Thank you very much for Episode 6. Our grandfather never received the respect and honour he deserves as a WW2 veteran, he and many other veterans like him, were denied the benefits, financial support, respect, and honour when they continued on with their lives.
Institutions, politicians, and governments, only paid lip service and delayed the bills that could have given them proper support. Yes, the bills eventually became laws but only after most of the veterans already passed away. They wouldn't even give posthumous awards, promotions, and/or recognition.
Thank you very much for Episode 6. It may be dedicated for the Korean War veterans, but it resonates very powerfully with all war veterans in all countries, if not for them, majority of us wouldn't be enjoying the life we have today.
Can someone give me a brief description better than the free translation version above?
At this point, it is still not clear.
I'm struggling with it myself.
The fan translation of the "official" description hints that there is some amazing, grande, family secret that the main male lead will eventually discover while searching for his mother. It kind of is telling us that this secret is some secret society for elites that the main ML have to "infiltrate" or something if he ever will have a chance of finding his mother.
But, after the first 5 episodes, there is nothing about that. Maybe in the 2nd week we'll start to see clues about it.
ML: It was me. I never imagined back then that I'd do such a thing.ML: can not move beyond my origin pointNow…
Based on the CCTV captured: 1. When the future ML was sent back in time by the Ghost, he 'replaced' the ML standing on the corridor.
One frame the original ML was standing, the next, it was the future ML lying on the floor.
It can only mean one thing: replaced.
2. If we go by "replace", it would explain why the ML doesn't remember anything: 2a: when he visited the "no grid reality", he doesn't know a single thing about that world even though there is a version of him there. 2b: The "no grid reality" version of the ML was nowhere to be seen after he showed up. 2c: When he talked to his younger self, he never had any new memories about that encounter. 2d: When he returned to 2021, he doesn't have any memories of the changes he made. He was very cautious in visiting their old home. If he did not replace the ML that lived in that new reality, he should've memories that his mother is well.
3. Re: The Ghost. The "replace" theory is limited. For example, the Ghost was able to appear at various lab locations around the world in May 1997. She was caught by CCTVs. This never changed.
It would appear that, as long as the time traveler is beyond the range of their other self (again age difference matters [ie an adult will not replace their kid version]), they can be in the exact same time as their previous selves.
-- There is another way to explain this May 1997 CCTV of the Ghost in various labs at exactly the same time around the world.

OOoh, I can't wait for episode 10.
Man Ok running, wasn't that the one wherein he was about to steal someone's salary? Is that new time traveler trying to undo the things the Ghost did?
The way it looked, he intentionally bumped Man Ok so he'll be delayed. Because of that, the guy he was going to steal from would either no longer be there, or won't have his back exposed (where his salary is in his back pocket).
Because Man Ok won't see his salary, he won't steal. Because he won't steal, the Ghost doesn't have to do anything but watch.
2. Then they eventually faced each other.
If my assumption is somewhere close, the new time traveler is trying to stop the Ghost.
Maybe the new time traveler found another way to install the Grid without the Ghost? Without anyone dying?
But that would also mean, the Ghost will ceased to exist or her life wouldn't be the way it is. (Probably ceased to exist since the Detective and Man Ok are somehow her great grand relatives.)
3. The ML and the Ghost, together with some men, about to face/fight someone. I wonder what that is about.
I know right? Apparently, we were mistaken about the child being Kwon Sae Ha. It was Kim man wok from the start.…
It was because of his father. In the episodes 1-6 reality, his father was written-off "died of overwork". But he already suspected he was killed just like how the janitor was killed.
In the episodes 7-10 reality, his father was used as the "founder of the Grid" even though he was not.
ML: It was me. I never imagined back then that I'd do such a thing.
ML: can not move beyond my origin point
Now canon: * Ghost and Kim Man Ok are related by blood, however, only by 13% (it means a few generations between them) * Ghost and Kim Man Ok share the same blood type: cis-AB * Detective Jung Sae Byeok and Ghost are fully related by DNA * ML's father needs to die for the Grid to exist * The janitor (Man Ok's stepfather) needs to die for the Ghost to exist -- quoting: "The Ghost can't exist without Man Ok." * Man Ok's birth name was "Lee Si Won" * Dr. Kwon's (ML's father) code was the "key" to running the Grid. * In the "mother-is-healthy reality", the other labs where the Ghost appeared to finish the Grid, all kept quiet. -- The IRR (predecessor of AB) showed them a footage of time travelers, which forced them to keep quiet. -- Korea then announced Dr. Kwon as the "father of the Grid".
Time travel rules (canon): * Ghost: "time does not flow" * When a person travels back in a time period where they already exist (or were there before), they replace the copy with the time traveler version. -- This means that there can never be more than one version of the same person. -- Age matters. An adult version will not replace a younger version. Age gap is unknown. -- There is definitely only 1 timeline. This show is not based on MWI (many-worlds interpretation) theory.
Mysteries: * The latest DNA of the Ghost is "normal". * ML said, they "have to kill the janitor together". -- This explained why the Ghost was not surprised every single time the ML showed up. -- Relative to the Ghost everything already happened. She is simply nudging events to happen exactly the way they did in her own version. * ML said, "The Ghost came to the past to build the Grid." -- However, there was already a Grid Dr. Kwon was building. -- This means that the Ghost came back to 1997 to finish the Grid far earlier. The software code was not meant to be finished by May 1997. * 1997 scene: ML: How much time do I have left?
Extra: * Someone left a comment weeks ago that in the interview of the cast, they revealed that there are actually 3 versions of the Ghost. Here's my guess: -- 1st version: 1997 Ghost (the very first time the Ghost time traveled) -- 2nd version: after the ML restored the Grid himself, he met the Ghost multiple times. In one instance, the Ghost said, "you are ruining everything". -- 3rd version: the "captured Ghost" -- she is the version that is nudging events to happen exactly the way they did in her own version of the future. She intentionally let herself be captured so the ML would time travel. Again … to make sure things happen as they should.
Bonus: -- another thing that changed: AB now have obvious doors -- Ghost intentionally let herself be captured in the "Ghost-was-captured reality" to make sure ML goes back to the past. -- Name of AB/IRR security guard: Han Wi Han
Also, their grandfather is still looking for his biological child. They'll probably reveal that much later too.

Both are daily 30 to 35 min #Kdrama with 120 episodes. The first 5 episodes have a lot of similarities, it gets confusing. =))

"The Secret House": older brother adopted his niece as his own.
What in the world. LOLs.
There are other similarities between the two shows. Did the writers originally plan one show but had a fall out? Hahahaha.

Guy was crying tears-of-joy.
Girl was … nada. zero. zilch. emotionless. blank. "I'm just doing this for practicality."
Then in the preview … she's giving birth. Hahaha
Probably in episode 5, they're grandparents.
