This honestly just seems like someone making assumptions after watching just one or two works by him where their favourite female side character didn't get much screentime. His first drama, My Journey to You, literally had coolest female characters. I'm still not over Shangguan Qian, she has to be my favourite cdrama assassin of all time.

The trailer was kind of a mindfuck in general (but in a good way), I remember that one of the most popular theories after the trailer came out was that this drama heavily plays with the whole illusion and reality concept, and the main characters are trapped in some dream. But now, after watching the drama, it doesn't really seem to be the case.
