Why are people in the comment section getting so offended over a list? Like... Chill, the op didn't even say anything against your beloved dramas, other users added and voted on it. What's the point in whining to get a drama removed anyways? It's bothering you? Then close your eyes. It's that simple.
So there is a chance for him to come back in a year or so?
Seems unlikely. If it was just public outrage against him, he could still get a chance by attempting to make up to them. But once the government is after you, it's a dead end... unless he starts working in Taiwan or somewhere else, but even then he'll rarely get roles because Taiwan cares about reputation too. Compared to him, Xiao zhan low-key lucked out during his scandal because the government took action against the ao3 website rather than the person himself.
Edit: A lil note for those who are still in the middle of typing a paragraph to call me an anti - Ask yourself, did I really made blatant accusations on Xiao Zhan or are you just over-analysing the word 'lucked out'? If you're offended by my wording then you can read my apology below (where I admitted that I should've expressed myself better) and leave me alone. Btw this is not directed at the user with a cat pf, but the @deleted guy.
I am no Chinese. But this was huge mistake and even going there knowing fully the what the tample meant for China.…
Re-read my comment, slowly and surely this time, and tell me just where I excused Japan's actions or made light of this situation. I literally said "Zhehan was undeniably insensitive and dumb as hell" so please, get off your high horse and don't assume I'm ill-informed about such a serious thing... because first, I live in Japan so I'm well-aware of the Japanese government's lack of remorse and attitude regarding Japan's war crimes judging by how they teach none of that in schools (most of my classmates don't even know Japan was in ww2), I never believed what they did deserves to be forgotten or forgiven. Second, my mom's Japanese-Korean so I've been taught everything related to Japan's war crimes against Korea, China and various other Asian countries—without any sugar-coating words that school history books use—ever since my childhood and I'm just as sympathetic as any native would be. I don't have any interest in defending Japan or shaming Chinese people for their valid feelings - on the contrary, I believe more people need to respect them as they've every right to be mad about this.
All I said was, he should be taught, acknowledge and learn from his mistakes, the chinese government banning him and ruining his livelihood isn't going to teach him anything. They're being controlling just for the sake of it. But go off if you like to twist my words so much.
I can't believe none of this happened to Kris Wu, a freaking serial rapist and pedo, because of course the victims of Nanjing Massacre matter (as they should) but it's 'too much work' to care about the rape victims now... Indeed, Zhehan was undeniably insensitive and dumb as hell for taking pictures at that shrine and of that Japanese car but he has already apologised along with his friend who hosted a wedding there, not to mention, if ZZH wasn't a changed man he would've still continued to visit that place which is something he hasn't done for YEARS. At most, he deserved backlash and proper education on his own country's history, not to be called a traitor and legit getting banned. I believe anti-Chinese sentiments were on rise due to the spread of covid so now, the government just decided to use him as a scapegoat to sing the song of patriotism :|
Ps: It would be very much appreciated if nobody typed out a history lesson in my replies. Just felt like clarifying, because I won't be able handle the cringe of someone acting like they're the only one educated in the whole comment section. Thank you <3
---- Edit: Talking about a few more controversies brought to the surface, Though he did had two books related to Japan (Kafka on the Shore and Killing Commendatore by Haruki Murakami) who can prove that he didn't start reading these books just recently? The shrine pictures are from years ago, he may or may not have seen these 2 books back then, and after realising what he had done, he stopped visiting those places. Also, I don't know about 'Killing Commendatore' but I've read 'Kafka on the Shore' before and it's not a documentary book, it's a fictional story about parallel universes(?) borrowing incidents from the past and more than half of the time Haruki Murakami was busy adding complicated metaphysics into his story (rip my braincells 🥺 I still haven't recovered them). He talked about everything in the most roundabout way possible and the beginning of the story is literally about Ufo sighting in Japan during ww2. There was also a character who killed stray cats to make flute out of their souls and leeches falling from the sky... I admit, I didn't complete it because it was confusing to no end, however it doesn't seem to provide much information regarding Japan's warcrimes or ww2 imo. I'm open to discussing it with someone who has completed this book though.
Edit 2: I'm aware that my comment is long already lol. But I'd still like to add that, despite more and more things against him coming out, I don't believe he's a traitor. Ignorant yes, but not a traitor. What he had done so far is: Visiting Japan frequently, taking pictures infront of a controversial shrine, taking picture of a japanese car, going to his friend's wedding hosted at yet another controversial shrine and meeting the melted wax candle-looking witch with questionable views (she's so irrelevant that I thought she already went six feet under many years ago tbh) who he did NOT tried to meet on his own accord and isn't even friends with, so it seems unlikely that he shares the same views as her. Out of all these things, the only thing he did purposely and was wrong to do so was taking pictures infront of that shrine and of that car. Other than that, he never spoke anything against China or even shared his political views. If he's dumb enough to be a traitor and clearly express that through his pictures, how did he suddenly gain braincells to not make blatant remarks on China? Do you all really think it makes sense?
The 'Coincidence?... I think not!!' crowd is doing legit mental gymnastics to 'prove' that he's a traitor. If you look at the big picture clearly, take the perfect timing and the fact that his social media accounts were banned thus he can no longer say anything in his defence, his 'nazi salute' picture purposely taken out of context - into consideration, you'll realise that it's all far-fetched and blown out of proportions. He was being insensitive, yet everyone's acting like he was caught exporting firearms to Japan or something.
I just noticed that their height difference is the same as in the novel, I'm so excited to watch Immortality!!
Honestly, their adorable height difference is one thing that I just can't seem to shut up about ever since I noticed it. (ㅠㅡㅠ) I swear, It's so perfect that our Moran can literally plant a peck on Chu Wanning's forehead with both of them standing, because Feiyu is half a head taller than Xixi. I still can't believe we've been blessed with such a perfect cast for ranwan.
I've decided to depart from this life and haunt Tencent’s main office as a vengeful ghost for this betrayal. Everyone, I'll leave my funeral to you. Please make sure to carve "Died while admiring her favourite sentence 'Absolute unit. Truly Awe-inspiring' on her deathbed" on my gravestone or else, I'll possess a cockroach and break into your house to drown in your morning coffee.
Wait, if hyx actually dropped today... then what? How in the hell am I supposed to react to that? Would immediately fainting be a normal response?
Edit: Currently writing my will because the replies made me realise that I might react in several different ways, and none of them are considered completely sane or harmless.
Fans who supposedly know Li Hongyi 'the most': Omg he's so upset with this drama, he probably didn't wanted to play this role because of the lead actress! Meanwhile, Li Hongyi and Yangzi legit acting like childhood bffs in the bts: https://m.douban.com/movie/trailer/278056
Can't wait to hear Pei Ming say "hoho~" in this drama as if he's an old man in red clothes with a white beard who got underpaid workers in his North Pole factory and likes breaking into people's home once a year to eat their kids' snacks and take credit for gifts that the parents bought.

I'm joining you all though, hope the penguin would forget whatever grudges it has against us and drop hyx.
