Kind of like in other chinese dramas where its only when somebody kills themself to prove their commitment do those trying to force them back off.

Because now she was going to go jail for taking the fall. And people in the Mo family dont go to jail. So if she didnt kill herself, her family would have destroyed her husband to protect her. I agree its stupid. Family honor and the corruption of their absolute lack of limits pushed her to the edge. Plus, although its framed as mostly to protect her husband, killing herself means neither of WB’s parents went to jail. So she saves her son that “dishonor” and possible public ridicule. I love WB but he’s actually inherited this extremism from that side of the family. Its his biggest character flaw and SY does mellow it a bit when he isn't the source of it. IE: beating the shit out of uncle Mo. I agree the whodunnit plotline was weakly executed. But it got us to a place where the two outliers in this found family (vain mommy and materialistic dad) can now start to blend with everyone.

Because of the fake death. One of the boys does that. I honestly dont remember the cousin very well. I skimmed a ton of the books because I didnt like aspects of the relationship and just wanted to get to the end. It was a happy ending. I definitely recommend reading it if you are curious. Alot of people love the books.

Coma. Fake death. Eight year separation. Eventually our leads marry. Lets pray they dont go anywhere near that route. Cause four episodes is not enough.

I think they wrote it to play on both meanings for the fans. Like we know what a six year old is actually saying but it also voices a common fan thought.

I think they age writing very smartly so it can be interpreted either way.

I love it too. They can claim its the twin angle or WBs possessive need to mark his new family as his but it satisfies the desire for the romantic as much as possible given how carefully they are trying to walk a stupid prejudicial line.

I think he was already loosening a tiny bit but unwilling to reach out. They kind of showed him being a little sympathetic for a second and than hardening against her in previous encounters. However, these last few episodes, when he asked for her help to find the truth she did it. She finally did something he actually wanted when he asked instead of forcing what she thinks he should want on him. And if he keeps fighting with her WB will never make up with his dad. SY will always put WB first.

Or else they’ll skip the blatantly romantic plot of the second book entirely and just give us an ending on the found family arc of this teen years period. My worst fear is they jump to WB’s wedding with SY handing him off to a bride or something. I can handle not having their romantic relationship totally confirmed but that would kill all hope of it.

If they dont change anything from the book, the car accident was the cousin trying to get rid of SY. He didnt know WB would be in the car too.
