The weibo clip I shared is the first part of the scene where Ai Mi's character is napping while HMH's character is micro-emoting. Fairy不修仙's clip is from a different angle for the second part of the scene, just before Ai Mi's character wakes up.
Wait long enough and a HMH fan on weibo will definitely compile everything together about the scene being shot, including at least six different angles of HMH using a fan to try to keep cool on set for that scene (more than 20 clips here from various sources): https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5200178275681035
For HMH's micro-emoting facial expressions or hand gestures, maybe you can consider making a separate post at some point compiling a few clips?
Ai Mi is keen on this role as her second FL for a drama project, since she has worked for more than 10 years in…
Perhaps you can help me understand where you are coming from.
1) Ai Mi has acted in the entertainment industry of China for more than 10 years, working her way up from bit roles to important supporting roles in at least 26 dramas, as well as supporting roles and guest roles in at least 10 movies (MDL does not have the complete list of her involvements). She is awaiting the release of her first FL drama by Youku "Above The Wall" (trailer for this mystery-suspense-crime drama is out if you look for it), and already enjoyed her first FL in the movie "Break Through" released in China during November 2024. Why must someone be blamed, if this role is offered to Ai Mi and as a veteran of this industry, Ai Mi wants her first FL role in a historical drama to be KTTPH after reading the script?
2) What do you believe about romance? What are your ideas for a convincing portrayal of a relationship on-screen?
3) How would you convince an audience if a script in a historical costume drama necessitates a contractual marriage between a husband and wife starting out completely on the wrong footing with a significant age gap between them, not helped by the fact that both individuals are skeptical, do not like each other and do not trust each other even before the marriage? Huangyang Tian Tian the original actress for this drama is one year older than Ai Mi, and Ai Mi is her most obvious direct competitor.
Once upon a time in C-Ent, actresses had to kiss actors at least twenty years older than them. I find it gross when the actress has no choice but fortunately in this era, it does not have to be the case. I generally don't like modern PDA in my historical dramas such as kissing, so I am quite comfortable that this specific director is in charge because of his body of work from 2014 and before.

I am genuinely curious and would like to understand where you are coming from. I am sure you and I have a generational gap, in terms of what you have watched and what I have watched in C-Ent.

On a different tangent, GYJ is going to exhaust our leads with the amount of micro-facial emoting being well done (this is from July of HMH, which you might have already seen but set to music): https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5191121841686383
I love these two together, but will this movie be made after all or is cancelled?
[ 2023年10月25日消息,76 岁的侯孝贤导演身患失智症,现已退休!这意味着,其筹备已久甚至已勘景的新作《舒兰河上》无法成行。] - It was reported on 25 October 2023 that the 76-year-old director was afflicted by dementia to the point that he retired, so this movie cannot be made.
(Will KIV if this hashtag #千载衣鱼# gets more usage on weibo and douyin)
I found these original lines clearly uttered by Neo Hou, which now give much-better context to a certain clip. If you add this to your collection, it is best to describe as "Xiao Wuyi pleading with his mother on behalf of his older brother": https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5199060202161142
This also had me edit one part of my discussion post, whereby I translated 世子 from both articles as "eldest son" because the Crown Prince is usually the legitimate heir and oldest son of the First Wife.
Thanks for your hard work compiling all this! There's nothing like knowing your co-stars have at least 10 years…
People will say whatever they want. What is most important is what each actor achieves to add to their career, for their goals. He Landou is the female actress of greatest interest to me, followed by Ai Mi and Li Landi. These three are very smart in their career paths and have a lot of potential because they aim to improve their acting akin to playing a guzheng as opposed to playing a piano, unlike an unfortunate Li Qin who can act well in the right modern drama or historical drama but (she or her agency or both) picks the worst scripts or roles. That's why Fated Hearts might be her best work to date when it airs in September, given the script and the role finally matching.
Trying to catch the eye of heavyweight directors such as Chen Kaige, Tsui Hark or Zhang Yimou literally means something outstanding in a role attached to a decent or good drama script has to be produced first. These directors already ignore almost every popular hot actor or actress in C-land for the past 20 years because they want their Gong Li (muse of Chen Kaige and Zhang Yimou), their Lin Ching-hsia (muse of Tsui Hark and other directors of the 80s and 90s) or someone who demonstrates potential to reach that level. And it's a fact that many actors and actresses just cannot reach that cut, regardless of how many fans they have.
Ai Mi is keen on this role as her second FL for a drama project, since she has worked for more than 10 years in movies and dramas for support roles and bit roles to finally be FL in a war movie released in November 2024 and had also wrapped up her first drama as FL (but not yet released by Youku) before commencing KTTPH:

I prefer to put under a spoiler, because some people would prefer to have no idea of what is happening.
As to your BTS today, the two leads are wearing mourning clothes while standing at the front of the chinese equivalent of a funeral procession. I provide a different angle BTS that you can add to your compilation, whereby HMH has to portray restrained grief and restrained anger: https://weibo.com/1845939362/PFvFK4Tew
I don't know if Xiao Wuyi is leading the funeral procession for his father, wrt to the scene that you have already shared BTS for (and what I have here is a different angle).
Thanks for your hard work compiling all this! There's nothing like knowing your co-stars have at least 10 years…
Sure!
One thing: 合卺 (Hejin) in this case is the exchange of wedding wine in cups using two halves of a gourd in the privacy of the bridal chamber (not dinner), prior to the consummation of marriage. Judging by the disruption- There will be no consummation. Since they are using that type of gourd, the wine will be bitter. And since they didn't finish drinking due to Xie Jiayu, it's as good as refusing to share all joys and sorrows or ups and downs together.
The argument with authority BTS is 10 August (It is possible that Xiao Wuyi is asking for a chance to do something, or apologising for a mistake and wanting to be given approval to rectify something).
Here's a compilation of HMH arguing with Ai Mi (I believe you already stuck a few clips up), where I am guessing he is upset with his new wife over something and feeling disappointed: https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5197288483850070
His micro-facial expressions have improved significantly. This director is probably doing his usual "make my actors emote with the face" emphasis.
You can add all the above to the respective collections, so people can see.
That said, Raja39186 on Tiktok is a Neo Hou fan. Has videos such as the exchange of wedding wine on the wedding night being disrupted by Xie Jiayu possibly trying to attack Xiao Wuyi with something which he intercepts ( posted a weibo link above with a more suitable fan edit for music, but I remember you said you cannot access weibo):
Thanks for your hard work compiling all this! There's nothing like knowing your co-stars have at least 10 years…
Two douyin links have been taken down. One is the strawberries and cream outfit that you mention. The other is of them running together (the first douyin link).
There's one BTS of the wedding night where Xiao Wuyi and Xie Jiayu clearly had a disagreement (disruption initiated by Xie Jiayu). They never finished drinking the wedding wine from the cups tied with red string:
During that wedding wine fiasco, Xiao Wuyi wants to make something clear to Xie Jiayu and not be interrupted (I'm guessing he's not keen on this marriage):
WXY can do authoritative very well, especially on horseback and as a general. If HMH follows this director's instructions, he should do just as well or better in his own style for this role as a general for the first time. I say this because I could never finish watching a HMH drama before FoF, due to his acting lacking depth and nuance and range for me. GJM enabled HMH to expand significantly by pushing him to the limits, although I hear GJM's treatment of HMH was problematic and unfair in several ways. This director will be able to make the cast emote without issues, also because of what he wants in the little details.
For me, directors and screenwriters are essential to a drama or film. For emoting without all the PDA in C-dramas these days, the 1992 movie 新龙门客栈 starring Lin Ching-hsia, Tony Leung Ka-fai and Maggie Cheung was directed by Raymond Lee and produced+written by Tsui Hark who has the final say. Director Gao Yijun also uses little details pertaining to hands, fingers or items being exchanged/held/fought over or discarded, zooming in on subtle changes for facial expressions, etc.
Link here, for the remastered movie with mandarin dialogue and English subtitles (I would prefer the original cantonese dialogue because it's more touching for me): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCy1YvYGsi0
Ai Mi being smart should be very careful about the xianxia or wuxia dramas she picks, and at this point in her career should not go for a xianxia or wuxia movie unless there is a solid director plus good script from a screenwriter.
Wow. I didn't realise she acted in so many of the dramas that I watched already. I'm actually glad that she will…
She's actually been a female lead in a Youku drama (filming has wrapped but not yet released the drama) and also a female lead in a movie released in November 2024, before taking up KTTPH with Neo Hou. That said, there's been several Ai Mi bashers on that particular page, so I decided to put together a summary which you may find informative:
The weibo clip I shared is the first part of the scene where Ai Mi's character is napping while HMH's character is micro-emoting. Fairy不修仙's clip is from a different angle for the second part of the scene, just before Ai Mi's character wakes up.
