So this is really good! Maybe because I’m used to fantasy shows but it was very easy for me to follow. I agree…
Also, the second episode was so good. Like that’s how you raise the stakes. Can’t wait to see what happens next episode.

So this is really good! Maybe because I’m used to fantasy shows but it was very easy for me to follow. I agree the music was a little jarring at times but by the 2nd episode I’d gotten used to it. Also, the CGI is extremely good! I’m confused as to what are you guys standards for CGI? There was only one scene where it was subpar imo. Also, the hairstyle were a little weird at first but again I got used to it. I love the story and the characters especially Mu deok. Haven’t finished a Hong sisters drama since Masters Sun and haven’t completed an ongoing Korean drama for forever so I’m loooking forward to this!!! Can’t wait until next weekend

I loved the shared venting from the ones that got left behind lol. I hope some friendships arise. I’m glad Yunseul…
I’m all for reality shows & dating shows but I really hope people remember everyone is human & seeing your partner with someone else “even if you signed up for it “ *rolls eyes* is not easy. Jealousy, betrayal, envy make sense! & it takes some people time to get immersed in a program like this. I’m sure the “left behind” partners will start developing connections soon. As we’ve already seen. Empathy will take you far *woo sah*

I loved the shared venting from the ones that got left behind lol. I hope some friendships arise. I’m glad Yunseul is opening up lol. She was giving ice princess first episode. She seems way more comfortable with the group and Taewan I wonder how their second date will go. I really like Jiyu she seems really sweet. I think it’s normal for her to be questioning why her partner likes a random girl he just met so much.

I’m sorry but hearing people mention that they’re thinking about marriage and then being on this show is a bit odd for me. Like do you really think you’ll find a suitable partner on a show like this lol. Seem’s disingenuous to me.

Hyeyeon & Taewan

I completely understand Hyeyeon in wanting a more mature man that is at the same place as her financially and emotionally. I do think if the bond between her and Taewan was stronger she could wait for him to establish himself. I don’t fault her at all for not waiting though, we only get one life and time should only be spent on the people you sincerely trust and are confident in them as a partner/future husband.

Hyogi & Yunseul

I’m still trying to understand what was going on with Hyogi. He seemed a bit jealous which is fine call a spade a spade. Honestly, the comment “wow you made my girlfriend laugh a lot” gave it away. But then he said he was upset because she was doing things that she told him he can’t do. But when she clarified the situation to him multiple times he doesn’t listen to her and then brings up past issues. And the argument then gets worse. Interesting lol…. I wish he’d been honest with his feelings like following her and Taewan was unnecessary he could’ve waited until she finished smoking if he was upset about things not being “fair” like he claimed.

Next episodes seems like a lot of drama lol! I’m ready for the mess.

Oh and I’m really not up for demonizing people. Especially in relationships. I shudder to think what would happen…
I think it’s self promo lol. Spoiler alert: all the original couples in season 1 ended up staying together lol. So yeah I’m not taking this too seriously. And the couple that seemed to have the worst problems are getting married. These couples do seem more like they’ll break up though.

Thoughts on this episode 3:
The Kum Kum’s are so cute! (Heart beat cells)

This episode showed a little bit into how Woong and Babi are different. Woong sent the cute frog and that’s how he infiltrated the cell village. Whereas, Babi catupults rock boulders to knock the walls down of the cell village.

I love how Babi holds Yumi’s hand before he goes into the kiss makes it so sweet and intimate. I was squealing

I’am deceased not Babi cells wooing Yumi’s love cell. But wow the difference between his cell village and Woongs. Babi’s cells held a celebration they seem so nice and cute

I dont know how to say this but I will just say it... why are people pining yunseul to be the villain when hyogi…
I agree. People tend to judge women more harshly especially if the guy is good looking which is the case here. Therefore, people see him as “the poor victim” and Yunseul as the evil woman who is stopping him for happiness or in the way of their ship. It’s the way of the world and particularly exacerbated on this site. Things like, editing, the pressure from being on camera, & seeing your boyfriend pursue other women can all effect how someone comes off, so I never judge people too harshly on reality shows. I wonder where everyone that frequents here is from so many viewpoints are so extreme and not balanced.

Review episode 1 & 2:
Does Korea have couples counseling lol? All the couples need some.

Hyogi & Yun-Seul

Wow 30 times breaking up I didn’t think that was possible. Their relationship is definitely toxic. We saw a glimpse of why in episode 2. Their communication is horrible. It also seems like Hyogi has some resentment built up for Yunseul because he kept saying things that were obviously going to hurt her & he just seems to genuinely not like her lol. I wonder what’s holding these two together? Him and Hui Hyeon is meh to me lol. I don’t think any lasting relationships can happen from this show. Him and Yunseul definitely need to break up and date other people/ & mature communication wise!

Hui hyeon & Jeonghun

I really understood Hui hyeon and where she’s coming from! As a women that’s getting older financial stability is so important especially in choosing a spouse. Also, if Jeonghun was really serious about keeping her he would’ve presented her a plan for when he got out of the military to assuage her fears. She needs reassurance and he hasn’t t given her that. I don’t really understand why she’s on this show though lol. Like I would just break up.

Taewan & Hyeyeon

They just aren’t suited for each other. In regards to the affection/ love language thing I think it’s best to find someone that you are compatible with or the same. I don’t think anyone is right or wrong. Taewan seems clingy which Hyeyeon is not. He should find someone that’s like him. (Me and my partner are both super clingy so we never have this problem lol) Also, I agree Taewan is immature, like on the date with Yunseul saying he cares about “body” like omg. Definitely something a young guy would say. She should find someone that is more mature & compatible emotionally (not be on this show).

Dohyung & Jiyu

The fact that they never addressed or talked about their past breakup is affecting their current relationship. They need to work on their communication not go on this show lol. In all seriousness though I think she definitely traumatized Dohyung so the fact that she never apologized or gave him a sufficient reason is crazy to me. Honestly, I don’t know if these two should be together, their past is a lot. They need counseling!! And Dohyung and Hyeyeon is again meh to me.

Title Moneyboys Spoiler
This was okay but it could’ve been great. I really dislike when film makers tend to go the artsy ambiguous route and neglect the story.

I really wished we got more answers a lot of things were left ambiguous and I was confused. First the relationship between Liang Fei and Xiao Lai. I wish we’d gotten more insight into their relationship. I feel like we got the attraction part but not the love? I wished they’d explored Xiao Lai’s personality a little bit more. The top money boy falling for someone & risking everything for him? Thats what happened but we were never shown motivation or reasoning behind why he would do that. Was the love mutual?

Also, it was so jarring when Xiao Lai was injured by that man & they skipped to 5 years later. We never saw how Liang Fei processed his disappearance. Did he look for him? It seemed like he didn’t care at all. Their relationship in the movie just seemed shallow which is probably why everyone gravitated towards Long’s character.

Therefore, at the end when Liang Fei chooses to support and stay with Xiao Lai & family instead of Long, it seemed out of place. It makes sense in a way for his character because he’s constantly sacrificing himself for people. Sacrificing for his family that understandable the film did a good job displaying the guilt and complicated feelings he had for his family.

But I don’t understand his motivation for staying with Xiao Lai. It just seemed random. Is he doing this out of love, duty, guilt? I feel like if the filmmakers had shown us more into their relationship and how he feels but we know nothing.

And at the end it seems to suggest that he regrets leaving Long. Also, the wife bit was so confusing lol. I really wanted some insight in their relationship. So is Xiao Lai bisexual? & the wife is aware and presumably okay with it. But some of her behavior came across very strange towards Liang Fei. Like she was a little jealous.

I’m kind of sad this was gearing up to be a favorite of mine. Developing characters and their motivations is so important. We the audience need to be able to understand or even surmise through deft storytelling why a character makes the decisions they do. I didn’t mind the open ending though.

Other than those things this show made me cry a couple times. And made me so mad. It also made me contemplate my school life. The bullies getting justice was cathartic if not morally right! The acting was superb especially the kids cast!

Title The King of Pigs Spoiler
Just finished this and it was simply amazing! The acting from both the adult and kid actors were mesmerizing!
However, I do have some criticisms especially the last 3 episodes. Some things I think could’ve been executed a lot better.

The first is “Cheoli’s suicide reversal”. Throughout the previous episodes Cheoli had been characterized as a pretty dark morally gray character. I thought it was interesting how long he waited to intervene and help Jong suk and Kyung min. Why didn’t he intervene earlier? It seemed a little premeditated & not wholly altruistic.

Also, his teachings to Jong suk and Kyung min were disturbing. Both boys were severely traumatized and it seems like he preyed on their darker natures 1) with his teachings “they need to become monsters to survive” 2) Getting them to actually kill something I.e. the cat. Which was so disturbing!

After watching his behaviors I suspected he may have sociopathic tendencies. However, after his fathers death the show then changes the tone of his character. Which, in my opinion was rather abrupt and felt a little unauthentic. I was as shocked as Jong Suk when he said he wanted to live and that he didn’t want to leave his mother alone whilst smiling. Also, the bit about let’s be police officers felt so weird. Lastly, him not understanding why Jong Suk was upset and responding “I’m just a middle schooler”. I wanted to laugh lol. Is this the same kid that manipulated/ black mailed his teacher into letting him comeback from suspension? Kim Cheol seemed to have a very good understanding of people and their intentions & behaviors. Case in point him knowing Park Chan young was bad news!

Now I’m not saying it’s not normal for a middle school student to reconsider dying but it just felt very uncharacteristic for the character that they’d showed us until then.

If the show had showed us bit by bit Kim Cheol becoming more “human” wanting to live a normal life and finding strength through friendship. Then his later shift in tone would’ve been understandable and it would’ve hit me more when Jong Suk ultimately pushed him.

With that being said I did enjoy the show but I wished they’d stuck to the characterization of Kim Cheol in the earlier episodes or made his reversal more believable.

Secondly I wish they’d showed that Jong Suk ultimately felt guilt over his actions. His obstinate refusal to accept what he’d did was wrong was another strange choice by the show in my opinion. I wished we’d seen him come to terms with his actions and why he did them. Him explaining the betrayal he felt towards Kim Cheol etc. but I feel like we didn’t get that! However, it can be said that in the end he chose to atone by “going to Kim Cheol” by letting go and falling off with kyung min.

I finally watched this! I was put off for a while because of reviews but I actually really enjoyed this. Maybe because I found it really realistic. A “good guy” can be standing right in front of you but when you love someone it’s hard to choose the “better” option. I’ve been there so many times. Do I think Jae-on has changed idk lol. His main problems was communication in my opinion he sucked at communicating so bad & being vulnerable. But from the last scene Na-bi seems to trust him she didn’t even ask him about the girls & we never got to hear what his answer would’ve been so who knows. The acting was fine in my opinion as well. Some people have really strong opinions on this series and that has transferred over to their feelings on the actors unfortunately. But I enjoyed it, nevertheless!

Yes I agree! I was so sad too & people started doubting his acting ability. I think it’s the romance genre theres usually a preference for those type of male leads. I want him to venture out into more genres! And yes everyone’s killing it!

Wow that worship me sealed the deal for me I really like this! So different. As of right now I’m really drawn…
The siblings don’t feel like caricatures they feel like real people. A real family. So I didn’t know Seoul is surrounded by countryside. Is there any American city that’s similar to that? The city where I’m from has a huge metropolis so just other cities surrounding the main city. & it really says something when all the siblings have a job but can’t afford to move out or get a car. Especially, both siblings that are almost forty that’s so crazy but I know it’s the reality for so many people all over the world.

Wow that worship me sealed the deal for me I really like this! So different. As of right now I’m really drawn to all of the siblings.

Gi Jeong is not a likeable character but a very realistic one in the sense that I’ve come across so many people similar to her. She’s negative and see’s the worst in people first before the positive. There’s so many people like that in the world I can’t wait for the character growth.

I really feel bad for Chang Hee. There is usually a criteria for men in society for them to be deemed as worthy partners. Such as having a car & your own place. Chang Hee has none of that so his girlfriend found someone that fit the criteria better. Him having to haltingly ask his dad if he could buy a car was really sad to me also. The dad seems like a typical countryside man in all his actions and that can be such a stifling environment for children.
