Rewatching this on Netflix and wow (Esther Yu voice) watching it on the big screen just magnifies the experience watching it.
After rewatch I must say wow Dylan’s acting is so good. I think I love Dongfang Qincong so much because he’s the perfect embodiment of my favorite trope “cold male lead” but done sooooo well. Many actors & their acting are often criticized when they take this type of role & I usually agree. However, Dylan does it exquisitely. His expressions and the nuance in his expressions are so good. So many times when watching dramas I feel like the actors expressions and emotions are not up to par with the scene/ their characters. However, Wang He di did this perfectly especially when acting out reactions & his responses to what is being said to him. And his micoexpressions are *chefs kiss* which is oh so important when acting this sort of character.
After re-watching episode 9 again its so apparent why after this episode I knew this would be my favorite show ever. My favorite part is not even the scene where he comes and saves her (à la black butterfly) . But the scene where he destroys the foundation of Shuiyuntian and says my favorite line “do you want to save her or your Shuiyuntian". DFQC was able to deduce in a few seconds with a smirk, what is truly important to Changheng and use that against him. UGHHH i love this type of evil intelligence and he does it so smugly and like a boss. I’ve never seen a male lead portrayed this good before. And Wang He di really does this so well like this sort of bravado is second nature to him.
Also as an aside. I wish mydramlist had two threads one with new watchers and another one with people that have already watched the show. I think it would cut down on the infighting lol. Can’t wait until my favorite Esther scene’s!
You know what I just realized. Changheng never tells XLH about how he met her previously and erased her memory. I know in the scheme of things its rather unimportant and wouldn't effect her choice which is probably why it was omitted. But i feel like in a more traditional xianxia he would've definitely told her and that would've made her waver towards him. It also shows how little attention was given to the love triangle lol (which I'm happy about btw). Like the whole I knew you and loved you first trope is not even used. Impatiently waiting until this Friday when its on Netflix so i can rewatch!
Ep 48 of this drama really amazed me like wow. The cinematography was movie quality. The way they showed the splattered blood when the fighting commenced. The epic background music. The almost manic laughter coming from Ling Buyi, mixed with tears, the blood on his face. And I'm sorry but my favorite part is perhaps the most brutal, when he told the world his name accompanied by the slices to the neck. I actually cried lol because I really felt for him in that moment. This is my first drama with Wu Lei and it certainly will not be my last. Wow I'm excited to see him in more roles in the future because he can act! **Cue me running to watch all his dramas lol**
maybe he doesn't have a girlfriend anymore, I am ready to ship him and Esther any day! they seem like they would…
Yes when they didn't give a denial I was like hmmm its probably true. His girlfriend must feel very secure in their relationship because he does have a very flirty/playful personality lol. But yes totally we should respect.
maybe he doesn't have a girlfriend anymore, I am ready to ship him and Esther any day! they seem like they would…
Totally possible although when the news came out he didn't say it was false unlike, the whole thing with netizens thinking his new manager was his girlfriend which his management clarified. But who knows! & I think so too, they're so cute/chaotic together!
They're so cute. I know that he has a girlfriend allegedly (she must be super secure/confident lol) but I love their friendship/whatever they have going on. The fact that he's checking her clothes for her lol & they're comfortable to do that. She's so adorable saying "Wang Hedi".
Yes. Read it. It's a relatively easy read. The only issue is there are a lot of characters to keep track of. I…
Yes, definitely looking for more of that and Ling Buyi. I loved his character in the drama & I heard that he's even darker in the novel which sounds like my cup of tea lol
I definitely recommend the book. It's very good even with google translation. But do watch the drama first.
I think i'm going to read it! I'm almost finished with the drama and feel like i'm going to have withdrawals lol. Would you happen to have the link to the google translation?
Siming said that XLH is attached to DFCQ primordial spirit and he used his primordial spirit to create the dream, so does that mean a part of the real XLH was actually in the dream. Maybe she also didn't want to stop dreaming with him even if they both die.
