I know ML wants to be with FL, but having Gao Ran protect her would have kept her safer. Unless he's planning to give up the "throne" to Gao and leave with FL to "see the world".
Old Zheng is really making me angry now. And Shi, get some courage and do the right thing - don't be such a wimp just like the court and you too Qi Zheng!
After all the angst in a few other series, I'm actually enjoying this a lot. Just right for busy busy summer days of friends and errands when one doesn't want to be teary when going out or stressed when going to sleep.
Both the ML and the SML have good hearts, strategies and martial arts. If only they'd stop flapping their eyelashes at the FL and show her their inner strength, maybe she'd be interested. She's ambitious and doesn't need a skinnyjean soyboy.
I'm really enjoying this and wonder why the rating is so low. They're exposing the weaknesses of gender discrimination, commercial corruption, religious superstition, relationship insecurities and probably more than I could name.
And yay, Deng Wei took that silly mustache and beard off (I like his hair with the dark clothes but not his baby face when he wears white) - still not sure if the Zheng grandpa/grandson can be fully trusted.
I said I wasn't going to watch after Ep28 but I did. And to me, it was an OE. When Haixia killed Haiqi, she had the "antidote" pill in her hand. What if he took it and his mind got strong again, that's why he used the butt of his knife in his fight with Haiyan and got himself killed? And if Qiling can heal Haiqi, maybe he healed Haixia too ... I hope we get the same actor playing Wuxie in season 2.
1. Although she does love him, I think Ye Li couldn’t deny that a part of her, in some moments, the debt she…
Sometimes when the love and hurt run so deep, that words are not enough to express one's emotions. It's a mature alternative to walk away to give oneself time to reconsider the facts instead of having a loud catfight which leads to regret afterwards.
I can understand both of them, and how they were hurt due to the evil from the various sides, and the actions taken by several individuals to survive/save their families. Ye Li's PTSD is extreme but necessary for self-preservation. Yao's reactions are justified because there isn't anyone who he could trust and he feels so betrayed. It's like caring/caregiving for someone who has dementia (they can't help it) and then finding out some of it is an act. So traumatic for both of them - but love has to prevail, isn't that the only hope that humans have?
I watched till end Ep38, read the spoilers and that is enough for me. Will watch Season 2 if indeed Haixia comes back. I enjoyed this, but can't bear the thought of a SE.
So sad when Hailou sees and knows that Haixia has helped them along the way, but he can't find him. I'm missing Haixia so much too and hope they can be reunited once more.
