why are kdramas so much higher rated than cdramas? this in particular was a cool drama with cool characters but…
I know your comment was posted a while ago, but still wanted to give my 2 cents lol. I've seen both contemporary and historical kdramas and cdramas, and each of course have their pros and cons. I think the main issue I have with contemporary C dramas(romcoms) is that most of them are too long for the minimal plot they have. And since they have such strict censorship, many of them end up as very shallow shows. And yeah like the others said popularity. there are many great Korean shows and movies, but a whole lot of sucky ones too. I know there are many really well done historical Cdramas, with great acting and costumes etc. (story of ming lan).
What is up with im Jae I, the guy looks like he has conflicting thoughts about everything but just decides to be a jerk. Towards everybody. He’s miserable so he wants everyone around him miserable
On 30, the empress' excuse that no mother would act that way toward her own kid and she treated her like that bcs she didnt care. Thats not universal all encompassing for everyone. That irritated me to no end bcs what of all the adopted children to loving home bcs their parents didn't/ couldn't keep them. Her excuse is garbage. There's also so many blood family that treat their children terribly. I know this is fantasy but still.
A couple of times now there are scenes where the camera is on Hong suzu’s face then it pans to the actor next to her responding as if she made an emotion. Like on 9, with lover boy asking if she knew who he was talking about, which his question would have been prompted if she made a facial expression… but she doesn’t, she doesn’t move her face barely at all. I’m sorry but when it is clear the actor next to you is delivering a reaction based on an Expression you’re supposed to make, but is not there. That’s just bad.
