I am stuck on ep 2 and came here to look for reasons to drop it. As predicted, MDL comments never disappoint. Though this show did. I am soooo bored. Even with 2x speed m bored.
He moved away, but stayed in touch. Most dramas show that they have lost connection once one of the two moves away for whatever reason. It is the most irritating thing for me in dramas. Why cant they call? How expensive is an international call these days? Dont yall have zoom or skype or whatsamits??? These two are actually using technology which we have and can easily use in LDRs.
Maybe the way she reacted when it was revealed who the MLs father was? I knew they were building up to it, esp with all the "i will never leave you" promises they were making each other.
I was gonna give it a 9 coz i so very rarely give a 10. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Despite the kinda weak plot, they made up for it in the comedy and chemistry. The extra point is for the epilogue in ep 10. Man that was some super self parodying. GMMthee v had me spitting out the water i unfortunately chose to drink at that exact time. 😆😆😆😆
Funny, I felt the other way around! ML learns and grows a lot during the drama but FL more or less stagnates in…
She stagnates i agree, but that is more or less my point. She does not grow, because she seems to have it all together. The ML is the one who undergoes character growth because he is shown to have flaws that he works on by the end. She does not change because i did not see her faltering anywhere except when she sees her ex and his not yet revealed to be lover when they are at breakfast.
I’m actually surprised by this comment. I think you’re one of the few people who think FL is perfect. People…
Truth be told, i skipped those eps and just went and read recaps till they came back to present. I hate the noble sacrifice trope. But from what i read about it i understood that she planned some outing with him where she lied about getting a job and tricked him into thinking they were moving together. That imo, was her being strong and brave and taking the higher moral ground of "doing this for his good" . IMO, she would have been weaker if she had just admitted that she wants him to go, will miss him terribly, but wants him to come back better and stronger to stand by her side, where he would not need her refuge and would continue to keep in tpuch with him.
The show gave me terrible whiplash at ep 5 from the genre shift and then went to pretty boring i do you better, you do me better for a good many eps. But we finally get to the HEA. So all good ig.
The comedy is berry good (iykyk) esp in the first half. KTO nails it as Dal. Loves those scenes especially.
They brought in a cgi(terribly lit so i can guess it was badly done) bird that hung around only to go down in a ball of flames. Sigh, sad. That poor fledgling fledgled in the cage only to see him mom's funeral pyre. Will it come back for revenge in season 2 i wonder... interesting. I would pay to see THAT.
What disappointed me was the reveal of the villain's motives. Was he not warning his daughter, the king, lee gang, dal, jae un against love? But his motivation for general death and destruction was... erm.. love? Make it make sense.
You mean to say the antagonist fell in love with the previous queen but spent half the show torturing the son…
I think his grand plan was to see the dowager suffer seeing the ones she loved dying or in miserable pain. I think also that his plan was to dispose off of Gang once he gave him the heir.
Yeah i cannot forgive the eh well you dont have the mole, so you cant be my dead wife (the only proof being a clean ring on a very dead finger..)
It really was a great drama. But i have a complaint. The FL was too perfect. There was no balance in their personalities.
The ML had faults, his social anxieties, overconfidence (kind of justified, he is a prodigy of sorts), lack of communication.
But the only time i saw the FL faltering was during her divorce with Wu Fu. Seeing her desperately trying to hold on to her breaking marriage made her seem human. What woman would not want to tear her ex's head off? It was great to watch.
But then she becomes this paragon of perfection that was frankly intimidating. She pushes ML away for "his own good", sticks by him when he closes himself off, lets down a potential suitor quite amicably, is a queen at work ( again that may just be her experience so cant fault it), communicates well with her parents about butting out of her love life.
I am in my 30s too, but boy i am not this sorted at all! The show should have given us some weak moments for her too.
