It felt more like a documentary, except it was about the lives of fictional characters that were written quite realistically, so I'd say it's one of those movies where nothing much happens but the mood and ambience carries the piece. It would be disappointing if you're looking for an interesting plot, but if you've nothing better to do or just want to watch something to relax, it's a pretty good choice.

You should try Wu Chang Jie! It's like a mix between Tgcf and 2ha. I've never read a novel so alike to 2ha before, not even Yuwu is that similar tbh. However, the ml is a bit annoying and there's tons of angst in this so make sure to have a tissue box by your side.

Though I haven't seen much of Zhai Xiaowen, he did had that slightly dazed look on his face in most of the short clips I've checked so far, which very much resembles Xie Lian's 'didn't know whether to laugh or cry' face/expression that makes upto 70% of the novel. I also believe he would be able to portray Xie Lian well since he's not playing a character with personality polar opposite to his.

If I be honest, I actually think both of the (rumoured) main cast for hualian fit their roles, at least visual-wise, even more than most of the fancast did and this is coming from someone who wanted Song Jiyang to play as XL and Ding Chengxin as HC at the cost of my life. Zhai Xiaowen might not be as experienced as Zhang Linghe but he's not straight-up terrible either, he has the potential and room to improve, not to mention he's also gorgeous af and his voice is pretty gentle lol. As for Zhang Linghe, I don't think anyone can disagree that he just radiates Hua Cheng energy so I don't even need to explain why he's perfect for his role. Rather than being upset or disappointed, I'm pleasantly surprised with the cast.

'Lucky Star' as a title is better for a typical modern rom-com cdrama imo...

No offense from my side either, but Ghost Wedding is something that more than half of the fandom already knows, and it has been openly discussed in the comment section since forever. It's not the kind of spoiler that'll ruin the novel or this drama for anyone.
