I rarely watch Chinese movie. That's why I am not familiar with Zhao Dong Yu until ALP. I hope other actress in the industry can also reach this kind of performance. I am so sick with all those pretty faces but no skill.

Hahahahahahaha!!! I forgot my exact reaction when I watched AOL back then. But I didn't remember crying too much. L&R .... the ending give me such a "meh" feeling. Unfortunately ....

Drama that makes me a cry baby is Nirvana in Fire 2. When the ML father dead ...... so painful.

Honestly, I am concerned in watching ep 47-49 on Sunday. Since tomorrow I need to go working in the morning. Hopefully my eyes is not too swollen .....

I plan to watch FIYS later on. Right now my mind is too full with APL. I am actually looking forward of his drama with Yang Mi.

Yeah, the angst!!! From both ML and FL. AOL original novel has its moment of angst (after Xu Feng death), but for me the drama failed to give me the correct level of pain that I had expected. L&R ......., pretty sure we have met each other in L&R forum discussion before. The L&R novel itself is rather bland actually, the drama is better. But then, the angst moment just ......

Aside from Zhao Dong Yu, I am also impressed with Xu Kai here. He for certain can do better in some aspect, but the angst he has shown this far is very good. Every time he cries silently, my heart hurts

Agree on Zhao Dong Yu performance. This is the first time I see her work. And wow! The pain I got from watching Ashes of Love and Love and Redemption could not compare with those three last episodes preview.

The wait is a true torture. The preview of ep 49 should have given you the first taste of Shang Gu pain.

I cry with him everytime Shang Gu makes him cry in this last arc. So painful.

That's why I am so looking forward to the moment when Shang Gu finally know everything. Her pain has to be so great since she will realize how much Bai Jue loves her and how much she has hurt him, and she no longer has any chance to salvage anything. Based on the last chapter of the novel, Shang Gu after Bai Jue death will think the world already lost its color and even has thought that the 3 realms is not worth it.

Three more episodes, but 1 week waiting, Hiksss .......

If possible I want to see how they gonna live after Bai Jue rebirth. Shang Gu perhaps will be "annoyed" at him for keeping secret. But I do believe that she will never let Bai Jue out from her sight at least for a few thousand years, fear that he concocting something behind her back again, hhahahahaha.

Same! I think the novel end is too abrupt. They just meet again and then the end. I want to see a little lovey dovey, perhaps a little explanation here and there about how Bai Jue can come back to life.

I really hope that Bai Jue death happened very early in ep 49. So that we can see the full extend of Shang Gu pain and then a fulfilling happy ending.

Regarding Zhi Yang, I believe they will follow the novel. But I am afraid we will only see him in ep 48 and 49.

Yeah, the angst is building up right now. We see how Shang Gu hurt Bai Jue unknowingly. The thing with tea, I don't remember ever reading that in the novel so I think it is a drama addition. Well, the more Bai Jue suffer under Shang Gu hand, the more the pain Shang Gu will be later on after she knows everything.

The last chapter of the novel is so beautiful in a way. Painful yes, but very beautiful. We can see the extend of Shang Gu love to Bai Jue. When I read she said to Zhi Yang that it was when Bai Jue disappeared that she felt the three realms better to not exist, I finally can see how much Bai Jue means for Shang Gu. I hope to be able to see this portrayed in my screen.

I really hope the drama will add on something on father and son relationship in the end. Because I don't read anything about this in the novel ......

Bai Jue and Tian Qi bromance is gold. Love each of their interactions.

Watching Bai Jue in the last arc is very painful, especially if you are already privy to what will happen in the future. That is why I am so looking forward on how Zhao Dong Yu will portray Shanggu reaction after all truth is opened

I noticed his slender posture when he is in that black garb. I think the layers in his black costume is thinner than the white ones in the early episodes.

Exactly!! Watching the preview of ep 47 when it would be last time Shang Gu meet Bai Jue before his sacrifice is so painful. The novel also has this scene. Bai Jue even said in his heart that the pain from the sword is lesser than the pain brought by Shanggu words. It is when she said that she will neither love nor hate Bai Jue and they will be stranger

Yes, agree on his acting. I mean, people there are so judgmental toward actor/actress weight. Currently we have lots of underweight actor/actress that are so uncomfortable to be looked at. Even though perhaps he is fatter than usual in this, it is not really noticeable that can hurt our eyes.

I started to scouring Bilibili website (Chinese youtube). The majority of comment from passerby fans under ALP video actually quite positive. But from what I can derive from their comments, the bad review from hater in early episodes already done its damage. Therefore, it makes people wary to try watching this drama.

I don't what had happened behind the scene. But I somehow smell a conspiracy in this. The bad review seems to come too early. As if certain group has already stand-by and immediately attacked once the drama aired. Xu Kai is not fat in this drama. I think he looked bulked out because of the styling of Bai Jue in the beginning. Those clothes also quite thick as I see it. When he is Bai Jue v2, in black and thinner clothes, actually he looks slander enough.

Anyway, he is the god of war here. I would prefer the actor to have muscle than only skin and bone. To be honest, every time I saw a too thin actor acted out as general or someone with martial arts, I felt so uncomfortable. It was such an eyesore that even could take away my enjoyment in watching.

This is why I am here. To share the excitement and to discuss things with fellow drama watcher. I cannot have this kind of discussion with my friends in real life.

Honestly, I am of the group that prefer Bai Jue than Qing Mu. Qing Mu is a free man, without responsibility and any attachment. But responsibility is what make Bai Jue who he is. I fall in love with Bai Jue in ep 1 - 16. He loves Shang Gu, but he never shy away from his responsibility as true god. It is so contrast with Wu Xi love to Feng Yan. He took her away, didn't care about her responsibility, and damn all the consequences of his action.

Bai Jue loves Shang Gu, he doesn't want her to die, but he also knows that tribulation of chaos needs to be solved no matter what. So he gives the alternative, himself. The reasoning why Bai Jue chooses this way instead of Tian Qi way, is because he is a responsible man. He cannot shed away that burden from his shoulder despite his love to Shang Gu. That is why I love his character so much.

By the way, enjoy the novel. The novel is very beautiful in my opinion

Agreed!!!! This drama is very eye feast. CGI is also very very very good.

The one who pretends usually would be the one who bear the most pain. The pain is double. The pain of hurting the other and the pain of he himself receive from that respective other.

I wait for the time when truth will be revealed. How Shang Gu will face all of this? As far as I see, Zhao Dong Yu acting is top notch. I have been frustrated by a number of actress for their inability to express a pain so great that its like the whole world is crumbling.

The costume in this drama is very good. Those flowing light color looks very immortal and fairy like.
