Title Korea-Khitan War Spoiler
I'm not familiar with Goryeo history, can you explain the role of Choi Soo Jong and how will he be relevant in…
He was the politician, without military experience, who was appointed General of the Goryeo army during the 3rd Goryeo-Liao War. He was the key person who brought the greatest victories against the Liao Dynasty.

The real love agent is our ML right!!?!
Both of them.

The spouse of Agents of Love die young. They either die mysteriously or die for a reason, but they die young.

1ML's wife died at her wedding. Again, the how is not important.
1FL's husband died young too, again, she how is not important.

It was also hinted in episodes 1 and 2, thtiat they are both Agents of Love.

Male Agents of Love used to be very common during early Goryeo period. They were called Priests.

Before the Goryeo ended and was replaced by Joseon, theri was a rise in female agents of love. The male line practically disappeared.

It was also during this period that they were called "Agents of Love".

However, after the Joseon empire was established, and them being heavily Confucian, the Agents of Love were seen as shamans and probably were hunted down.

Thus, they went into hiding and by the time of the series, very few people know they still exist.

Now both the 1ML and 1FL came from a long line of Agents of Love, again as was hinted in the first two episodes.

That's not her husband. Her husband died of bad health. That's her husband's older brother (most probably the…
The wife of the son who was killed by her father was the real Lady Yeoju. They though she died but as she was escaping, she was washed ashore the river and the 1FL found her and saved her.

So far, only the 1FL, the bookstore owner, the 1ML, and the ex-guard, are aware the eldest son's wife is still alive and hiding.

And the guard is probably the real Lady Youju's brother (or probably childhood lover).

Did I misunderstand something or is this situation a complete mess? So, if I understand correctly, her late husband…
1. Her husband is not the LGBTQ son. Her husband is the second son who died of sickness. His older brother was the one who was killed by their father, her father-in-law.

2. The kid is not the FL's kid. They never had a kid. The kid is probably the son of her mother-in-law or the queen mother. It is not clear if the 1FL is aware of it, but she knows her mother-in-law asked her to pretend to be his mother from everyone else.

Heck, the kid himself knows the 1FL is not his mother, he even told that to 1ML.

Her mother-in-law wants that kid do be the next king. It is why they want to get rid of the Crown Prince. It is only the CP dead will the king and the ministers agree to find a new CP, and her father-in-law will surely bring it up and reveal there's actually another royal kid, and so on.

I think the clue was in episode 1. See below.
When the camera zoomed into the program Ms. Programmer was coding and then showed ther road.

My theory is what we are watching is the computer game she was creating.

I understand the frustration, because I did too. But Pink team did not choose the green team. Pink team also had…
I see. So, the Green Team is basically theor 1:1 battle competitor? It was only the song that the Pink team chose for them (technically since the Pink team get to choose first).

As of episode 3, only 1 Green Team won, and it was a give away, they did deserve it. As compared to the Pink team they matched with, they lacked teamwork. I was suspecting they treated it as an individual competiton.

The hanging match from episode 3, that one is hard. From the teaser, it appears that their Pink team match are equally good. So far, I'm in favour of the Green team, they are a good match, their training showed it. They had fun and yet was able to pull it off.

Jumong
Just look for Jumong from unofficial sources. It's an old (early 2000s) series, before OTT services were launched, so I doubt any OTT service have it.

Personally, Goryeo-Khitan series is the spiritual successor of Jumong.

1. Deeply rooted in history

2. Time period of Korea that is less touched on. Jumong is before GoGoryeo (ancient Goryeo) was founded. The Goryeo-Khitan war is in the Goryeo period (different from GoGoryeo). Most period K-dramas are in the Joseon / Choson era (which is after Goryeo and before the "Empire of Korea").

3. It's about war, and Korea's efforts in establishing and maintaining its identity and culture.

4. No romance and politics. It's all about Korea.

So, if you are liking Goryeo-Khitan War series, you definitely must watch Jumong.

Title Korea-Khitan War Spoiler
To those who just started watching, this is based on history. There will be fictionalized parts, obviously, but…
TRIVIA #2: The Liao people were practically the servitude tribe. It was actually surprising they built an empire and conquered many other Chinese kingdoms. After they were defeated by the Jin Dynasty, the Khitan people never recovered.

After their "West Liao" dynasty also collapsed, it was the beginning of their tribe's demise. Today, there is no known, at least officially, descendant of the Liao people.

To those who just started watching, this is based on history. There will be fictionalized parts, obviously, but largely based on facts.

The series started just before the 2nd Goryeo-Liao War started. And by the looks of it after episode 4, they are going to tell the story up to the end of the 3rd (and last) Goryeo-Liao War.

The Liao Empire was one of the Chinese tribes. The Liao people were also called Khitan. Past tense because the Liao people no longer exist for a very long time now.

What is wrong with that governing officer? Why does he insist on going to war? And they just had to kill him,…
General Kang Jo? That was who he was.

They did not kill him, he was indeed captured by the Liao Emperor.

Remember, this is based on history.

The series started just before the beginning of the 2nd Goryeo-Liao War.

General Kang Jo brought multipli victories for Goryeo. Because of that, he grew complacent. That his mistake which led to his capture and death.

Despite what he did to previous emperor, his loyalty go Goryeo and multiple victories, landed him as a hero to which he still is remembered.

Unfortunately, for some weird reason, they did not give him justice in this show. They should've at least shown his multiple victories and explained how a great General was captured just like that.

The war between the Liao Emperor and General Kang Jo lasted longer. The series made it appear he was captured within the week.

The have 36 episodes, and they can't give him justice.

Title Korea-Khitan War Spoiler
It's not that big of a deal but they kind of spoiled that introduction towards the end. I get it's less important…
It's based on history. That's who the king was. He will eventually become a great king who will end the 3rd Goryeo-Liao War.

The next thing that will happen is they will retreat further South. Move their Capital. The 2nd war will end, giving Goryeo time to rebuild.

Then the king will appoint as Army General a politician who never had military experience. This General will lead the Goryeo Army to multiple victories until the end of the 3rd War, and that's the end of the entire Goryeo-Liao War. From then on, Goryeo prospered under the king who once knew nothing about being the king.
