I just don't understand why the best GLs airing now are rated so low and the not as good ones are rated very high.

my guess is they're actually seeing each other and not themselves — still weird, i know. haha. honestly, i forget sometimes and keep thinking it's a fantasy genre. but it’s not like it’s harmful or problematic so 🤷🏻‍♀️

I stopped and restarted a few times trying to give it a chance and finally gave up at episode 8. Very overrated and I rate it at about 5.0.
For a comedy, romance, family, crime drama- it's not funny, not romantic, amateurish crime and not much focus on family.
Don't have a clue who the intended target audience might have been.

I hope this combative nature changes over time with more GL series. It's super annoying to read about either Freen&Becky or Ling&Orm in basically every forum and comment board about a series or when people discuss different GL pairings, even though it has nothing to do with either of those two, and start to argue that one of those two is the "best couple". But well, I'm not a fan of either of those two pairings or their series', so maybe it's just me who's annoyed by it. It also skews every series rating here on MDL because people give a series a 10 just because it's a LingOrm (or FreenBecky) series. To this day I really don't get how TSOU has such a high rating with all the problems it has.

They are both beautiful, they are not bad actresses but the problem for me was the script

It's funny because LingOrm is my favorite GL couple, and Ling is like my "perfect" woman, and at this point I'm planning on rating this a 7. I think if it was a different couple, I already would have dropped it tbh, and it wouldn't even be a 6.

I guess I'm one of those apparently rare stans that actually cares about the quality of what I'm watching. Anyone saying this is 8.5+ is just being unrealistic imo

ngl but i think the 8 rating is WAY too high for this series💀 lingorm are amazing w good chemistry but let's not give it such a high rating just for that reason. Compared to the other gls that are out rn, it's pretty boring

I think it's probably a cultural thing. Where I’m from, every actor and actress knows how to kiss and honestly, I think kissing is just part of acting.

I fully agree with this. Kissing isn't necessarily needed to show romance, but if they add kissing scenes in, it can affect the chemistry either way. A great kiss can make mediocre chemistry feel explosive, while a mediocre kiss can kill almost all the amazing chemistry feeling the rest of the acting delivered. There's actually a Japanese movie where the chemistry was amazing and the mains were obviously completely in love and there wasn't even a peck on the cheek in the whole movie, and I'd rather that than bad kissing.

It just annoys me because I've seen LingOrm have much better kissing scenes in TSOU than what they've been showing in Only You.
