This show is doing much more than one thing right in my opinion but let me just point out once again how incredible the chemistry between Junho and Yoona is. I don't believe it's carrying the show but it's certainly elevating it to greater heights. I've never seen so much chemistry between actors before and I'm pretty sure I'll never see it again.
Here are some other things I think the show does right: picturing a relationship with healthy communication, picturing a male lead who doesn't abuse his power to get close to the female lead (and generally uses it for good), picturing a female lead who can stand up for herself, comedy in general, avoiding unnecessary drama that takes time away from the main relationship, avoiding annoying romcom tropes (ex: misunderstandings that take forever to resolve, denial phases), tackling the drama part when it needs to, promoting workers' rights and dignity, the female lead's friendships, the balance between cute and steamy moments and their quality in writing and production... And all of these, again, sublimated by the acting and the chemistry. Add to that a beautiful cinematography and a good OST and I don't know what else you can wish for.
I understand of course that that we are all looking for and enjoying different things, but personally I am having the best time with this show and I'm so happy they made it for me. I've grown so attached to these characters and to seeing them fall and grow in love, I'll probably need to grieve them a little after the show ends honestly.
I still think the way they bring new elements in to make the plot move forward feels very cheap and unnatural (Mr. Ko, that book...) but otherwise I'm loving the show, especially the dynamics between the four main characters (though I am soon going to dislike Doshik). I'm also enjoying the slow-build of the romance and the fact that they're (apparently, so far) going against the typical "fated lovers" trope. It's a refreshing change, so I hope they're not going to plot twist this moving forward.
Am I the only person getting bored by this drama? I feel like I'm losing interest and I liked the first episodes…
He starts doing some actual work for the hotel in episode 11, and they're also starting to face the consequences of their relationship now. And no, I'm personally not getting bored at all but you're not the only one in that situation. I guess we just don't care about the same things.
Guys what's your favorite kiss scene? Nothing tops the kiss at the pool for me 😁 those cute little kisses are…
It's the first one with the sprinklers and warm lighting and the consent and the perfect scene that came before 😭🔥 But those little kisses are killing me with cuteness too
The fact that they forgot about vampires being destroyed with the sunshine in the middle of this series is kinda…
Actually I'm pretty sure they said at the beginning of show that when vampires are getting sunlight it only means they have to drink more blood than usual (it was during a monologue by the ML in episode 1)
They didn't break up in 12 though and I'm really hoping they subvert that? Let them go through a rough patch without…
They have managed to avoid every annoying romcom trope so far so I want to believe they're gonna avoid this one as well. It would really surprise me if a break up is what they went for honestly. Let's hope not.
Episode 12 was sooooo good! This was probably my favorite episode so far and I loved all of them. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I held my breath... They do romance, comedy and now even drama so well. This show just keeps on giving.
Yes, much hate in this world. They claim it is constructive criticism but its really hatred to support the otner…
This is ridiculous... I have absolutely no intention to "spread hate" or to support a show I happen to be enjoying by trashing another show, which would be extremely petty and immature and I don't have time for it honestly. Y'all really don't believe people can have good faith opinions and it saddens me.
Yes, we are supposed to understand that what we see is what he does before work, after work and in the weekends…
We saw him work last episode though? There was just that intermediary episode where they went to Bali and it was a little weird because he had just told his sister he wanted to take charge of the hotel
