you know I was using my own personal experience with people I've met. maybe I should've specified as it as "recommendations…
oh no, she was a just a reader/fan, but yeah it was a book written by a writer and her teenage daughter so it was rather silly but fun

I read a book with similar theme back in the day, it was actually a reader who fell in love with a book character (kinda like w) but they were never in the same "world" and I think the actions of the guy character kinda became like a text message? so his dialog would appear line by line. and he could see her as someone in the sky? I can't remember it was a long time ago xD

and in EY they did change some of the lines/actions on the "stage" so they could've came up with a way to say "we are alive" xD

I do agree those are part of my longer list, but honestly since in my circle of friends usually they start with…
but then they don't watch it! lol I am evil that way, I even recommended 14 days to a friend without warning xD

I recommenced MS to a not so new to kdramas friend, and she was crying for days xD

I was expecting that they'd actually try to fight the writer instead of going around in circles yelling haru ya haru ya xD though I still found it ironically fitting for their characters

Such a good list!! I still haven't seen anything like Circle since it came out :'(
thanks~
me too! this year I have 2 or 3 sci fi dramas on my radar, and I hope atleast they could come close with it's diversity ;)

the reason I said a veteran would like it less is that we tend to overanalyze dramas often, and end up expecting more.
I personally did love it regardless, but it was 1 out of 2 dramas my knowledge of kdramas made me hope for something more by the end ;)

Great article, with well-picked dramas that cover a variety of choices for a new watcher that wants something…
thanks❤ the problem mostly is how many dramas I could fit into one article before it becomes too long xD

and honestly right now I'm trying to do short variations of different subjects to keep the creative juice flowing ;p

yeah for the guys, I'd usually recommend dramas like signal, tunnel, 14 days, circle, prison playbook, money game, maybe chief kim and pegasus market for comedies, sometimes I hear your voice or life on mars.

the good thing about an article like this is that people can always make a pt 2, so maybe for the next one I'd add more recs~

Hi XingBack,Proposing a list of dramas for beginners is difficult. On my side, when I have to propose dramas to…
you know, I watched both city hunter and rooftop prince as a beginner, but tbh they were really not my style.
I had enough experience to know there were better dramas so I was able to force myself through them xD

I also avoided BOF, but I still find the lightness of EY suitable for my younger friends, sure it was a sort of parody for those dramas, but the basicness of it was "a side character that was fighting against the writer", and I even read a book like that as a kid so I always find that subject fun ;p

I agree with most of these. Except I would like to point out that if someone had tried get me to watch Strong…
I do agree those are part of my longer list, but honestly since in my circle of friends usually they start with "give us something simple and not too heavy" xD

I mean when I know the person and their preferences I can give them better recs, these are just basic dramas

Many of these are not very beginner's friendly imo. You've to understand that romcom in general is a genre highly…
you know I was using my own personal experience with people I've met. maybe I should've specified as it as "recommendations for females in their 20s" xD

honestly non of my friends would start stranger when I talked about it, and they'd never want to start anything medical. and some of them get scared easily so no ghosts for them either xD

at the end of the day, this is not a "you must follow" list, it's just a simple guide.

thanks~ usually I go more hardcore on the gifs but I'm feeling lazy xD

I apologize in advance; Strong Woman Do Bong Soon is a big trigger for me. from the ones I watched, I have 2 titles…
I do get that different people have different taste and different reactions, but these are things I've actually recommended to drama beginner friends in real life, and most of them did enjoy them and came back for more.

now I wouldn't give them this list and say "you must watch everything I showed you", that's why I chose such diverse dramas, some are light and simple, some are flashy, while others are suspenseful and fun~

I think Sky Castle did a wonderful job portraying truly strong women, especially through the show's progression.…
I have seen Sky Castle and I agree~ I always say, "female centered" dramas have the best female characters~

strong woman and weighlifting are the 2 dramas i recommend to my 10 year old sister and she loved weightlifting…
yep those are great bait, I used them on young family members or people that start with "I don't want anything too complicated for my 1st drama becasue I don't understand the language" xD
