curious PD he plays in Miss Granny. I can’t stand the macho, boys will be boys rough and tumble interactions. Always grabbing, punching, talking in stilted military tones. I hope it gets better
I just finished watching Misty and we have not seen the same drama! I liked it because of all the reasons that…
I'm so glad there is someone who loved this drama after watching this in 2021. I'm still haunted by the characters and the bitter ending. From a trauma lens, GHR and HMW made sense to me. How refreshing that GHR would choose her job over her mother's final hours, and that she would admit to disdaining her mother for turning herself inside out to please sh*tty men. GHR may have been traumatized by the knowledge that HMW sacrificed his future and college savings so that she could go to college, but how empowering to know that someone believed that much in her. One could argue that she HAD to protect her job and HMW's investment in her. Three men believed in her and went out of their way to protect her - HMW, KTW and Director Jang - but it could be said that they were protecting their own ideals about themselves. Having saved the confession note, I wonder if Director Jang would have used it after KTW killed himself to free HMW.
Ugh, this bogged down for me. After the initial laugh riot, I couldn't get past how stupid the main characters were. Especially the FL. She started out strong but became an idiot midway. The facial expressions were the same dumb, bewildered, red-eyed, teary mong-chon-han look for every scene. After being deceived so many times, she lost my sympathy and interest. I was more fascinated by the second lead couple - their actions made sense.
Again, I can buy the time travel and reincarnation premise, but not the FL's continued stupidity. As one Viki commenter put it, she's slow and weak.
First heard about this while watching Arang and the Magistrate. Hungry for more historical dramas and Song Joong-ki, started Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Rooftop Prince kept coming up in the Viki comments and now I'm hooked. The premise is hilarious. Can't wait for the romance to kick in!
As with everyone else here, I am sad that the crazy train has ended its ride. And I'm also mourning Han Seo, the kid that never had a chance. I binged on Chief Kim while waiting for Eps 17-18, and will start on Fiery Priest next because I love this writer's loopy, zany humor.
Can someone help me out with the math, though? I thought the gold bars were worth about $10M (minus a few for the piano teacher and the core Plaza gang). If the peace offering to the other Mafia family was $10M, how did Vincenzo have enough to buy the island and move his Italian family there?
And, wasn't Director Seo (Agent Ahn's boss) corrupt as well? When did he become trustworthy enough to be given the Guillotine file? I do plan to rewatch this, but I'm dying to know now!
I am a relative newbie to K dramas, so I can’t speak with Mariposatraicionera’s authority. And as someone who is studying to become a therapist, I cringed at some of the depictions of mental illness, (though I loved the hospital and its director).
But this drama cracked open the possibilities of this form! The fairy tales, the stylized houses and fashions, the acting, the focus on trauma! I haven’t even mentioned the actors - all of whom surprised me with their versatility and range. The thriller plot was the weakest link, but who cares when the themes were so powerful?
Thank you! I agree about MLFTS. It is a classic that I will rewatch again and again. I tried to watch Dream High for early KSH and could not get past Suzy’s acting. A bust for me.

Vincenzo’s witticisms - Booralro, the zombie acting class for Train to Ulsan, Outstagram, among many others
