Nice rec for those who like some mystery in their romance… Memory Lost also came to my mind suddenly. The main couple’s story started when they met again, though, and they were both in the police profession (ML was a police detective and the FL a profiler). They were in love years ago and engaged to each other but some psychos obssessed with them tampered their memories. It has more holes in its plot like the Swiss Cheese but it was entertaining and the main couple’s chemistry was sizzling hot especially in the second part, plus the crimes and villains were very interesting to watch. I would rewatch that one.

Thanks for sharing the good and the bad parts, as well as some pitfalls to avoid. Regarding these Cdrama endings, I agree with you. Why leave the viewers with more ??? in their minds instead of being satisfied with a more conclusive ending? I got burned so many times with a lot of these Cdrama endings just because the directors or screenwriters deliberately chose open-ended or worse, even tragic finales to generate more discussions, convinced that this make their dramas more “unforgettable”, and give them more “emotional depths”. I personally dislike this approach because of the lack of clarity and resolution in the end does ruin the drama for me. The Double is one example. For me, it would have been a great drama if not for that ending. The fact that the drama director had to make a post drama statement stating it had a happy ending just to shut up dissatisfied drama goers is a testament that it was a big let down in the end. And there are many more Cdramas like that. They start out great then they get the dreaded rushed, unsatisfying ending later on. That is why I love spoilers the best…it helps me know what to expect before I decide if I would want to invest my precious time in it or not.

I like Miles Wei as an actor and have watched most of his dramas where he is always the male lead so I did not really dislike watching him in this one even if he is only the second male lead. I was more curious in seeing him play a different character from his usual ones since this is the first time I’ve seen him play a role as a villain.🤭

I’m watching Flourished Peony right now and while it has a good plot, the romance is really slow burn, although the main leads are always spending time together most of the time.
