Oh yes, I have so many questions! I wouldn’t disdain a prequel, a sequel, or a spinoff. Put Zyz in and i'm in! XD

I know people say that he chooses his scripts, but I think all decisions come with some restrictions. Not everything he picks is because he wants to, sometimes, it’s just what he has to do or the lesser evil. In this case, to think he chose to do a drama with all the work he needs to do for the concert seems a little exaggerated, even for his standards.
And here we’re talking about half a drama, on youku platform, with a favored fl, possible VIP restrictions, and a new studio, with the only positive side of an interesting character (not to mention the risk he’s taking as the first bill in such a big production).
In my opinion, his agency wants him to work on a drama, and since this is the only one that seems available to fit around the concert schedule, this is it. They really can’t just leave him to work on a normal rhythm.

Thinking about it, demon souls can cultivate, while human souls cannot, so they must be different. A spell that works on a human soul wouldn’t work on a demon soul, so I’d rule out the spell Zyz used when sacrificing himself for PJ's brother.

If YL were an inanimate object, or if his real form were separate from his demonic form, like LL with his pagoda tree, even with just a small amount of life left (since even LL was in bad condition) it might have been enough to use only a part of his original body to save him. (Zyz didn’t use a spell, it was just a piece of LL’s original form.)

But since YL is half-god, he probably only exists in the form he uses. In this case, only Zyc could have saved him, but he hadn’t mastered the technique yet, so he must feel guilty about it. Even so, the technique only worked on Zyz, who was bound by his blood, and on Ying Long, who was bound by his bones. So without a separate piece of YL’s body, even Zyc’s technique wouldn’t have worked.
Lot of "ifs" and "maybes" lol, but basically, without a separate piece of the body, no technique or spell could have worked. And no one thought to take such precautionary measures😢

Maybe before YL’s death, Zyc didn’t even consider using BY technique. Only after losing him he thought to use it to save Zyz and not lose him too. 💔

Right, I forgot about that technique, but that was a human soul bound to an object. He probably had no way to come back to life, just to survive and remain like that. And selfless Zyz spent so much of his energy to help him 💔 They slowly weakened Zyz to save everyone, right and left.😭

But maybe a demon soul is different. The old fox demon was bound to a doll, but he didn’t revive or cultivate himself. In that case, though, maybe it was just his lingering feelings and not a part of his actual soul. Who knows? You learn the rules of this drama as it goes on, lol. There’s definitely a lot of material to think through.

As for the end he said he would always be with her, and that drop of blood in the contract was all that remained of him. 😭
He stayed there with her, as promised... then she left him and he fly to Zyc asking for help 🤣

I really don’t know why Zyz wasn’t there to fight LL in their final battle.😅
It was their fight from the beginning, so it doesn’t make any sense at all (maybe the producer can explain).🙄

Anyway, it’s really sad that Zyz wasn’t even there to give his farewell to YL. I think Zyc still hadn’t mastered the technique, and even with Zyz power, I don’t think there was much he could have done for him. Resurrecting someone isn’t an easy feat, and they only learned that technique through the past dream, which involved millennial demons from the beginning of the world, lol.

I’m also really sad for little BJ and sweet YL.
The small fragment of this little sweet white ape is my little ray of hope in this ending.

I agree that all the tragic moments were amazing, but even the humor and sweet moments were just as impactful. I couldn’t have made it through this drama with such ease if it wasn’t for those funny moments sprinkled throughout, so needed!

And from the little info I understand that the baize goddess is mortal but with eternal youth, so she should be able to live until Zyz cultivates himself back. Or, they could even use the sundial and have Zyz cultivate there for decades, like they did with that baize tree. Either way, they’ll meet again. If worse comes to worst, Zyc is a demon now, so he can wait for Zyz as long as needed. So even in the worst case scenario, Zyz wouldn’t be alone.

But I’m all in for the sundial cultivation theory, and having them all back together! 😭🧡🧡

I absolutely love how Neo portrays Zyz, especially in certain scenes like the one you mentioned where he regains consciousness after the massacre and washes the blood away, or even when he loses control after his master sacrifices for him. The expression he makes in those moments are just 😭😭Oscarworthy!!!

About the mountain god, we know demons are isolationist, even if they care for others and the oldest, wisest among them take care of the realm, but after seeing what happened with the original goddess and the demon, they simply let the next goddess decide what to do. It wasn’t their responsibility to decide on the baize token.
If the token had gone entirely to a human, it means the balance would now be maintained by a human.

Then, there is a second goddess before Waner. If you check the credits, there’s an actress listed for that role. I seem to recall some references to her, even if I don’t remember watching her (it's half a year since I last watched the drama, I'm working on memory here).
And if Zyz had any relationship with a previous goddess, there would be no reason for him to keep secrets about that. Even LL would have probably talked about them, but he only mentioned Waner. This means Zyz only meet Waner.

Zyz also says that he is a child in comparison to Cheng Huang. They even mention his real age to prove that Zyz is not fooling around and it is true. So it make sense that with that much age of difference Zyz doesnt know the original legend but the one everyone knows.

since the only reason they went on their mission was to find out what happened to the token, where it is, and why, it is because Zyz didn’t know anything about it. That’s why they go to the Mountain God to understand what happened. If he had known about the legend from the start, half the story wouldn’t have played out the way it did.
And Zyz is also surprised when he learns about the connection with the godness.

So, the only explanation is that Zyz and Waner came together naturally, or at most, Waner might have known about the original goddess and demon. But even if that’s the case, the token no longer needed to be split, so there was no reason for her to become close to Zyz, as the token guaranteed her power even when alone. So if she did come close to him, it was likely due to their affinity.

That the Baize goddess and the strongest demon in the wild are supposed to balance each other, doesn’t seem to be common knowledge, not even for Zyz. Only his master knew about this, along with the original demon/goddess relationship involving the half baize token each.

So their meeting probably wasn’t something they chose. It might have been more a matter of fate, or a natural draw to each other, since they are the strongest/most important representatives of their respective realms and share the same principles.

It is their interest and understanding of each other’s races that made them bridges between the two worlds, which naturally and effortlessly led them toward each other, and drew them closer.

1. Agree about the color change. Many theories and little info, so that makes sense.
His demon form has dark hair with tattoos on his face.
His human form had white hair, innocent look before LL left him/red moon tragedy, after that, he take on the appearance we know, dark hair with three strands of white.

2. Her just sitting beside him, and them clicking, felt like such a natural and fitting way for them to meet.
I would’ve loved to see their meeting too, or just more of them in general. It’s a pity Zyz’s past was only shown in the bare minimum needed for the story.

3. I wondered the same. We know that Zyz’s master helped him control his energy. This means that as the vessel, he was always at risk of losing control, and that constant threat must have been hard to deal with his whole life.
As kind as he is, the fear of losing control and hurting innocents must have always been something that caused him deep sadness and constant worry.
He probably always lived on the edge of depression, and LL leaving him, hit very hard. When he lost control, it was the breaking point.

I don’t think it was after witnessing the cruelty of humans. Zyz has always known that humans are complicated, and neither humans nor demons are entirely good or bad. He have a better understanding of the grey areas of life than most.

🔸 Also, regarding his depression with Waner, we must consider that it’s not necessarily true that LL leaving him and the tragedy struck both 8 years ago.
We know the doctor wanted the ebwf, and if he’s around 40-50 years old, it’s possible that what occurred in the prison happened 20-30 years before the current events. This means LL might have left Zyz 10-20 years before the red moon. Therefore, Zyz could have already been depressed (due to LL leaving) when he was with Waner and in Wx memory.

4. He was born as the vessel, but from what we know, Zyz has never lost control during the other blood moon nights. But the malicious energy intensifies during those times, so he has to remain focused, in control, and careful.
8 years ago, the ebwf made him more vulnerable to the malicious energy that becomes stronger during the blood moon. Added to this was the emotional and mental strain of what had just happened with LL, leaving him completely vulnerable. This caused him to lose control, and the malicious energy overwhelmed him, leading to the tragedy.

5. As ShortCircuit says, LL doesn’t like humans. He thinks demons are superior to them. Humans are just too weak in comparison. He probably would’ve hurt that child in trying to make him stop, if it weren’t for Zyz’s kind, innocent gesture.

It's such a pity. For once, he could have had a normal working schedule, but now they’re pushing him to his limits for someone else to benefit while he takes the risks.

If Youku has projects on the verge of copyright expiration, that is Youku’s busines not HMH’s business. Youku has their own artists to use, if they don’t have anyone capable of handling a big project and didn’t think about it earlier, that’s their problem. Why should HMH have to pay the price for them?
The sad thing is that there’s no way to make them pay for how they are treating him without also hurting him.

ZYZ and WY are my absolute favorite characters in all of world cinematography! If he has a similar attachment to XWY, he will be interesting. 🧡

So not only are they making him the guinea pig for a new drama release format with seasons, but they're also doing it on the brink of the copyright expiring, which will only complicate things for a potential sequel, even if the series achieves the success they’re hoping for.🤦‍♀️Like adding insult to injury.

To make matters worse, whichever fl is chosen, she will be the favored of a platform that has never treated him fairly. This almost guarantees she’ll get more prominence, regardless of the bill position, the original story or the script they gave him (which, conveniently, always gets altered against him AFTER he accept it). 😩

What else to say? Let’s hope the drama crew and fl team won’t use those sly tactics to undermine him in order to elevate her? As we've already seen far too many times with his previous work (and I’ve only been a fan of his for a year😅)
