I'm not used to hearing this VA on Cheng Lei like omg it doesn't really fit him imo... All I can hear and imagine is Ao Ruipeng instead π€£ Welp, time to get used it ig π His VA in LOTFG was def so much better! But wait, he seems to have two VA? Okay, I'm just starting and am curious about it now...
You can continue to watch the next season in Donghua version. It stop in episode 63 in Donghua.
Oh that's interesting... I think I'll give the first 63 eps a shot once I am done with this season~ would like to not know anything when watching the LA next season so will maybe watch eps after that!
(Btw I just saw you're Filipino? Me too, tho I am based in the US!)
Should've ended at ep 34 WITH NO CHU ZHAO DRAMA, THAT'S IT! After seeing Chu Zhao, I decided to skip his scenes bc I don't like where this is going... It feels too forced to see his character become like this and even the emperor, like whaaaat?? Veeery anticlimatic... I just feel like stopping after finishing ep 34 while skipping Chu Zhao's scenes but also still putting it as complete just to leave it there as a HE... I don't want more drama... π
Not watching this now, but man, just by skimming and Chen Feiyu's character is already giving Moran from Erha vibes... Waiting for Immortality, and we and Chen Feiyu deserve to see his portrayal of his character in this too one day π€§
I just started this a few days ago and I am loving it. Like some people say, I really like how this feels like a game. I think this concept is very nice and refreshing. It's very entertaining, the drama is. So glad to finally be watching this. I see there will be a season 2 as well? Man, I will look forward to it then. Looks like we'll all have to wait for that to come out in some years π π
Cheng Lisu, now played by Li Qing, the actor for Shanhu from ADWAD (I see you watched some of that so you must know him a little)~ Seems you didn't recognize him tho which I get... he gives off such a different vibe that it sometimes feels like a diff actor to me lol
What other way could there be if not for the FL to be poisoned so they could get out? It was a tight situation too. It seemed almost impossible to get out while being trapped. What if you were in their situation? I'm sure it would be difficult too.
Remember, that's Yesha. How do we expect him to lose even against all those bad guys when he was able to plan so many things well and outsmart the ML throughout the drama? Don't expect the mains to win right away after they found out he's Yesha.
The poison was added in the water, BUT THEN the ML was able to cure it. ANYWAYS, in every historical drama, we need to suspend disbelief. It's like, a poison is able to disperse a poison.
If you were the ML, what would you say? In reality, we might be like him towards his brother who is the villain. Yes, he did not experience what he went through, but might you feel the same? You wouldn't think you'd be the type to do it either, right, considering the person you are today? And committing crimes is a huge thing. Even if they are siblings, that doesn't mean even if the ML grew up like him he would end up the same. But I will say I agree with the ML and can understand Tong Shuang's feelings at the same time.
Maybe Tong Shuang's motivations for his killings was still selfish. He never grew up with a great family after all (I won't lie I don't like this part of the writing bc it feels OOC for the father to bring him to a family that leads him to live an awful life), but anyways, you don't know why he kills himself? He finally felt a genuine care and love from the friends he made throughout the drama. After all this and learning about everything and the whole story about Haiya and Qi Kingdom, he must've felt later that it was too late to turn back. It was as if, if he had the choice to go back in time, he wouldn't want to go back to that path anymore. I could be wrong tho. But with everything he did, he thought it was just best to end it all. I do think he should've gotten a bigger punishment, which is to suffer more while being alive (like every drama) rather than always dying (bc it feels like an easy way out).
SML? I guess you seemed to not have watched the entire thing. He wasn't even part of the detective squad, so we consider him SIXTH ML (main lead).
Weird ending? I'd rather call it a happy ending for the squad and good enough for the villain. Plus, it's a detective drama. Don't need much screentime for romantic moments. It would feel off when adding it to the end while the rest wasn't all that.
Continuing to talk about the separation of the brothers I can't pinpoint why their father separated the two of them bc why also bring one of them to a bad family. That's why I think it would've made more sense that Qingzhuo was Beiming's brother due to him being great in medicine, where it felt like rather the father would have brought his own son to his master to learn medicine, so that he and Beiming would balance out in these two important and big fields (medicine and detective) which can be of big help to each other, but whatever.
I knowww. I need to rewatch it too. the fl was too annoying for my liking to the point i dropped it two times…
Ikr? But don't worry~ He has a happy ending here π«Ά Not to mention Chengyi is in two other dramas with the Linglong actress... It'd be hard for me to get into those dramas bc I rmr them as brother and sister in law here (they don't seem to be in my taste as well) π π
It's good, but it's more focused on the romance, in the mid I was already watching without much enthusiasm.
Wow! I was thinking of watching AoL in the future ngl even tho my expectations are veeery low for it bc I don't expect to really enjoy it (more of being frustrated lmao) but hope the drama proves me wrong in the aspect of enjoyment and intriguing! I really do wanna see Yangzi and Luo Yunxi act together again as leads one day! I find these two to be such great actors that I can't even imagine if they had their own drama together as a cp next!
Also let's not lose hope for Immortality... I am sure ONE DAY... even if we have to wait for a long time... that we will get to see the drama one day π€§
Can't seriously wait to see all the bromance in SLY! Lol let's get ready for the angst too π Will also be waiting for Shadow apunisher where he and Alen Fang reunite again! Now THAT will be an EPIC reunion!! π₯
Hahaha yesss MJTY was also really good. I was already into it from the first ep. Found it pretty unique and different from other dramas I've watched. Such good cinematography too like omg π
Now I am really looking forward to HS and VoS! When HS tho? Like they literally started filming that WHILE FoF was still filming, and they aired THAT one already 10 minutes ago... To think HS didn't even air yet... I thought it would in May! Well... better do it soon plssss ππ
ADWAD. It had the better overall script (no pun intended). TPOB I think only serves well in the romance department,…
Yeah tbh for these kinds of dramas I would prefer less romance so I'm going in TPOB with low expectations when I watch it in the future if romance is really the best part of the drama, bc I prefer more for the plot to be really good. Well, I am excited to see Liu Yuning and his sidekicks (esp with Wang Chengsi again hehe)~ I loved the female character who plays the villain here in The Untamed, so it'll be interesting to see her again too!

Agree with everything you say about ADWAD (For TPOB I haven't watched it so I can't put my opinion on it yet)! I love entering script dramas, but man this one was actually different and made us of how she is in a script and how the main character never forgets she's in one! It made this one very interesting compared to others I've watched!
It's good, but it's more focused on the romance, in the mid I was already watching without much enthusiasm.
So excited to see him again! It's been awhile... since TTEOTM 2 years ago that I watched him oof! I realized I love him as an actor but not too many of his dramas seem to be my type! I am fr looking forward to three of his unreleased ones tho ughhh (can't forget Immortality either omg)!
Also dang I'm not ready for the angst in SLY which I can see in the trailer ππ But I bet the drama will be amazing aahhh!!!!
Same it took my legit months to finally actually stop watching clips of the dramas or thinking about it all day... The only drama that got me obsessed for months LOL and ofc there are those dramas that I LOVED and miss when finishing like this one! Now I need Fushanhai... It's rumored for Sept 6 now omg and if it's true...
This drama is high rated while it was objectively bad. Luckily they had chemistry I guess that's what kept people…
I agree with you. I dropped it a little after the midpoint bc I couldn't get myself into the drama enough. I loved the soldier gang for instance, but their screentime was very little. I also can't really pinpoint what the main story of this drama is. Lots of eps were filler in the first half (imo), the editing isn't the greatest, and the drama felt like it was all over the place for some reason. I, ngl, seemed to be enjoying the second half more bc there's less filler, and I don't care about romance scenes occurring in almost every minute of an ep~ rather I want the plot, story, and growth! So I was bored as hell with lots of eps there. But even then, it isn't thaaat great. Will also be looking forward to Shadow Love. I bet it'll be better.
Also, I love your mention The Wanted Detective! That one was written so well, I can't believe how underrated it is! No one seems to be talking about it either! I don't get why when some of the supporting cast seem to alr be in some big dramas alr, esp WXY. Hope to see more ppl watch this and the rating to go up for it!
No way did they remove this from iQIYI when I am still rewatching... This sucks! Now I can't continue π Well I have Youku but it sadly doesn't have 4K oof...
It's good, but it's more focused on the romance, in the mid I was already watching without much enthusiasm.
Oh yes TBOY is def better. I think it's bc of the director. But we are so lucky with these three adaptations bc the author of the novels actually does the screenwriting so they follow the script well which is nice. I actually really enjoyed Dashing Youth but not the focus on the romance aspect from ep 20+, BUT I get why they put that as the story... It's bc it's the prequel of TBOY, showing the story of TBOY characters' parents, which is nice to see. I would rec Dashing Youth b4 TBOY at least tho. It'll feel like a good watch from the prequel to the sequel imo.
