Though it doesn't justify the story, it's supposed to be as spoiler-free as possible and in this aspect, it does the job well. But I think the synopsis hyx had before (when it first got confirmed) was better, I've no idea who was jobless enough to change it for no reason.

I'm just going to say it, I'm sad that we didn't get a movie spinoff with Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan. I wanted to see our 'bright moon and gentle breeze' paired with 'distant snow and cold frost' so badly! I can't help wondering how their adventures together were like to gain such gentle and meaningful titles from the people. But I'm not complaining or criticising anything, I'm just crying over a missed opportunity to make Songxiao shippers go feral.

Unfortunately, the convo did happen but the staff never said August is the airing time. The person asked if it is expected to be released in August, the staff said they are working on it so it's not shelved. They never made any explicit agreement on August nor deny it. But then again, the staff was a member from a different company under the main production company of hyx, so maybe they only knew the deadline date of the project at most and had no idea about releasing date that's why they didn't confirm it.

Yeah I'm also glad that it wasn't romanticised, it's (unfortunately) a rare sight in danmeis.

Then I'm sorry because as I said, you might want to slap the ml various times, the non-con chapters in this novel are heart-wrenching (however they were not romanticised, they were SUPPOSED to be heart-wrenching) it's like slowly seeing the mc getting torn and fall apart. I'm actually not much into the main ship, they were only cute as kids and in the beginning chapters when the readers had no idea what the ml did to the mc in the past; It's the story, the mc and the realistic portrayal of controlling and dysfunctional family that I love.
In short: If you want fluff, you'd be disappointed. But if you want pain, give it a try.

It's actually the 3rd time, yes I went back and counted lmao, but now I'm feeling bad for spamming so much. I usually don't nag but after completing 2ha and all it's extras, I was still left wanting more and no novel could remind me of it ever again so I just got too excited when I finally found one.

Hope you're liking it so far! It's a bit confusing in the beginning but gets A LOT better after a few chapters.

Yes, TONS of them, and there's a black skeleton horse called Wuya who died from starvation to accompany his previous owner and then his spirit was summoned by the ml, his scenes are honestly the coolest. I've never seen such a badass horse in my whole life. But Lao wen, beware of the explicit non-con chapters in this novel, they're even more repulsive and harder to read than 2ha's (I'm kind of surprised you've read 2ha already though).

↪The ml, I've said it before and I'll say it again, he's legit Taxian Jun. Nobody can tell me otherwise. He might not share the same past as Mo Ran but he does resemble him both personality and look-wise (his mother was known as the prettiest woman just like Mo Ran's, thus he's also beautiful af). He used to be an Demon Supreme (he's still human, he just practiced forbidden techniques) in his past life just like how Taxian Jun was an Emperor of the cultivation world.
↪The mc, he's righteous and never harms anyone, wears white, is obsessed with orchids as much as Chu Wanning loved haitang blossoms, and has an extremely thin face. Except that his personality is not 'cold' (I used apostrophes because Chu Wanning wasn't exactly cold either) and he doesn't have phoenix eyes, his eyes are rather big and innocent looking like a deer's and the ml often compares him to a innocent deer because of that lol.
↪In their present life, the mc and ml have matching weapon (swords to be more exact) like ranwan's tianwen and jiangui. Even their swords' names are taken from the same verse in a poem.
↪Love surpassing two lifetimes/Reincarnation stuff, the ml also has their past lives' memories but the mc doesn't.
↪Well-written female characters. I can't say that they're all likable, but they're written like actual characters instead of how some writers make them out to be just a bunch of brainless stepping stones for the main characters to grow and learn from.
↪There's '4 Great Ancient Treasures of the World' like the '3 Forbidden Techniques' in 2ha. The ml used 'Xuanyuan Heavenly Secret Talisman' (which can summon the soldiers of all 3 realms - immortal/mortal/underworld) to wreak havoc in his past life and attacked the whole cultivation world, all just to bring the mc back to himself... sounds familiar doesn't it? That's why I repeat that he's similar to Taxian Jun over and over again like a broken record. XD

The only downside to this novel is, you might want to slap the ml many times. He's pitiful yet annoying. You've been warned so don't blame me. That's all.

Edit: Forgot to add, they weren't blood related brothers in their past lives and the mc had no feelings for the ml so there's no need to worry about incest.

Yayy!! I finally got an opportunity to desperately promote Wu Chang Jie as if I owe the author money. Alright all jokes aside, this is the only novel I've found that resembles 2ha and not in the way that makes you wonder if the author copied it or something, but rather like the tropes 2ha and this novels shares are both executed to perfection.
Here's some (non-spoilery) similarities I found so far, but I've put them under spoiler because they're long:

Out of nowhere, I decided to check his profile and I'm once again reminded of how underrated he is. JUST GIVE HIM MORE ROLES ALREADY!! You need talent? He got that. A fresh face that rarely anyone has seen? He got that. An actor who can sing osts so you could save some pennies? He got that too. Why does he still have to be so underrated?

Lmao what? The flower was Shimei's way of taking revenge, not an excuse to declare Taxian Jun completely innocent (I don't hate him completely either though, he was incapable of feeling emotions but once he did, he decided to drink poison and end his life, it says a lot) how else do they expect Shimei to get revenge when everyone in butterfly clan on earth is even weaker than mortals who don't cultivate? Ask his sister for revenge? but she's just a one person and whoever wreaks havoc on the moral realm is destined to be everyone's enemy forever, how can Shimei choose someone close to himself for it? Planting a flower of hatred into someone is the best and only way imo. Sometimes I wonder if they were even reading 2ha in the first place or accidentally believed a fanfic to be the original novel, I don't get why else someone would come to this conclusion if they've read the novel.
