Exactly! I had so much fun reading the comments about theories, character development, or just hotness appreciation…
"Let's meet again in another comment section" fr, we definitely should. Perhaps, an equally beautiful drama (with this same beautiful cast ๐) would reunite us all again in the future.
Not seeing the 'airing' tag next to this drama's title genuinely pains me... And not to sound corny or anything (which usually means I'm definitely going to sound corny) but I love you all. I haven't had so much fun under a comment section in a while and I really appreciate the whole vibe this one has. We're equally unhinged. We're equally whipped. And when it comes to angst that GJM unleashes on us once in a while like the heartless mf he is, we're in this together.
I think so unless I'm misreading everything. From the comments below, it seems like they will drop a vip/express package that'll have rest of the episodes. And once it's available for streaming (even if only for the people who bought the pack), it's basically out for everyone since every ๐ดโโ ๏ธโ๐ณ๏ธ site will have it.
At this point I will put Ying Lei into my pocket and run away. Why does he have to be so adorable and sweet and nice and cute and precious and friendly and caring andโwell, you get the gist. I've ran out of words, but I'll never run out of my love for him. From today onwards he's my adopted son who just happens to be hundreds of years older than me, played by an actor who's also older than me...
On the one hand, I'm obviously going to binge the shit out of this drama. But on the other, fuck whoever decided to drop all the episodes today I'm going to start bawling my eyes out. Because tf you mean I won't have anything to look forward to everyday anymore? ๐ญ
So confused, the two main characters have a huge age gap? Gu Tian Yu was like an adult while he was writing letter…
It's a time travel thing actually. Tian Yu's letters were being sent to A Xiang's past, when he was a child, and A Xiang's letters went to him in the future. It was confirmed when he was talking to Chen Yuxin (the other author) and the timelines weren't matching up, he thought she was misremembering until he found out about A Xiang's death and desperately sent letters, hoping that it would reach the childhood A Xiang and change the future, because he was told to make different decisions and avoid staying behind in the same place this time. Which was successful as you can tell by the happy ending, where the butterfly effect was so huge that many lives were changed and so was the world to some degree, the only thing that stayed the same was that they were able to meet each other again, but on a much happier occasion.
So, basically, they're around the same age. Their letters just found each other when they needed someone in their life the most.
The way this drama's been my only source of serotonin since the past few weeks when it's angsty to the point where I want to pull out my hair and start wailing like a vengeful ghost... Tf did GJM even add into it? Black magic?? Every episode literally leaves me crying and I'm still like 'I loved that, do it again.'
Villain:nahSeducer: hell yeahJust give us a bl already
Fr. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he's a proper antag(ay)onist. He isn't even subtle, censorship can't contain him the same way his birth place, where he was imprisoned, couldn't contain his body.
It's lowkey killing me how even in his weakened state after being poisoned, the first thing Li Lun did was change his clothes into those iconic black robes. He's the type of guy to wear luxurious pajamas to bed in case he dies in his sleep. The man himself might not be straight but he's got his priorities straight for sure. I love him. If he died, the world would lose a drama king and a fashionista so he better stay here till the very end.
Some of you might think I'm insane for this but there's something about Li Lun (and obviously Yan An) that's just so... weirdly fitting for a possessive ml type of role? He can somehow create chemistry with anyone. Zhu Yan and him were already making me howl, then there was THAT one shot of Wen Xiao plopped into water while Li Lun stares the shit out of her (I didn't ship them but I'm not blind, they did look good together) and now during the ending of ep 25, he was being an asshole as always but goddamn I'd be lying if I said Yichen and him wouldn't make an interesting couple. I said 'interesting' because of course it won't be a healthy relationship ๐ but they got chemistry. Those who get it, get it. Those who don't, don't.
Edit: replayed that scene and took screenshots just to further prove my good taste? insanity? Idk. But I hope someone would get my vision because just look at them, LOOK AT THEM https://i.postimg.cc/DfHvm6wX/1731358651979.jpg
There's many actors who either serve average performances or have a limited range in their initial works, but from the very beginning, THIS MAN CAME PREPARED. He does not sign up for dramas to improve his acting, treating his work like some kind of acting school that pays the learner in it, he improves first and then acts. You can tell he genuinely cares about his craft and I love how deeply he respects his characters. I can totally see him becoming even more popular in the future, he's going to become one of the top actors for sure.
"When people knock down a divine statue, and trample and spit on it, they never get it up and kneel before it to worship it again." ngl this was a banger line. Li Lun you poetic lil shit, drop that diss track already, I know you've got bars.
Honestly, more focus on Zhuo Yichen since the past few episodes and this whole Lord Bingyi arc has to be my favourite thing so far. Bingyi's backstory feels like an actual mythological tale and I just can't get enough of it. The visuals were already impressive enough, but they've been even more beautiful lately.
With each passing moment, I become less and less sure of Ying Lei's identity as the mountain god. Like seriously... look at his big round eyes, this man is a puppy and always has the most puppy-like expressions on his face. I feel like that's why he enjoys hanging out with Bai Jiu so much, one is a hamster and the other is a puppy, both of them are keeping these secrets.
So, basically, they're around the same age. Their letters just found each other when they needed someone in their life the most.

Me. I would watch it.
