I kind of like his stupidity. I mean, what sense does it make for him to drop out of high school to be an Idol…
I see him as young and reckless. It's good to chase after one's dreams, but that does not mean one should dismiss all other possibilities. Maybe he will look up to TT as she helped reach a compromise with his father. And we will have some funny interactions between them to watch 😄

I am glad to see Liu Zi Hong has finally been introduced to us. I have a feeling he will be a fun character. And the eye candy is a bonus!

Great analysis! The whole plot around MM could have been written in a more careful way. As it is, things are going…
RTZ's constant attention to MM is probably the main reason why she feels safe only with him. And that toy is like a safety blanket when he is not with her. But how long can RTZ sustain such a life where his energy is mostly devoted to MM's needs?

RTZ is apparently doing research for a PhD thesis (when not playing truant to practice extreme sports), working in the family clinic and attending TCM classes. Will he put his life on hold for MM? At the very least he has created unrealistic expections in her mind.

Your last point on how RTZ might be seeing himself (or his younger self) in MM, since both did not receive the parental attention they needed, is very intriguing. RTZ also feels trapped or bound by his father's expectations. It could further explain his fixation on MM. And RTZ did say something to MM's parents about children not being puppets who should act according to their family's will. And he seemed quite emotional at the time. I look forward to getting some answers in the next episodes.

Trying to look more neutrally at RTZ, I think his character has the greatest potential for growth. Perhaps even more than TT. I am very curious what is the purpose behind all the buildup of his relationship with MM.

Thoughts about MM...... There hasn't been a lot of dramas where there's been a character I find as confusing as…
Great analysis! The whole plot around MM could have been written in a more careful way. As it is, things are going from bad to worse. I have not thought about it before, but do we know if MM is legally an adult? Because if she is underage, I really cannot understand what the Ren parents were thinking.

At first, my impression was that RTZ could be infatuated with MM or at least enjoying the role of knight in shining armour. Now I lean towards him seeing her like a child in need of constant care, although there are plenty of borderline romantic scenes which create ambiguity around their relationship.

As for MM, it is clear after running back to the Ren household that she is exclusively attached to RTZ. She rejects or is afraid of TT, which may also be due to the fact that RTZ's mother had already declared TT to be the only girl in the family. It puzzles me why MM responded to RTZ from the beginning. She was not drawn to either of the Ren parents (mother, father figure) or to a female friend closer to her age like TT.

I have great compassion for MM's situation, but at the same time the manner in which this plot has been written either lacks common sense or makes me very uncomfortable. I still hope someone will see the light and put a stop to it.

and strangely he didn't even say a word when tou tou took the blame on his behalf. if he's responsible, he should…
In my opinion, RTZ did feel guilty for what TT endured in his stead. I rewatched and paid attention to some details.
Compared to the first time (drinking incident), RTZ stood together with her squatting (saying ''I'm with you''), probably carried TT inside after she fainted, looked worried in the background as his parents were checking TT's state and took over the treatment (the smoke) without being asked to do so.

More importantly, RTZ was determined to get a clear answer from TT and asked her 3 times why she took the blame for him. He never bothered to ask or even cared before. Their back and forth - conversation and acting - is very well done. RTZ was definitely moved by her words. TT will become an important influence in his life, I'm just not sure in what capacity.

Now why does his guilt manifest differently in MM's case? I think RTZ sees MM like a child to be cared for, whereas he regards TT like an equal, someone strong and fearless - the exact opposite of MM. He shows TT his true self, often the worst sides of him, which is already quite revealing.

I think RTZ is threatening his mother with moving out with MM because it’s all part of his power struggle with…
Well said. I also think RTZ is convinced his mother will give in sooner rather than later. And she probably will for the very reasons you mentioned. How could she protect his personal and professional reputation, once he lives alone with MM? Until now, one could argue MM was staying in the family home, under the elders' supervision, sharing a room with another girl etc. After RTZ and MM move out, if something goes wrong, RTZ has sole responsibility and he may be confronted with strong accusations - the type of accusations that can ruin a person's career and/or life.

RTZ is used to being spoiled by his mother and grandparents who all cover for him. He needs a life lesson where he faces alone the consequences of his actions.

Things I thought were cute (Episode 15) - mostly related to RTZ and TT - How worried TT was for RTZ as he glided…
I am so glad to find you here! It's been too long since LLTG. Whenever I feel that my opinion of RTZ cannot become worse, he says or does something to prove me wrong... My heart-felt wish is for him and MM (together or separately) to have as little screen time as possible. All the other characters and their stories are much more interesting. Unfortunately, I doubt my wish will be granted.

Honestly, I hope RTZ moves out with MM asap for one crucial reason. TT has started feeling obligated to cover up his mistakes and, if that is not possible, then take the blame in his place.

I know that saving and sacrificing for others runs in her blood. But in this case it's more than that. She does not believe in her own worth and also tries to protect her master from being hurt by his son's choices and actions. She needs time, love and support to heal and realise her own self-worth. And that will not happen if she has to clean up after RTZ.

And for whom is TT taking the blame? Someone who has repeatedly sold gifts given with love by his grandmother. You don't like wearing that pendant or feel embarassed to do so - ok, then hide it somewhere. Don't sell those gifts to fund your andrenalin rush. Get instead one or several part-time jobs and do whatever you want with the money earned through your work.

I find it ironic how RTZ enjoys the money and lifestyle provided by his family, yet resents the responsibilities that come with it. He is one very lucky guy though - his grandfather, mother and now TT cover for him.

I also felt RTZ's change of attitude was very abrupt from ep. 10 to 11 and even more in 12. I doubt there will…
Yes, that moment was noteworthy. And even before that, when TT left the school, RTZ remembered how she encouraged him after the misdiagnosis with MM.

He is not a bad guy overall, though often arrogant and insensitive. I just feel that the worst sides of him come out when he interacts with TT, or at least that was the case until ep. 11.

In my opinion Meng Meng plot should have not been introduced, in case of meng meng she needs psychological trained…
I think the Meng Meng plot could have been handled in a more careful manner. Perhaps show it is possible to combine therapy with Chinese medicine for the benefit of the patient. I don't understand why the writers chose such a problematic approach.

Overall, I am enjoying the drama, yet this MM plot is by far the weakest link. My concern is that it has been given a lot of attention, which suggests buildup to a pivotal event in the lives of all involved. And that type of event, depending on how it is portrayed, can sour for me the enjoyment of a drama.

I think it depends on what point of view you want to see "late bloomer" and "prodigy". Or, how shall I explain…
I appreciate your explanation about how RTZ and STT can be considered both late bloomers and eventual prodigies. The fortune-telling scene was fun to watch, but I also feel it was meant to foreshadow future developments. We'll see if or how this hunch comes true.

Mengmeng seemed like she was kind of more aware during that “third-wheel” scene . Not saying she doesn’t…
Meng Meng is definitely getting better - it seemed to me that she even exclaimed words when RTZ won that toy for her. Unfortunately, as the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

MM is bound to develop an emotional attachment to RTZ, if that has not already happened. Outsiders also see her as RTZ's girlfriend, although he insists MM is a patient - e.g. the medical retreat. Perhaps even MM's parents will try to force things so that RTZ and the Ren family take responsibility for her. So many things can go wrong with this type of setup, where the boundaries between professional and personal are blurred to the point that they are nonexistent.

How do you guys interpret the divination stall scene? Is RTZ the late bloomer and STT the prodigy? Maybe he is a late bloomer especially when it comes to communication, unbiased treatment of others and relationships in general.

I feel like I've missed sth in regards with RTZ's ans STT's relationship 😅Like, in ep 10 he was a total trash,…
I also felt RTZ's change of attitude was very abrupt from ep. 10 to 11 and even more in 12. I doubt there will be any verbal apology, apart from helping Tou Tou with the asignment. To my mind, he started being more open to what TT suggests when they were treating the little girl.

TT managed to successfully adapt the treatment to the patient's immediate needs and noticed the eczema. RTZ could have given a prescription for the cold/high temperature, but her approach was swift and efficient. He also relies heavily on diagnosis via the pulse, while TT is more observant since she doesn't know how to read a pulse.

Second, when RTZ was doing most of TT's assignment and she was joking about writing in all those awkward positions. His body language initially indicated defensiveness, as if she were mocking him, then he gradually relaxed. And when she asked about him being enlightened after copying those treatises since childhood, he seemed ready to lash out, but then looked at her and realised she was genuinely curious - no trace of irony or mockery.

Third, when TT helped to convince the master to hire their friend part-time. All were instances that showed RTZ how he can work together with TT and that she can be an ally/friend.

Finally, how TT handled the escalating argument between the two friends. RTZ is not a good communicator, often comes across as agressive and judgemental. They were already exchanging hurtful words, which could have damaged their relationship, had TT not intervened. Her observations were on point, without taking anyone's side - the unexpected mediator.

The best relationship in this entire drama is between Tou Tou and her master, Ren Xin Zheng. I love their dynamic…
Yes, I liked this episode a lot too and agree with the points you made. The dialogues and content were heart-warming and thought-provoking. Hopefully, they will continue in a similar way moving forward. Seeing less of RTZ and Meng Meng also increased my enjoyment of the episode.

I have seen many dramas where ML and FL can be brothers, friends, work colleagues, etc. I think the problem here…
While I truly enjoyed ep. 11, it looks like RTZ's behaviour has been already glossed over. I guess the fact that he helped Tou Tou with copying that treatise is his form of apology. Nice gesture, but too little too late. My hope is that the drama will focus on the mentor-student dynamic and how TT grows due to it. I don't need romance - friendly banter can be just as fun to watch. Just please less of RTZ and his problematic relationship with MM.

RTZ's character is very problematic indeed. You see it from the very first scene. TouTou was late and perhaps…
Agreed, infatuation is the right word for what RTZ is feeling towards MM. And I also consider his parents as competent TCM practioners who put the patients' well being as top priority, at least from what we've seen thus far.

Maybe they are trying to be a surrogate family for MM to aid her recovery, since her parents are physically and emotionally unavailable. And they trust that RTZ will not cross the line. Far from ideal, but it's the best they can do in a complicated situation.

Although, when RTZ's mother was scolding him after the drinking incident, she specifically said to stay away from TT. Then she added stay away from 'the other girl' - not sure about the translation. I assume she was referring to MM. How can RTZ maintain a physical and emotional distance when he and MM stay together almost 24/7? It doesn't make sense to me. đŸ€”
