So many haters. For better or for worse, this was where it all started for me. This drama completely won me over. Since it was my first, I knew nothing about the kdrama cliches or tropes. I watched it purely innocently and it completely enthralled me. I fell completely in love with JanDi and her can do spirit. She stole my heart and I don't know if she ever gave it back. This little sweet, modest means gal completely dismantled the aristocrat-like, chaebol rich elite and completely changed everything. I could go on and on dissecting why it is so charming, but some get it some don't. Being my first, it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I could not find a place to watch this. It wasn't on YouTube with eng subs. Gooddrama had it listed, but I couldn't get it to work. So I went to eBay and imported it from Malaysia!! I have a deep affinity for Jang Na Ra and saw the trailer on YouTube - I had to own it. It was a 10 for me because of Jang Na Ra. She was adorable and as I expected stole my heart.
I don't think I have ever cried over anything like I did with 1 litre of tears. especially during the episode…
That's a bummer. I would accept that. Out of the many I've watched, I've only bought 3. Only one was of true quality, like a real company made it, the other 2 were DVD-Rs. They had copied cases that looked reasonably legit. I am glad I have something. Same with a Korean movie I had to import from Malaysia. That was ecstatic to get because I couldn't find a place online that had it to stream. I may have look into my own way of copying and burning.
Thank you though.
One more thing, everyone is different. I heard Stairway to Heaven was a tearjerker and I barely was moved to tears…
It was good. There were like three episodes around 11-14 or something that was infuriating!! It was constant, I want to be with you, but I can't, but I want to, but I can't!!! I was SO close to breaking something!! Literally. It was crazy! But after that it was better. It was sad at the end, but it just never quite got me. Still I don't discourage you. I think I have it an 8 or 8.5. It was good, it just never made me cry like I was kinda expecting:)
One more thing, everyone is different. I heard Stairway to Heaven was a tearjerker and I barely was moved to tears once, and believe me my waterworks happen pretty easily. My heart is so soft. But, alas, it didn't do much. I was really surprised. I think frustrated was more accurate for me with Stairway to Heaven.

Me too. See my above comment. I completely agree. It crushes your heart. It nearly makes it feel like someone is standing on your chest. I just got to own it somehow.
It's an INCREDIBLY POWERFUL story. It resonates long after the series is over. I remember crying so hard and talking to the screen saying, 'I'm so so sorry my sweet baby.' I was desperate for her. The impending, inescapable end she faced..ugh. My eyes are welling up thinking about it. I got a friend to watch and she was beyond beside herself. It's simply a must see.
I can't get enough of the dramas that make your cry profusely. 1 Litre of a Tears had a PROFOUND effect on me. I am desperate to own it on DVD. No luck finding it. I'm glad I read this. I tried Sorry I love You and couldn't get into it. I hated the vibe. But you say stay with it to at least the 3rd episode so I will give it another shot. I put Marriage Contract in my 'plan to watch'. I can't get enough of dramas that make sob uncontrollably. If it manages that, it's gold. It doesn't always have to be a tradgedy. Reply 1988 had me bawling for a number of reasons. Playful Kiss...YES Playful Kiss had me in tears constantly out of joy and warmth - see my review if you want to know why. I watched a marathon of tear jerker movies one day! Lol. Just kept seeking the next one out. Thanks for this. Sorry I Love You has been on so many people's list of top tearjerkers. I HAVE to stay with it this time!!
wow. just wow..urgg. I want to read that book if it's real. this is the 2nd drama that I didn't binge watching.…
I'm glad you really liked it. I loved it very much too. I especially loved your last statement, 'Thank you Korea for this drama.' That was wonderful. I have felt that way so strongly too. We get some of these wonderful dramas and it's like I want to say thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Reply 1988 has me wanting to write the TV studio with a letter of thank you. Maybe one day I will.
The lamb crying throughout this was freaking annoying. To me, it's worse than a laugh track. I don't…
It has been a part of all the Replys. It's like a signature now. I don't think it's to prompt you to laugh per se. I think is charming and would be missed now if it were gone. Just my humble opinion.
