Thanks for your contribution. I'm sensitive to romanticised rape in media and was looking forward to this drama…
Yeah. Kind of a pity they didn't do that, since most of the viewers actually seem to prefer consensual acts. I think what makes it harder to stomach is that it's violent (from what I've read in the comments), dubious consent is somewhat common in the BL genre but they usually don't show the physical violence aspect enough so that the viewers can ignore it if they want to.

Btw a bit off topic but your profile pic is so cute! It makes me want to rewatch The Untamed XD

For those who claim that can not stand the sa topic of this series, (although I also oppose to any kind of abusive…
Perhaps that's not what you originally meant to imply here, but I believe it's a bit odd to assume those who don't like SA in this drama can't separate fiction from reality. Some people just don't like some things in their fiction and that's alright as long as they aren't attacking those who do. It's just like how some people don't enjoy awkward kisses or immature characters, they know it's happening on the screen and those are fictional characters, they simply don't like it. They aren't kids who don't know any better, they're people with preferences.

Fiction ≠ Reality but personal preferences would always remain a thing. And I think it's lovely that this world is filled with different kinds of people who like different kinds of stuff in their fiction. The world would be a boring place without individuality. So, once again, someone can view this drama as fiction and still not like a few aspects, they're also free to talk about it respectfully. I'm not trying to change your opinion here, I'm just adding my perspective to this.

It's tough to enjoy a series when it includes such triggering scenes. While some people might be okay with it,…
Yeah, a start is always good even if it isn't perfect so I completely get that. Honestly I kind of hope 巫哲/Wu Zhe's works would get adapted in the future. I was so looking forward to 'Chasing the Light' since it's an adaptation of my favourite modern danmei (Saye) but the new cdrama rule that forbids even censored adaptations got me feeling sad as hell. She still has a couple more slice-of-life novels that stick close to the reality and struggles of being gay in less accepting environments, so may those ones get picked up one day and we would be able to watch these beautiful stories come to life on the screen.

Everytime I'm like 'ah yes, they finally found a loophole to adapt danmei without censoring it to the point where all romantic scenes are reduced to longing gazes' it turns out to have rape (ofc there's also exceptions, Unknown for example). Like damn, I'm not going to yuck yalls yum so don't come for me, but it has happened to me twice and I'm just left wondering if there's even any hope left for viewers like me anymore 💀 hope you all have fun though.

He was brutal. He has never cared for someone before, much more love, since he really doesn't know what love is.…
Kind of OT but this is the second time I've came across you in a comment section (the first time was under a movie iirc) and honestly, I just had to say that I love how you stay true to your morals and stick to your original words instead of altering them or watering them down during arguments, and you still remain as respectful as possible while doing so. I really admire that since users like you are quite rare. Sorry if this reply is way too random lmao.

I hope MDL approves my added tags such as 'Rape'. For some it might not be a big deal but even the "brutal sex"…
Thanks for your contribution. I'm sensitive to romanticised rape in media and was looking forward to this drama as I thought they'll cut off those parts from the novel, if it weren't for people like you being helpful in the comments, I would've ended up watching it. Adding those tags is even more helpful since people won't need to scroll down in the comment section anymore, they'll be able to know the tws much more easily just by checking the tags.

It feels like this drama has been airing since forever despite having just 20 episodes. How do you all even manage to survive such a long waiting time for the next episodes? If we ever had a zombie apocalypse in real life, I swear I'm sticking close to everyone here. Because if you can survive waiting for this, then you can survive ANYTHING.

Lowkey need the actor who played Kim Ho In to play some serial killer in a crime drama. Because the unhinged vibes he was supposed to give off in the beginning? Well, he completely nailed it. He even managed to make his cute smile look slightly creepy 💀

Honestly, I felt like Yang Haneul got off way too easy after severely bullying the mc. Yes, she had a sad backstrory, her mom died, and the same thing (upskirting) she did to the mc happened to her when the fake genie came to their school. But guess what? None of that was the mc's fault, the mc never wanted this to happen to her and she was the only one to help her up after the upskirt incident, to stand up for her, but Haneul never even apologised for bullying her till the end. Instead of realising that she was wrong or sympathising with her after going through the same thing, she continued to treat her like trash. There was no redemption arc. I don't remember hearing a single 'sorry' from her mouth. It was the mc who kept sobbing and apologising for lying to her by pretending to be genie, as if the bullying she went through was nothing in front of those stupid lies of hers.

I'm not saying I wanted this character to literally fall out of the window and die, but I wish she had at least apologised because upskirting your classmate is fucking terrible. It's legit sexual harassment. Not to mention, she used to hit her and snatch away her stuff just because a petty girl told her that she's spreading 'rumours' behind her back. No matter how much angst they threw her way, I couldn't feel bad for her bullyingass because she never truly seemed to regret it. She just had 'aw sucks that the reason I bullied her turned out to be a misunderstanding, anyways she sucks for fooling me online' written all over her face. I don't care how sad your life is, don't make someone else's life a living hell.

They really picked the prettiest girl to play the 'ugly' version of the FL lmao. My brain couldn't buy that she kept getting bullied for her looks when my eyes were too busy admiring her face. But then again, that's how school bullies are. You could be a goddess and they'd still call you an 'orc' like they did to her.

Moto's scenes were just heart-wrenching. What a cruel life this child had, every adult in his life failed him and it hurts more knowing that it's not just fiction, it's the reality. There's children like him who suffer everyday. It broke my heart when Moto was shown to develop trust towards Sala, perhaps even viewing her as a mother figure to some degree since he came from an abusive family, and how betrayed he felt when she turned out to be the same as her father.

Well, to me this was, rather than erotic or disturbing or disorienting, just kind of boring.Oh...and implausible.…
He was confined to just one place for long periods of time, his limbs were constantly tied up, he survived off canned food (that we don't even know was fresh or expired, or enough for him, let alone nutritious so there's a high chance of malnutrition), and already came from a dysfunctional family with an abusive mother before being sold off. Now add the physical injuries, emotional and mental trauma of sexual abuse on top of all that, plus the fact that he was handled by child traffickers who aren't really known for keeping kids healthy enough for them to plan an escape every 3-5 business days. It isn't so implausible that she, a grown woman with more power than he could ever have in any of those situations, was able to subdue a child like him. Just because he's almost as tall as her doesn't mean he's stronger.

Despite the fact he was a player and a manipulator and not a nice person, I still feel for him. They were both…
Exactly. I'd never get the mental gymnastics some people do to justify CSA. 'Oh he was a meanie, oh she was a victim of misogyny' he was still a child and they were adults. Plenty of us are dealing with misogyny just fine without preying on literal kids. Am I supposed to feel bad for these predators just because we share the same body parts? Hell nah.

A movie about pedophilia and someone still added the tag 'forbidden love' in there with 'romance' in the genres. I don’t know exactly who did this but whoever was behind it, I’d like to have a word with you. Preferably alone. Preferably in a boxing ring. Preferably with mitts made of concrete.

I think we all can collectively agree that he has the prettiest beauty spots ever. I especially love the ones under his eyes, I've often came across people with one mole under their eyes (I've got it myself) but I don't think I've ever seen someone with two of them before, it's so unique and brings more charm to his already charming eyes.
