Just watched park min young’s performance in Marry my Husband and I felt like it’s time to rewatch her role in this classic drama I believe Healer still lives up and is better than many modern kdramas they honestly don’t make dramas like this anymore
I still have butterfly feels when rewatching this! Some parts were dull and boring, but it had it's moment too especially Jenny's relationship with both Sun Woo and Jung Hyuk. I still loved that they made our girl smart and strong like she says she never loses.
I really enjoyed this much more than I expected. I started it for a a Kim Jae Young fix but really ended up enjoying the story and characters for most of the cast. I think the minimal (relatively speaking) amount of screechy bratty nonsense helped. It was there but it was not near as prevalent as any I've seen. I am not 100% a fan of the acting choices of the FL but overall I felt it was well acted for this genre.
I miss Jenny Jang and whenever I take walks in afternoon seeing sunset scenery makes me think of her :') Its really relatable the way she just wanted a house where SunWoo and her watch sunset together... When I start-watch a serie because one of my fave star is in casting, Its hard to connect with her/his character UNLESS its written really deep and complicated enough. Because most of times writing isnt that good and all I can see it my fave person acting a character I fangirl and like it but after finishing it I forget about them. This is one of the rare exceptions! After first episode I wasnt interested in seeing more of Kim Sun Ah but was so into her character and what she went through in past! The way they edit this serie was also another factor make it interesting. Flashbacks werent that long or draggy but given when its needed. Background song was co catchy and fit to the story. There were villains like her (not blood)sister played by Park Hee Bon. They had such chemistry I still tear up when I watch their ''trying taking down each other but still sisters'' scenes! Esp that ending one?! :''') precıous. Also the relationship between Jenny & SunWoo<3 Never thought I would be able to find such complicated, hurtful yet beautiful relationship like Jenny Jang and Jung Hyuk too! I just loved all about it! I rewatched many times after first watch.
I originally planned to take my time watching this drama but I got so into it that it took me less than 2 days.
Things between JI and JH started in the wrong foot since she was still in a relationship, although they were still together more out of habit than love. Either way, there was emotional cheating going on but once they decided they wanted to be together she ended things with GS. He on the other hand annoyed me so much because he didn't want to accept the breakup. JI told him multiple times it was over and he continued to be there all the way to the end.
Although I did ended up loving this drama, GS and JI's father pissed me off so many time. The way they kept telling her and acting like her thoughts and feelings didn't matter. The way they kept talking about the marriage as if she hadn't said no multiple times. The only decent man in JI's family is going to be JH and maybe his friend if he eventually marries into the family too.
I did like how once JI and JH got together they stayed together, with just a short break that was understandable, but that was solved quickly. They had moments were they acted before letting the other know what was going on, but they always ended up communicating and explaining why they did certain things.
Can't believe it took me this long to finally watch it. Glad I finally had the time for it.

I hope Kim Jae Young's paycheck for this role is generous enough to make up for him having to play this cringe…
I liked the drama because of comedy. But last episodes are less good about that. Else it's quite a cheap drama, mostly targeting easy entertainment. Many characters are simple or caricatural , most of villains first. It still work, as you can see the drama has a good popularity.

I rewatched this drama so many times - at first absolutely hated Gi Seok character, then I felt sorry for him…
I agree with you - it's his personality, he's arrogant and selfish. in my opinion, the only fault jeongin had was not to break up with giseok before, cuz it felt like cheating - but then she was confused and was not sure about her feelings about jiho and vice versa. anyways, the thing is that I get her, it's not easy to be neglected like that.

Oh don’t start preaching on that “cheating” thing…. That relationship already dead by the time she met Ji Ho. But it’s not even the point. I am not here to persuade anyone of my views on this drama, so don’t try to impose your views on me either. This is the best drama in my book - remains and will be because like life it is complicated, but beautiful and wholesome nevertheless.
