The way it was mentioned in passing really irritated me, bcs yes it’s been a major plot point with it literally building up, for what a blood transfusion? But they already tried that in the hospital? (I know this show is silly and illogical but they’ve done a pretty good job to at least string along the parts decently well) that just felt like a cop out.

ok no but fr, the only reason I could think that they made her get CO poisoning from a Kettle??? was to not show how to actually die from it.

I know your comment was posted a while ago, but still wanted to give my 2 cents lol.
I've seen both contemporary and historical kdramas and cdramas, and each of course have their pros and cons. I think the main issue I have with contemporary C dramas(romcoms) is that most of them are too long for the minimal plot they have. And since they have such strict censorship, many of them end up as very shallow shows.
And yeah like the others said popularity. there are many great Korean shows and movies, but a whole lot of sucky ones too. I know there are many really well done historical Cdramas, with great acting and costumes etc. (story of ming lan).
