I saw the first 2 episodes last Sunday. And today, episode 3.
I can get that it took a while to have this aired. Imo, the preparations must have taken a long time. Up and Poom seem to be in peak physical condition. And that dream sequence and especially the Ju Jitsu scene (jeez, that was hot!š„µ) must have taken considerable time to rehearse and film. Not too mention Pooms dancing.
As someone who does not cry often anymore when there is a emotional scene. I cried when Wayu was brushing Singto's teeth. And also at the end, when they both had ran away from home to get out of the claws of that dreadful woman to seek shelter.
When Krit came by wirh that green jelly or whatever that was, I saw them sitting in that playground of the daycare. And imagined them both together raising Singto as loving fathers. That imagination is coming already true next week!
Is it coincidence? But Up is playing a wealthy world wise educated man again. Just as he is irl. Like Poom is playing the struggling young man trying to make a living, also much like his real life.
What I find funny is that there can be a argument all over again about Pooms character "virgin status", just like at the time of My stand-in. Wayu says he hasn't done it before, just like Joe at that time.
What is interesting considering Wayu's approach when he was with Krit in the sauna in a earlier episode and now working as a host where his liver takes hit after hit when alcohol surely is making people having less boundaries and horny.
That Krit is so rich, his father is a top police officer, that he even can pay for such a expensive day care center. That would not be possible in the country I live in.
Mind. He was the one in episode 1 who bumped in to Wayu when Wayu was back at university to withdraw from his studies. We will see Mind for sure again. Because he is infatuated. That he did not drag Wayu back to his table after Wayu met producer Nut after the latter visited the toilet, because he had bought 100 drinks to be with Wayu for the boyfriend vibe. š
Anyways. I'm glad to have them back on screen. They sure have chemistry and undeniable charm. But their acting skills are also š

First of all, the drama didn't show that nari likes geonwoo first, so we can conclude that Seah and Geonwoo like each other first. Then nari just confessed he likes the boy, and they're all shocked. There's already a thought that they're hesitated not to tell Nari yet (but soon), and after that day all the plot starts moving the story only had almost a week to save their life. And because of what happened to Geonwoo, they became showy, and Ha-joon noticed that as well. So they just admitted it. (Seah to Hajoon, and GW to Nari).
About the stabbing. GW literally can see Siwon possessing Nari. What he did to Nari's body is not good though, but they're in survival mode. And that time, Nari also lose her sanity & soul to Siwon, which is why she can't control herself.
She felt left out, yes it's frustrating, but also she's acting stubborn. Hajoon and Seah go to his sister (shaman place) to save Seah. They don't know that time that Nari also used the app (so they're thinking to not add nari in dangerous situation, I believe). Bringing Nari in that Shaman place will just looks like an extra baggage, or texting Nari that "we're on shaman place right now" will just bring more extra situation (especially when siwon is also following her).
It's a fast paced story that just happened in like 5 days in the story with 8 episodes. They don't have time to have a heart-to-heart talk because their time is ticking. To help Nari's feelings overcome the situation, she probably need weeks or even months to actually understand it, but in the plot timeline, it's not an ideal scenario. It's just a missed opportunity that they don't show more about how deep their friendship are.
Iām gonna need Chen Ke to NOT go abroad and Iām gonna need him to also not be stabbed, because what the hell??? I really am loving this show but I need that finale right now because what do you mean he got stabbed??? And usually I donāt actually want finales when Iām enjoying a show but I need this one with a quickness. Because my god today. lol
Zen is fighting him so hard and I hate to see it, just give in! I'm ready to see him get really jealous in the next episode.
I love the tension they have going on but they're so cute together... The high school crush and the couch snuggling š„ŗ I can't usually get behind this kind of cuteness because most series that are sweet also have no spice and I need that too. I'm truly happy when I get both, so I'm enjoying this series a lot so far
Chinese BLs always outdo themselves in that low budget. Everything about this drama is so good. I never expected to get so emotionally attached to the characters and their story. Waiting for each new episode felt like torture, and each episode felt way too short to calm down my excitement. Every week I would say that this is my favorite episode, only for the next one to come and prove me wrong. For me, thatās what makes a series successful, regardless of genre. The fact that it keeps getting better with every episode.
Chusan and Liuyi are honestly one of the most interesting dynamics Iāve seen in a while. At the beginning, it feels almost uncomfortable. Liuyi literally drags Chusan into his world, and thereās this constant tension of power and control. But what surprised me is how quickly that dynamic flips. Chusan isnāt weak at all. Heās calculating, observant, and in many ways, he ends up holding more emotional power than Liuyi. And Liuyi⦠I didnāt expect to feel so much for him. He starts off as this brutal enforcer, almost cold, but then episode 2 hits and everything changes. The moment with his sisterās death just breaks something inside him, and from there you start seeing all the cracks.
Thatās when the story really hooked me. It stopped being just crime and started being about grief, loneliness, and the desperate need to hold on to someone. The development of Chusan and Liuyiās relationship may feel slow to some people. I am one of those who think it might have even been a bit fast, considering the circumstances they were dealing with.
What really got me was how quiet their feelings are. Itās not about big confessions or dramatic words. Itās in the way they look at each other, the way they stay, even when everything around them is falling apart. Especially after Liuyiās loss⦠you can feel how broken he is, and how much he doesnāt know what to do with that pain. And somehow, Chusan becomes the only place where that pain softens.
I know their story doesnāt end here. Being someone with no patience, I read the novel while the series was still ongoing, and I loved it even more than the show. This might be the first time in my life where I wasnāt bothered at all by the adaptation despite the differences from the novel. I think it stands very well on its own. Or rather, it would, if it were complete and didnāt end the way it didā¦
The ending felt more than a full setup for continuation than just a cliffhanger. I donāt know if weāll get a season 2, but I honestly think itās necessary. It would be such a huge shame to leave such an interesting story like this. I donāt really have anything negative to say about the series apart from that. Itās definitely not "perfect" in every aspect, but I never rate based on that standard anyway.
Iām going to miss these boys soooo much. I really hope everything goes well for them and that we get to see them in many more series in the future, together or separately, it doesnāt matter to me, as long as they are doing well and achieving their goals, because they truly deserve it.
It really hit me deeply as well. I feel like I have been on the opposite end where I truly loved a girl and tried to win her trust and show her love and affection and in the end she pushed me away and shut down again. Seeing this series made me realize that the other person does have to be willing to confront their own insecurities and be willing to change their heart in order for it to work out. I kept trying even when the other person wasnt at the point to be ready, and it was absolutely heartbreaking. I sometimes wish that I could go back and try again with all the wisdom and experience I have now.
The finale did not disappoint, our love birds finally on the same page. The passionate reunion kiss was perfect that lasted like forever. The chemistry between He Chu San and Xia Liu Yi was undeniable. The mystery between our detective Xue Jia Hua and Lu Guang Ming is finally revealed sooner than expected. Letās hope season 2 happens sooner than later. Want to know how our love birds will fair after the confession. We all want fatty to pay the price for hurting He Chu San. Iām ready for season 2 nowš„°š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°šš„°š„°
Iām late to the game and have just finished Stay with Me (a remake of Addicted Heroine from 2016). Iām devastated by the ending, like many of you I can imagine. Have there been any updates on the future of this series? Itās been 3 years, so Iām not holding out any high hopes.
This drama is spectacular. Week after week, it just keeps on getting better. With its themes of regret and youthful…
I wish they had shown us that high school "break up" between Hao Wei and Xiang Yong before the drunk kiss happened because I think it would have been more emotionally impactful that way. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing how things get resolved between those two
This drama is spectacular. Week after week, it just keeps on getting better. With its themes of regret and youthful insecurity, and its take on the inability to let go of your first love... Lawd! It is simultaneously heartbreaking and breathtaking.
And the visuals? WTF?!? I could watch this with the sound off, and still be in awe of it. And I love how they feed us crumbs (like the sea turtle illustration) and leave them hanging in the air, only to return an episode or two later, address it, and then move on. So in love, so in love, so in love... that is all I have to say about this slab of beauty.
I'm completely in love with He Chusan and Xia Liuyi!! The quality of the series in terms of acting, cast, story, and soundtrack is perfect. It's truly one of my favorites, and I hope to see the main actors together in new projects.
We all know he doesnāt believe it and heās going to eventually call him out soon, but I kind of wish we got that in this episode because this episode felt very ⦠should I say filler?
That being said, I still really enjoy it. I think itās a fun series. I like that. Theyāre kind of doing all the tropes that are really cute like fastening someoneās seatbelt a cute meet cute etc
Next week looks good and Iām excited for the drama that is going to come Plus we finally got an introduction to the second CP now
There is nothing here that I wouldn't describe as anything less than gorgeous - Peak and Pearl, the scenery, the art direction, the costuming, the photography, the horticulture... Tawan! What this is doing to my brain...? š¤Æ
And when Gaysorn loses control of his pheromones? ššš
I really like that Keji is stone cold in love with Fukami. In the anime, you got more of a sense of ownership than anything else in the first half, but not this time. They've managed to make both characters so multi-dimensional. It is sooo much better than the source material. Well done. ššš
These episodes are too short! I like how Sakutaro and Shizuka are so open and honest and gentle with each other.
This episode, Shizuka's brother comes back and just says "Hey, my family and I are moving in, so you'll need to find some where else to live." and Shizuka's fine with it. Probably due to the revelation that Minoru thought Shizuka was the favored son, and Shizuka realizing that Minoru was the successful golden boy, just to get their father's attention.
I hope the brothers are able to build a better relationship.
And maybe Sakutaro and Shizuka will eventually move in together.
Overall I really enjoyed it. In a small amt of time the actors did a great job of making me care about their ultimate welfare and suspend my disbelief of a cursed app. My small critique would be that the villains were straight-up psycopath but it's true emotions are more amplified at that age. I also didn't find the ending perfect but I assume they're hoping for enough popularity ammo to greenlight S2.
One of the biggest pros of this show, though, was the scoring. Despite some of the over-the-top things that take place on screen, they managed to keep it both seamless and expressive, really setting up a unique universe that feels both retro and contemporary and (imo) wholly unique. Love when horror projects are scored well and the music director for this show knew their assignment.
