I only now realised looking at the comments below, that this is the notorious TT series I saw mentioned in so many mdl threads! Lol I feel like I've just hit semantic satiation on the word 'toxic'. You guys need to paraphrase more;P
Omg what a cryfest! Starting from that 4-men-simultaneous-crying sequence (who comes up with this stuff lol?) at the end of ep10, this basically went full-on soap opera style:D Not to say I didn't enjoy it or find it thoroughly entertaining:) This was a perfect series to binge with a friend on a long-ass ride. The story is pretty well structured and engaging. The quality is decent. The characters and conflicts believable within the convention. Techno is a pretty lovable comedic sidekick. Then, the couple dynamic is so delightfully out of whack, you just can't help but feel they're perfect for each other ...in the sense that they deserve each other very much;)) Btw is this how dorms look in Thailand? Cause damn maybe I chose the wrong country to study abroad:D
who came to drop the ratings of our drama??'please don't do that again
...or we'll send Long ge with a ppt to explain to you why this drama deserves a high rating;D I've long given up trying to understand how MDL ratings work - that way madness lies!
Is this based in a fictional country sort of bcz they speak Chinese but the letters we are seeing in documents…
I was wondering the same thing. All the maps are blurred. I think it's supposed to be a fictional city set somewhere in the larger golden triangle (so that includes China's Yunnan province;)) Cause the city/landscape shots seem to be from all over SE Asia. But then the writing a bit too obviously points to Thailand. So I don't know. As for why - yeah, censorship plus some people get easily butthurt when police is portrayed, so probably wanted to avoid that too.
yall apparently the cover picture means they are using the umbrella to block hua city poison or harmful drugs
That's what I was thinking too. Like what other white powdery stuff can be falling in SE Asia. But then why Long ge is holding an umbrella?! He should be rolling in the stuff.
Haha! Don't forget the kid. Put this under spoiler? Let people enjoy the crumbs gathering;)
True it's a lot but maybe that's just how romances work in Hua city:D I actually really liked the way it unfolded in little bits and pieces from catching that box in the water in ep1 to finally getting the details in that goodbye in ep9. Saw your other reply. I don't cry easily but if those two end in heartbreak I probably will.
And they have so much chemistry + the romance is balanced with the themeIt is not one of those series where the…
Agree, it fits well. Their scenes are short but pack a punch. Honestly, they're so restrained with each other it's just painful to watch. I'm pretty jaded but had to pause the video for a sec after that farewell scene in ep9 to collect myself slightly:)
Good to know the series is as light as the trailer portrays, was about to be another series i carelessly dive…
I wouldn't go so far as to call it light... By ep10 the body count is probably well into its twenties... Everyone keeps lying and playing mind games with each other. It's just that the tragedy is well balanced with humour - though a lot of it has a dark feel too. Cause one Liang Long is a murderous lunatic:)
I was planning to ignore the romance here, cause I'm not in the mood. But these two... They seem to weigh every word between each other, while you can see there's so much stuff boiling inside left unsaid. Somehow less has more impact? jiade jiu hao/fake is good… >.<
Lol not a boring minute with him. I thought he was gonna be a cliché at first, but his mind is just something else... The way he tricked Xiang into signing those papers... He could even make a boring torture-for-info scene into a fun bungee jumping experience;D
yall the episode 6 bullet scene made me proud because usually, it is always the reversaltrying not to spoil
You mean when she tumbled him to the ground? Lol, I didn't look at it that way. I guess I focused on Liao shooting that guy dead from a moving car… But yeah it's cool they made her a full-on player - she's got both skills and smarts, though I don't envy her that Luo xiang/Chen Mo headache;)
Well, I've run out of episodes… I'm kind of surprised, cause it didn't feel like 8 eps. Compared to Gold Panning, which actually physically tired me out, this was an effortless watch. Gotta give it to the director for making it flow so well. The tension is well balanced with humour, the characters engaging, the mystery still alive and kicking, plus visually it looks great. Then Long ge is like a delightful cherry on top in a bathrobe;) I'm waiting for Liao's arc, cause he's stirring the pot a lot - just not sure which direction...
