Overall I like this drama. The only minor complaints I have is the pacing, too much focus on the Yongzhou state, and mediocre fight choreography and lack of action/ fight scenes for a wuxia.

Haha I stumbled across this drama and almost started watching it but decided to read some reviews first. Thanks for saving me hours that I would have wasted.
Nice review, btw. I can’t stand characters like this so I will pass. Sometimes I’m baffled by high ratings to find out it’s a crappy drama.

No, not his sister since she just started to serve in the army in one of the recent episodes so I don’t think she has martial arts skills.
In episode 4, Huang Chao refers to her by name and said she’s his subordinate. Her name wasn’t preceded by any titles or anything though so not sure if she serves in his army or not. Could be just one of his subjects that live in his state 🤷🏻‍♀️

You’re at the part with heavy palace drama. A lot of people found it draggy and not much action and fighting but it gets better. Thank goodness

Prince Huang Chao brought up the 3 female martial artist and one is his subordinate. Up through episode 26, her character hasn’t been introduced so maybe she doesn’t have a role in this drama.

You didn’t miss much. I finished it but thought it was an average drama. Didn’t wow me. It’s pretty forgettable…I already forgot what happened haha

Definitely over rated. Not my cup of tea. Maybe if I was a teenager but I’m not so this wasn’t for me.
I’m a fan of both leads but this drama was just average.

Once they leave Yongzhou things pick up again 😉

I’m not sure why people had the notion that she has amnesia. She was clearly keeping her true identity a secret. When HFX first brought up princess Xiyun, BFX had a smug look on her face. She also said that she preferred the martial arts world because court politics are dangerous. She stated on a few occasions her belief that men and women should be equal and choose the life they want to live. She told HFX that he has a choice and can give up the world/politics. It think these clues are enough to show that she has an alternate identity.

I prefer Chinese dramas too. As a wuxia, this lacks action and fighting scenes and has poor fighting choreography.
